Chapter 141 - Filth of the world

Alucard lowered his center of gravity, muscles tightening as he prepared to react to whatever Alexander had planned.

Thankfully, the strategy should have been simple.

Keep your distance.

Run.

Alexander only had swords, after all.

Close-range weapons.

That meant space was survival.

So Alucard jumped back—

And immediately paid for underestimating just how insane the priest truly was.

Ignoring all logic, Alexander hurled one of his swords straight at him.

The blade spun through the air with terrifying speed, slamming into Alucard's shoulder. It chipped his armor and tore into flesh beneath it, sending a sharp jolt of pain through his body.

"Damnit… you're really thirsting for my blood? And I thought I was supposed to be the bloodsucker."

But before Alucard could even finish reacting—

Alexander was already in front of him.

Sword raised.

Execution ready.

The strike came down with lethal precision—fast enough to kill most Awakened instantly.

But Alucard and death…

Were not on speaking terms.

They didn't mix.

Like water and oil.

So as the blade descended, Alucard shifted just enough—

Letting his armor take part of the blow—

And moved.

His hand shot upward.

Straight toward Alexander's face.

Then—

Crush.

The nail of his gauntlet tore through Alex's eye and shattered his glasses in the same motion.

Blood sprayed.

Alexander grunted—

But before Alucard could go for the second eye, a brutal knee slammed into his stomach.

The force knocked the air out of him, sending him staggering.

Alexander didn't stop.

Ignoring the pain, he grabbed both blades and stepped forward, ready to overwhelm Alucard completely.

Unfortunately for him—

Alucard wasn't finished either.

From the ground, Alucard snapped both legs upward, kicking Alexander square in the face before rolling away, a crooked smirk on his blood-covered lips.

"Hey, priest… look, we match now. I bet you're thrilled."

He pointed lazily at his own eye patch.

A mistake.

Provoking a bloodlusted opponent was never wise.

Alexander stepped forward without hesitation.

His foot slammed down onto Alucard's leg, pinning it in place—cutting off his mobility.

"Fuck."

Before he could react—

Alexander drove his blade straight through Alucard's shoulder.

Flesh tore.

Blood gushed.

"FUCK!"

Without hesitation, Alucard detonated the blood inside the wound.

The explosion shattered the blade instantly and burned Alexander's fingers, forcing him to pull back slightly.

That opening—

Alucard took it.

He slammed his head forward in a brutal headbutt, trying to force Alexander off him.

But the priest didn't budge.

Instead—

He stabbed the second sword into Alucard's waist.

"I will kill you."

The words were low.

Absolute.

Alucard detonated the blood again.

The shockwave ripped through both of them.

Pain exploded across his entire body as he slumped forward, leaning against Alexander—

Then smiled.

An idea forming.

He opened his mouth—

And bit down on Alexander's neck.

Hard.

Trying to rip it apart.

Trying to decapitate him with sheer force.

But the flames burned.

The holy energy scorched his mouth, forcing him to pull back.

Still—

Alexander yelled in pain.

And that moment of distraction—

Was enough.

Alucard adjusted his position and drove his knee upward—

Straight into Alexander's groin.

The priest gritted his teeth, stumbling back just enough—

Just enough—

For Alucard to break free.

He staggered backward, clutching his sides.

Blood poured from his wounds.

His vision blurred.

He was losing too much blood.

Too fast.

I need blood.

The corpses.

They were right there.

So close.

But—

No time.

Alexander was already advancing again.

Alucard noticed the damage—his left hand was completely burned off.

But it didn't matter.

He was healing.

Fast.

Too fast.

Alucard's only option—

Force Beast to buy him time.

But Beast was damaged too.

Low on blood.

Barely holding on.

Still—

There was no other choice.

Alucard glanced back.

Their eyes met.

A silent command.

A silent understanding.

Beast didn't hesitate.

It began charging a blood beam.

Alexander noticed immediately—and shifted targets.

Eliminating the summon was more efficient.

More logical.

But before Beast could even fire—

It began to dissolve.

Unsummoned.

White sparks consumed its form.

Alexander's blade was already mid-swing—

An inch away from its face—

Then it vanished.

Alucard laughed.

A dry, broken laugh—

That turned into a cough as blood spilled from his mouth.

"Damn it… I'm so close…"

Wings' corpse was just ahead.

A few steps.

That was all.

But Alexander was right behind him.

Too close.

Too fast.

So Alucard gambled.

He ran over the body instead.

Kept going.

Toward the other corpse.

Alexander frowned for a moment—

Then followed.

Stepping directly over Wings' body.

A mistake.

Alucard had planted the trigger.

The moment his feet touched the corpse earlier, he prepared to activate wrath—

But that alone wasn't enough since Alexander was far away.

So he got creative.

He tore a chunk of flesh from his own arm—the one containing the sigil preserving the body—and let it fall.

Right where Alexander would step.

The moment Alexander crushed it under his foot—

Wrath activated.

The corpse detonated.

The explosion blasted Alexander backward—

And gave Alucard the opening he needed.

He reached the building.

Collapsed inside.

And fell onto the second corpse.

Then—

He began to eat.

Ripping it apart.

Devouring it from the inside out.

Organs first.

Lungs.

Liver.

Almost everything.

He didn't stop.

Didn't hesitate.

He tore into muscle next—leg tissue, dense and full of blood.

Then skin.

He ripped it free and pressed it onto his own wounds, forcing it into place.

Thanks to his Perfect Logic attribute, his blood dominated the foreign tissue instantly.

It became his skin from the moment a drop of his blood touched it.

The bleeding slowed.

Then stopped.

Alucard then hunched over the corpse.

One organ remained.

The heart.

He needed it.

For a sigil.

With shaking hands, he carved into his own chest—slow, precise, agonizing.

Then placed the heart onto the symbol.

A red glow erupted.

Wrapped around him.

Pulsing.

Reinforcing.

Alucard rose.

Barely.

But enough.

He stepped outside.

Alexander stood waiting.

Broken.

Burned.

Bleeding.

Yet still standing.

And in his hands—

A massive greatsword.

So he managed smuggle it past Seishan after all.

That lying bastard.

Alucard coughed blood.

Then lowered his stance.

And charged.

Alexander smiled.

Raised the blade high—

And brought it down with overwhelming force.

"Ah… so the bastard finally went insane."

The strike should have ended it.

But the barrier sigil held.

For just long enough.

Alucard broke through.

Knocked Alexander down.

Mounted him.

And began punching.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Each strike tore skin.

Shattered bone.

Blood sprayed.

His own hands split open from the force.

Alexander's face collapsed under the assault.

Alucard used the blood to activate wrath.

Each impact detonated.

Destroying what remained.

Still—

Alexander didn't stop.

He swung the greatsword one last time—

Tearing through Alucard's torso.

Ripping everything from his chest to his waist open.

But Alucard kept punching.

Relentless.

Unstoppable.

Alexander laughed weakly, blood spilling from his mouth landing on Alucard's face .

"You… filthy maggot… the filth of the world…that's what you are...something that deserves to die—even if you kill me—"

Alucard didn't let him finish.

Another punch.

His jaw shattered.

Then another.

Then another.

Until his face—

Was gone.

Nothing but blood and crushed bone.

No longer human.

Alucard rolled off him.

Collapsed onto his back.

His guts spilled out.

His body destroyed.

Yet—

He was smiling.

A wide, insane grin.

His vision faded.

Blurring.

But he still saw it.

A figure approaching.

Gray skin.

Familiar.

"Ah… well… if it isn't my guardian angel…"

And with that—

Alucard lost consciousness.

Still smiling.
