Chapter 140 - Chicken Wings

Alucard used the sharpened nails of his gauntlet to slice open Daniel's neck, then lowered his head and began to drain his blood.

Daniel's body trembled violently at first.

Then it slowed.

His eyes lost their light, turning hollow. The color drained from his face until he resembled nothing more than an empty husk.

A corpse.

Meanwhile, Alucard looked down at what remained with complete indifference.

Not pity.

Not anger.

Not even satisfaction.

Just… cold indifference.

His face was covered in blood—none of it his own.

He stood there in silence, unmoving.

Not because he regretted his actions.

Not because he was reflecting.

But because he was thinking.

How could I use the corpse?

His mind worked through the possibilities quickly—

Then discarded them just as fast.

Useless.

The body held no further value.

So he let it go.

The body fell on the ground with a quiet thud.

Alucard closed his eyes and took a slow, deep breath. It was the only sign that he was still alive—that he wasn't just another corpse standing among the dead.

He extended his senses.

Through Envy, he perceived the world around him.

Wings was above the building, circling.

Alexander and Beast were still locked in combat.

From what he could tell, Beast had taken some damage—but not too much. Alexander, on the other hand, was injured as well, though less so—and already healing.

Alucard clicked his tongue.

"I need to take Wings out quickly… otherwise I risk Beast dying to Alexander."

That was not an option.

Not even remotely.

He only had a few seconds to think—

But that was more than enough.

A small smirk formed on his lips.

Then it grew.

Twisted.

By the time he began walking toward the stairs leading to the top floor, a manic grin had already spread across his face—his presence almost resembling that of a monster, an aura clinging to him like something unnatural.

As soon as he reached the top floor, he started shouting—loud, chaotic, as if he were still fighting someone.

Right on cue—

Wings appeared behind the window, already preparing to throw his spear.

Alucard turned his back to him deliberately.

An invitation.

A provocation.

He wanted Wings to commit fully.

And, of course…

That idiot did exactly that.

Wings rose into the air, then dove downward, launching his spear with overwhelming force.

Exactly as planned.

It was simple, really.

When something is in motion, stopping it isn't easy.

For a human running, they slow down by creating friction against the ground.

In the air, it works the same way—except the resistance comes from the air itself not the ground.

When Wings dives, he has to spread his wings to increase surface area—like a parachute—to slow himself down.

But that also means—

He's vulnerable.

Locked in place for a brief moment.

Stay in school, kids. It makes you better at killing people.

Alucard kept his eye closed.

He didn't need it.

Through Envy, he felt the moment Wings released the spear.

Through sound, he waited—

For the glass.

The instant it shattered, a diabolical grin spread across his face.

He turned—

Stepped to the side—

And let the spear pass him.

In the same motion, his fingers formed the shape of a gun, aiming directly at Wings.

Normally, he wouldn't have enough blood left to fire.

But he had prepared for that.

By adjusting the sigils, he had lowered the cost just enough to use the blood he had stolen from Daniel—just enough for one weaker shot.

One chance.

Wings had only two options.

Fly up—

Or drop down.

And he chose to fly.

Exactly as Alucard predicted.

The shot rang out.

It struck Wings in the knee—

And tore it clean off.

The limb fell, spinning through the air.

But the attack drained all of Alucard's expendable blood.

He couldn't do that again.

Not without killing himself.

…But it didn't matter anymore.

Alucard rushed forward, leaping out of the window.

Mid-air, he grabbed onto Wings' remaining leg.

Panic flashed across Wings' face as he tried to shake him off—crashing into a nearby building, scraping against stone and debris.

But Alucard didn't let go.

A madman doesn't care about his own safety.

Only about violating someone else's.

And Alucard was about to violate him.

He climbed upward along Wings' body, ignoring the impact, the pain, the chaos.

Until—

His blood-covered face reached Wings' torso.

Right where the liver was.

Then he bit down.

Hard.

"AGHHHH—you bastard!"

Wings screamed in agony.

But it wasn't over.

Not even close.

Alucard activated another sin lineage.

Wrath.

The blood covering his face detonated.

Wings' liver exploded from the inside.

The sheer pain shattered his focus.

And just like that—

They began to fall.

Alucard climbed higher, positioning himself above Wings.

His hands gripped the wings tightly.

His foot pressed down on his head.

Forcing him downward.

Face-first.

Toward the cold, unforgiving stone below.

They crashed.

Bone cracked.

Flesh tore.

The impact echoed through the alley like a dying breath.

But Alucard wasn't done.

Not yet.

He needed blood—to recover from the loss, to repair the damage from the fall.

And, frankly—

He felt like having chicken wings.

A cruel smile spread across his lips.

He stomped down, then grabbed hold of Wings' actual wings and began to tear.

A muffled, agonized scream escaped the dying man—barely recognizable as blood filled his lungs.

Then—

Silence.

Slow.

Painful.

Final.

Alucard tossed one wing aside, then brought the other to his mouth, biting into it.

"Mm… I guess I must've gotten a bit of your lungs too. Tasty."

He knew there would be no response.

But that never stopped him from mocking someone before.

After finishing, he tossed the remains aside and turned.

Then began walking toward the ongoing fight between Alexander and Beast.

The moment Alexander saw him—

A devilish grin spread across his face.

"Well, well… if it isn't the pathetic demon himself. What—scared I'd kill your little pet?"

Alucard smiled.

Calm.

Almost amused.

"How hypocritical. You call me a demon… yet you didn't even react to the fact that I killed your friends."

He tilted his head slightly.

"Do you even have a human heart?"

Alexander grunted, throwing a dagger toward him.

"I'm far more human than you'll ever be, monster."

Alucard shook his head slowly dodging the dagger with ease.

"Probably. I'm not human anymore."

His smile widened.

"I'm something far beyond anything you can imagine."

Alexander kicked Beast away, then rushed forward, blades in hand.

"I can imagine a maggot just fine, thank you."
