Seeing Benio Adashino's expression, Gojo Satoru immediately knew—
This girl was definitely thinking in the wrong direction.
He spread his right hand dramatically and turned toward Yukino Yukinoshita with an exaggeratedly polite gesture.
"Come on, Yukino-san. The stage is yours. Please begin your performance."
"What do you mean, begin my performance?"
Yukino frowned slightly. Her tone was calm, but there was a faint warning hidden underneath. Still, she continued stroking Vanilla's soft white fur while explaining lightly.
"Adashino-san, my Service Club is not what you imagined." She paused slightly, then continued in a composed, almost lecturing tone.
"There is an old saying: 'teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish'. The purpose of the Service Club is to lend a helping hand to students who are troubled. We accept requests—commissions—from students. Once we accept a request, we fulfill it to the best of our ability."
Her voice was steady, elegant and ompletely serious.
Benio blinked, as she finally understood what kind of Club it was,
"…So it's a club that helps people solve problems?"
"Yes." Yukino nodded, "It is not… what you were imagining."
Benio coughed awkwardly, embarrassed." Cough! I see…my apologies...I should have first asked before anything...."
"You don't need to apologize," Yukino shook her head lightly as she replied, "Many people misunderstand when they hear about it for the first time. I'm used to it."
Her expression softened slightly.
Normally, she might have responded with sharp sarcasm.
But—
This was Gojo Satoru's student. And more importantly, she apologized sincerely after learning of her fault. Yukino wasn't so unreasonable that she would keep a cold face after understanding all that.
Seeing the two girls getting along, Gojo Satoru smiled like a satisfied fox.
After finishing his now lukewarm black tea, he stood up lazily.
"You two talk first. I'll go wake Umaru up."
"Umaru?"
Yukino glanced at him in surprise.
That name—
At Sobu High School, Umaru Gojo was known as the "Beautiful Angel of Sobu." — A perfect, refined, and intelligent beauty with flawless manners
And—Her surname was Gojo.
Yukino narrowed her eyes slightly.
Gojo Satoru. Gojo Umaru.
It was the same surname.
When did she became so stupid? She should have realized earlier!
Well, nobody can fault Yukino either—In Japan, their are many people with the same surname or even first name, that is why just because they have the same surname doesn't necessary means that they are related to each other. And Gojo Satoru's and Umaru's case is very...unique, if they don't know any better, nobody would think of them as brother and sister at all!
'…How could someone like her have such a hopeless, salted-fish older brother?'
She thought silently.
What she didn't know—Was that Gojo Satoru was thinking the exact opposite....
'How could I possibly have such a lazy, game-addicted sister?'
Truly.
The siblings were equally matched!
.....
Upstairs,
Gojo pushed open Umaru's bedroom door.
Onky to found put that it was pitch black inside, all the lights were off with the curtains closed and cothes scattered everywhere. It was a complete mess!
On the large bed in the corner of the room—
Umaru Gojo was sleeping soundly in her hamster pajamas, hugging a giant cat-like pillow, tightly.
Before walking further, Gojo silently picked up a pink private garment under his foot and tossed it into the closet without any comment.
Then he walked directly to the bed and began to shake Umaru with his hand.
"Umaru. Wake up. The sun is already swollen."
"…Nnngh… Let me… mime for a while…"
She mumbled sleepily. Then she rolled over like a pancake and resumed sleeping instantly. Even the rude wake-up from Gojo wasn't able to wake the sleeping hamster!
In less than one second, she fell asleep again.
Gojo stared at her silently.
Then—
He withdrew his hand and walked out of the room.
Of course, he was not giving up just yet!
He was simply preparing proper equipment. Because if she kept sleeping until evening, then she definitely wouldn't sleep at night.
And if she didn't sleep at night—she would play games.
If she played games—He would be dragged into it!
Absolutely not!
He was not going through this hellish cycle again!
.....
One minute later,
In the living room, under the confused gazes of Yukino and Benio—Gojo Satoru returned only to walk upstairs again while holding a small loudspeaker.
Without expression, he walked back into Umaru's room.
He recorded his voice calmly.
"Wake up, wake up, lazy pig."
Then—
Volume: maximum.
He placed the speaker beside the bed and click to play.
Click!
"Wake up, wake up, lazy pig—Wake up...—Wake up.....—Wake up…....—"
The sound looped endlessly, as Gojo walked towards the chair not far from the bed, he sat down as he wait patiently.
After just 7 minutes,
Inside the blanket, Umaru body began to twitched—the image of her brother repeating this words continuously appear in her dream.
One Gojo. Then two Gojo appear. Then three Gojo. The number of Gojo's increase from each second.
Her expression went from confusion—To irritation—To despair—
To complete mental collapse.
"I'm getting up! I'm getting up! Big brother, turn it off!"
She sat up abruptly, hair messy and eyes blazing as if she had just experience the worst nightmare of her life!
Gojo nodded to himself, satisfied. As he stood up, walked towards the bed, picked up the speaker calmly and turned it off. Even he was getting a little irritated....
"Then get up properly. You can't sleep till evening, just to play games again tonight. You have school tomorrow...."
"I knoooow…" She replied weakly, her expression hateful as she glare at him before averting her eyes.
"...There's really nothing I can do about you..." Hearing her half-dead tone and a little resentful tone, Gojo stepped forward.
As he pulled out his hand from his pocket and placed it gently on her messy honey-blonde hair.
[Reverse Technique]
In an instant—A gentle flow of cursed energy entered her body, making her energetic as the drowsiness disappear completely.
Umaru blinked, her sleepy eyes cleared immediately.
The fog in her brain vanished, she stood up in excitement.
"What was that?!"
Gojo shrugged. "Just think of it as a little boost."
Umaru's eyes sparkled like stars. "That's incredible! Isn't this basically a Second Wind?!"
{T/N: Borderlands Second Wind: A mechanic where, upon hitting 0 HP, you can get back up by killing an enemy within a short time, often fully recharging shields.}
That is on par or even a little better than her "Cola HP Refill Ultimate~!" Umaru's eyes seem to be twinkling with little stars as she said.
Gojo froze, speechless. '…You are calling my top-tier high-level Reverse Technique a Second Wind ?'
But—
She wasn't wrong. Technically. For a hardcore gamer like Umaru—A technique that instantly refreshed stamina and cleared fatigue? It's really a Second Wind! Since, she wouldn't have to feel sleepy or tired if she can just used, he can imagine what she would do first if she was able to used it. And he can say only this — Her rank would definitely skyrocket.
"Get up and tidy yourself. We have guests."
"Guests?" Her expression instantly changed.
At home, she could be a useless, good-for-nothing younger sister. But outside—she must maintain a dignified and graceful appearance.
Her posture straightened immediately.
"Why didn't you say so earlier, baka Onni-chan?!"
She jumped out of bed and rushed to her bathroom inside the room—She needs to quickly tidy up her hairs and all, otherwise her persona would collapse!
"You've already collapsed at home," Gojo muttered, speechless. "Why are you pretending now?"
As he watched her dash inside the bathroom as she shut the door with a loud noise.
"You wouldn't understand!"
She shouted back from inside.
"Yes, yes. I don't understand." Gojo left the room, closing the door behind him.
...
Back in the living room—
Yukino and Benio were feeding Vanilla small treats.
Kinako was already there but he had transformed into a small star-shaped accessory and was hanging from Benio's neck to avoid exposing herself in front of Yukino.
Gojo casually sat down and scrolled through his phone.
Step! Step! Step!
After 10 minutes, the sound of soft footsteps could be heard as Umaru walked inside the living room.
Her long flaxen hair was now combed smoothly, shining under the light. Her posture was straight, and her expression gentle and refined—Completely different from the hamster-pajama creature who was sleeping soundly just earlier.
She smiled politely, gentle.
"Good afternoon, Yukinoshita-san."
She recognized her instantly. Sobu High School's Ice Queen was one of the very popular person in the school, their would hardly be anyone who doesn't knows her.
"Good afternoon… Gojo-san." Yukino said in the same manner, even though she was a little awkward.
Calling her "Gojo-san" felt slightly strange. Since, there was already a Gojo-sensei sitting beside them in the same room.
