"Jared, go get the car first," spoke Jared Quinn, "I'll pack things up."

Melody Thorne changed into new clothes, a black hat atop her head concealed her forehead, and a mask covered her face. Although attention had been diverted, there might still be some who kept their focus on the hospital.
"What's that awful smell?" Mrs. Quinn muttered, tidying up the things on the bed, "Why does it seem like something's burning?"
"Is there?" Melody Thorne took off her mask and indeed noticed a particularly pungent odor, growing stronger.
