"I skipped a grade in elementary school," Vivian answered earnestly.
"Look at other people's kids, they're the same age as Ethan, yet they're already top students at Silverwood U. But our kid... sigh..." Mrs. Hayes glanced at her son and couldn't help but let out a long sigh.
As soon as she finished speaking, Ethan, who had been leaning against the sofa backrest, turned his head and shot a casual glance at Vivian.
"So when's your birthday?" Mrs. Hayes continued to ask warmly.
"January 19th."
"Oh my, isn't that the same birthday as our Ethan! You two were born on the same year, same month, same day!" Mrs. Hayes exclaimed in surprise, continuing to ask Vivian, "So what time were you born at?"
"Uh..." Vivian thought for a moment then replied somewhat uncertainly, "I think it was around nine in the evening."
"Our Ethan was born at eleven at night, so you're over an hour older than him. Ethan should call you sister," Mrs. Hayes happily turned to her husband and said, "See, that's fate!"
"Yes, yes!!" Mr. Hayes echoed repeatedly, "Look at that, both born on the evening of January 19th, other people's kids get into Silverwood U with ease, and then look at ours, sigh..."
This sigh was almost identical to the one Mrs. Hayes just had.
Ethan pouted with disdain, "But she's short."
"What do you know! Good things come in small packages, and with you, it's all brawn and no brain! And you're still so smug about it!" Mrs. Hayes glared at her son disapprovingly after hearing his words.
But after she finished, she felt a little off, so she quickly turned to Vivian with a smile, "Of course, Auntie doesn't mean you're short. Actually, for a girl, your height is just right!"
Vivian sat on the sofa, maintaining an awkward yet polite smile.
After being enthusiastically offered a bunch of pineapples, grapes, peaches, and cantaloupes by Mrs. Hayes, Vivian finally couldn't help but speak, "Um, Auntie, I'm here to tutor Ethan today, and it's getting late. Why don't we get started?"
"Huh?? Oh, okay." Mrs. Hayes was momentarily stunned and then turned to Ethan saying, "Ethan, take Vivian to the study. Make sure to listen carefully, okay?"
"Oh..."
Ethan responded indifferently, got up reluctantly, and led Vivian towards the study.
Since Vivian was coming to tutor Ethan today, from early morning, Mrs. Hayes had been directing her husband to meticulously clean out the study, and just as Vivian entered, Mr. Hayes had finished cleaning.
The study in Ethan's house had a full-length window on one side, while the other three walls were covered with bookshelves.
As they walked into the study, the unique fresh ink scent of the books hit them immediately.
Centrally laid on the room was a carpet with traditional Chinese patterns, on top of which was a desk already set up with various textbooks and exercise books, with two chairs placed behind it.
Vivian followed Ethan inside, walking while looking at the books on the shelves beside her.
