***Cadiz***
I'd been watching them for five days now.
Not obviously, not in a way that would make either of them uncomfortable, but I noticed things.
Like how Aldrik would gravitate toward wherever Cassius was. During meals, in the library, even just passing through rooms—he'd find reasons to be nearby without making it obvious.
Or the way Cassius would unconsciously lean toward Aldrik during dinner, seeking contact he probably didn't even realize he was initiating.
Small things. Domestic things. The kind of things that spoke of familiarity built over time.
And that was what had been nagging at me.
I was in the nursery with the twins when the thought crystallized into something I couldn't ignore. Mirin was fussing in my arms while Raizel changed Cyrus, and I found myself replaying the timeline in my head.
Cassius had arrived in Sailcrest approximately three months ago. Maybe a bit more.
