Theresa was summoned to Schicksal Headquarters by Otto. She had no idea what kind of scheme her grandpa had hidden up his sleeve, but after thinking about her future allowance, she still decided to come.
"Wow, it's Theresa-sama."
"Hehehe, she's so cute."
"Theresa-sama, I'm your fan!"
"What an adorable face. I really want to kiss her."
"White thigh-highs are the best!!!"
The moment Theresa appeared at headquarters, she naturally drew the attention of many Valkyries.
Although Theresa was now the principal of St. Freya Academy and rarely participated on the battlefield anymore, she was still an S-rank Valkyrie in all but name, and she still had quite a few fans.
"Go do whatever you're supposed to be doing."
Theresa's eyebrow twitched. No matter how chaotic the world became, being this cute really made it impossible for her to look dignified.
These perverted Valkyries were just like Rita. They all coveted her body.
With all those gazes fixed on her, her short little legs had no choice but to speed up as she tried to quickly escape the Valkyries' stares.
"Good day, Theresa-sama. It has been far too long. I have missed you dearly."
Koji and Rita ran into Theresa. When Rita saw her, her eyes clearly lit up, filled with obvious joy.
"Oh, it's Rita," Theresa said flatly.
The Valkyries from earlier were still manageable. The Rita standing in front of her was the one who had the most improper intentions toward her.
She still clearly remembered how many times Rita had clung to her. Every time, she had been unable to resist. It could be said she avoided Rita like the plague, and she really, really did not want to be alone with her.
"White thigh-highs are amazing."
Koji carefully admired them. Theresa's leg shape suited white thigh-highs very well. They did not make her look bulky at all.
Rita nodded in agreement. Theresa truly was very suited to white thigh-highs. She also had many pictures of Theresa wearing them in her collection. Perhaps they should take them all out and appreciate them later.
A vein popped on Theresa's forehead. She felt her blood pressure shooting up.
These two shameless lolicons. Where exactly were their eyes looking? They were being so blatant about it. Did they even see her as a principal at all?
She had forgotten one thing.
Neither Rita nor Koji was a student of St. Freya Academy.
"I'm not talking to you anymore. I'm going to see my grandpa."
Theresa quickly left, almost as if she were running away.
Rita and Koji exchanged a smile.
Their thoughts were perfectly aligned.
Theresa really was adorable.
Inside the Bishop's office, Otto was slowly recounting everything he had done, bit by bit, so he still had not finished speaking.
Kallen's expression had already gone somewhat numb. Just listening to it was enough to send chills through her. The things Otto had done over the years could only be described as extreme.
Far too many people had died because of Otto.
"Do you not regret it?" Kallen asked.
After committing so many sins, if it had been anyone else, their mental defenses probably would have collapsed long ago.
Otto smiled faintly and said, "I do not regret it. If I were going to regret it after doing it, then I would never have done it in the first place."
From the moment he decided to save Kallen, he, Otto Apocalypse, had been mentally prepared to stake everything on it.
"Grandpa, what did you call me here for?"
Theresa did not knock. She simply pushed the door open and entered. They were family anyway, so there was no need to care about those formalities.
The moment she saw Kallen's face, Theresa fell silent for a moment. Then, with an ugly expression, she said, "Grandpa, you didn't start doing cloning experiments again, did you?"
Back then, she had seen what the other clones looked like, so she was naturally very familiar with them.
That was why, after seeing Kallen, anger and sorrow surged from the bottom of her heart.
"Theresa, this is your Grandma Kallen. She has now been revived," Otto said calmly.
"Grandma… Kallen?"
Theresa immediately revealed an extremely wise-looking expression, staring blankly at Kallen as her not-very-clever brain seemed to crash.
Kallen smiled helplessly. She could only acknowledge Theresa as her granddaughter. Otherwise, the generational difference between her and Otto would become a mess.
"So you're Theresa. You really are very cute," Kallen said.
Theresa did look quite similar to her when she was young, but Kallen felt that this girl seemed a little less intelligent. She was pretty sure she had not been this "wise" when she was a child.
"Are you really Saint Kallen?" Theresa asked in disbelief.
Asking her to call Kallen "Grandma" right now was basically impossible.
"The genuine article. Do you need me to prove it?" Kallen shrugged. She had not yet tried figuring out how she could prove her identity.
Otto had recognized her at once because he had engraved Kallen into his soul. Theresa, on the other hand, had only seen Kallen's photographs. She had never personally met this saint from five hundred years ago.
"No need. I believe you are Saint Kallen. The fact that you're sitting here is enough to prove everything." Theresa shook her head and calmed her surging emotions.
"Grandpa, did you call me here because of Saint Kallen?"
Otto nodded and said, "Yes and no. I originally intended to hand the position of Schicksal Overseer over to Kallen, but she refused. She said you should inherit it instead."
"What?!"
Theresa's voice abruptly rose as she looked at Otto in disbelief.
At this very moment, she already wanted to turn around and go back the way she came. She had at least some idea of how exhausting it was to be Schicksal Overseer. Just thinking about it made her scalp go numb.
Once she became Schicksal's Overseer, she would no longer have time to read manga or drink bitter melon juice.
That kind of life was absolutely not what she wanted.
"Grandpa, you've already done it for more than five hundred years. Your body is still strong, so there's no need to rush into stepping down," Theresa said seriously.
She really could not do it. That kind of life was basically hell.
Otto was speechless.
His body was indeed strong. After all, it was a soulium body. In terms of hardness, it could probably rank among the top few on Earth. It was definitely sturdy enough.
"Since Theresa is also unwilling to do it, then you should continue, Otto. After all, the Honkai is still here, and Earth still needs you," Kallen said with a pursed smile.
Earlier, when she heard Otto say he wanted to hand the position over to her, she had refused without even thinking.
Could she not understand herself?
She was not suited to being Schicksal Overseer at all.
She knew absolutely nothing about how to be Schicksal Overseer. She would probably end up tearing Schicksal apart and rebuilding it from scratch.
"Fine."
Otto helplessly spread his hands. Just as Theresa had said, he had already sat in this position for more than five hundred years. Sitting in it for a few more years would not make much difference.
"Otto, I'm hungry. Where is the cafeteria here?" Kallen asked.
If this were the old Schicksal, she would still know where to go. But in this Schicksal, she could not find anything.
"Why would you need the cafeteria? I'll cook for you myself."
Otto directly brought the two of them to his residence. The kitchen inside had everything one could need. If Kallen was going to eat something, then of course he had to personally cook it.
Theresa felt somewhat expectant. Her grandpa's cooking was very delicious. It was just that, ever since she went to St. Freya Academy, she had eaten it far fewer times.
