Kallen had the classic white hair and blue eyes of the Kaslana family. Her long white hair was tied into a braid, and she wore the attire of a saintess, marked with the emblem of old Schicksal.
After arriving in this era, she had not changed into modern clothes. She was still wearing the same outfit from back then.
Naturally, Otto was not unfamiliar with Kallen dressed like this. Especially the circular hole in the clothing around her abdomen. That had been caused when a Honkai Beast pierced through her body.
Now, aside from the hole still left in her clothes, there was not the slightest injury on her abdomen.
"Kallen…"
Overseer Otto straightened his posture and looked at Kallen with burning eyes. Even without touching her with his own hands, he could be completely certain.
This was Kallen.
The genuine Kallen.
Aside from shock, he was also somewhat flustered. Kallen had suddenly returned, and he had not yet prepared himself to face her.
"Otto, since your recent efforts against the Honkai have been quite effective, I brought Kallen over to see you ahead of time."
After Koji finished speaking, Otto showed an indescribable expression.
Could he not have told him in advance?
At least give him some time to prepare.
Pulling a sudden ambush like this was a bit too much for his heart to handle.
His brain was running at high speed, thinking about what he should say.
Although he had always looked forward to meeting Kallen, now that he was truly seeing her, his mouth simply refused to form words.
Amber looked at Kallen and was slightly surprised. The face beneath her own eyepatch was extremely similar to Kallen's.
From a biological standpoint, she should probably call Kallen "Mother."
Without Kallen, there would be no Amber.
"You must be Amber, right?"
Kallen knew Otto needed some time to recover, so she turned to look at Amber.
"It is an honor to meet you for the first time, Saintess-sama," Amber said respectfully.
She knew Kallen's status. It stood above even Otto, the Overseer of Schicksal.
As long as Kallen was willing, Otto could resign as Schicksal's Overseer on the spot, and Kallen would become the undisputed new Overseer of Schicksal.
And if there were any voices of dissent, that would be even easier to handle.
Otto would directly send them to the Pacific Ocean to drink tea.
"Just call her Mom," Koji said with a smile.
Amber: "…"
Kallen: "…"
Although there was technically nothing wrong with calling her that, both of them felt extremely embarrassed. For no reason at all, one of them had suddenly gained a daughter, while the other had suddenly gained a mother.
For Kallen, she had only been in her twenties when she died. She was not even older than Amber.
Suddenly having such a grown-up daughter was something she was very unaccustomed to.
The corner of Otto's mouth twitched. If Kallen wanted to acknowledge Amber as her daughter, then that would not be a problem.
"Let's forget that. Just call me Kallen," Kallen said, shaking her head.
She had not asked Amber to call her "big sister" either. After all, Amber's age was right there, and Kallen did not need such a grown-up younger sister.
"Kallen-san, would that be acceptable?" Amber was still very respectful.
Kallen nodded, then looked at Amber's orange eyepatch and said, "Can you take off the eyepatch and let me see?"
Amber hesitated for a moment.
When she was outside, she had never taken off her mask.
"Amber, do as Kallen says," Otto said with a smile.
He already understood that Kallen knew about the things he had done.
However, he did not mind. He had never intended to hide them in the first place. He had planned to lay everything bare before Kallen.
Amber took off the orange eyepatch, revealing a face that bore an extremely high resemblance to Kallen's.
"!"
At that moment, even Kallen could not help falling into a brief daze.
They really looked alike.
When the two of them stood together, they looked just like biological sisters.
"Well, that's Otto for you," Koji said in his usual unreliable tone. "If it were someone else, after cloning a Kallen, they'd probably treat that clone as Kallen's replacement, then have ten children with her."
But Otto would not do that.
There was only one Kallen in his heart.
If he really did things the way Koji described, he would not need to go through so much trouble.
There were many Kallens in bubble worlds, and those were not even clones. He could simply bring one of them away.
"Please don't make that kind of joke," Amber said, almost unable to keep a straight face.
Ten children?
That was far too exaggerated.
It was practically shocking.
"My friend, you know this. There is only one saintess in my heart," Otto said.
Kallen pressed her lips together.
She also knew who Otto was talking about.
"Otto, did you observe that bubble world with the priest that Welt created?" Koji asked curiously.
"You mean that one? I have observed it. What surprised me was that Welt actually shaped the version of me in that bubble world into that kind of image," Otto said with a smile.
He was Joachim's father's murderer.
And yet, in that bubble world, Welt had not portrayed him as someone utterly heinous.
Instead, he had turned him into a wise elder.
Priest Otto.
That was a bubble world even Otto himself would envy.
Although that version of him had likewise been unable to walk with Kallen until the very end of life, he had still shared an unforgettable memory with her.
There was no such regret.
He would not become someone like the current Otto.
If he could have had that sort of experience as well, perhaps he too would have become a priest.
"Right, there's something I'm very curious about. What exactly is the relationship between Kallen and that Yae Sakura? Otto, you actually turned Yae Sakura's youkai fox form into a boss in a game," Koji said, brimming with gossip.
The moment Otto heard the name of that pink-haired fox, his expression visibly darkened.
"Sakura? We were very good friends," Kallen said, her face full of exasperation.
She and Sakura were not in that kind of yuri relationship.
"You made her into a boss in a game? Great Inventor, what does that mean?"
Otto's expression suddenly stiffened.
The reason he had made her into a boss in the game was, of course, because of a bit of personal bias.
After all, beating up a boss felt very satisfying and was a great way to relieve stress.
"So, you were jealous?" Kallen teased.
She was not someone who understood nothing.
How could she fail to see what Otto was thinking?
This was truly far too interesting.
Otto's expression was starting to slip.
Kallen had actually found out about this.
"Let me play it some other day. I wonder if it's fun," Kallen said.
"What's the name?"
Otto: "…"
When Kallen had not been here, naming it that had been no big deal.
But now that Kallen had returned, he truly felt a little embarrassed.
The bullet fired back then had landed squarely between his brows today.
Amber held back her laughter.
She could not laugh.
This was her direct superior. If she laughed, she would definitely be fired.
Koji had no such concerns. He directly said the name of Otto's favorite game, a game developed with a considerable amount of Schicksal funding, a game basically every Valkyrie had played.
"The Kallen Fantasy series."
"Huh?"
