After gaining 'resilient soul' I used my nether affinity to damage my soul, and while it was regenerating, I sparred with Diablo.
We trained with weapons, magic, and skills making sure to cover every area. We even made sure to even level up our less used skills.
During this time, I revealed the effects of 'inheritance of power' to my parents and Blake. They wanted to know about how I gained the skill, but I always avoided it and they eventually gave up since it was best that as little people as possible new about that skill.
It may have been a bit hasty to reveal it to them, but I wanted to share some of my skills with them to increase their safety, and to increase the speed they leveled up.
Among the skills I shared with them were 'greater general regeneration,' 'novice supreme commander,' and 'lesser damage resistance'.
I figured these were the best skills to share with them as it would ensure that as long as they weren't instantly killed, they could win almost any battle. And since my dad was a leader of the local government forces a powerful commanding skill would prove essential.
Soon enough nearly two weeks has passed, and it was time for the exam.

Nearly all of my skills leveled up at least once, and many of my core skills have nearly reached the max level of their tier. I was extremely happy with this since this meant that my skills could allow for maximum effectiveness while not taking up too much soul storage.
The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the growth of my soul stat. Even after regenerating from soul damage nearly 24 7 for almost two weeks, my soul only grew by a bit over 1.
I may have been a bit frustrated by the little growth, but it was still indeed growth and ignoring pure numbers, my soul grew 10% stronger.
This showed much more promise in the long run as it meant that, not only can my problem be solved, but in just a few months I could probably have more than enough storage for any skill I want.
After I finished reviewing my status I decided to pick up my pace, and after a short couple minutes, I made it to the school.
The principle was standing by a small podium with a serious expression on his face.
His white hair and red eyes always made him appear serious but that was especially the case today. Instead of seeming lazily regal like usual, he looked like he just got out of a negotiation and he lost.
Due to this almost everyone who saw him didn't dare to talk too loudly, but it didn't silence them completely. Afterall, this was the second biggest day of the year other than the awakening.
Soon after I finished looking over the scene, I started to look for my class and after a few seconds I found them.
As I ran over to the area of my class, my teacher stopped me for a second.
"Hey Lucious, before everyone gets here make sure to go over the regulations for the exam." He said as he handed me a small packet. "You probably already went over it and everything but it's best to go over it again before the speech."
Thanking him, I started to skim through it to make sure I didn't forget anything, but it was still as I remembered.
The exam will take part in three different tests. First is a paper exam which tests knowledge. Second is fighting against opponents of increasing power to test individual abilities. And third is a mass trial in a simulated environment.
I was completely confident in my score for the first and third test, but I was slightly nervous when it came to the second. I may have a lot of skills but in terms of pure power... Let's just say I would be surprised if I made it in the top 20.
Other than that info on the exams there was nothing I really needed to pay attention too. It was all rules like no drugs, no supplements, no killing, and other common sense of what not to do.
Either way I still skimmed through it as I waited for everyone to arrive and after 20 minutes, they did.
Once everyone was here the principle gave a speech on the importance of the exam, but I wasn't really listening. It was basically just a summary of the packet and some encouragement. It was only at the end did something interesting come up and I paid close attention.
"Now students, there is something you need to remember about this year's exam, this year the difficulty will be increased."
"Along with terrorist groups like the 'Abyssal Order' being at an all-time high there are also many high-ranking figures coming to observe the exam. In order to show the potential of the younger generation and to train you it was decided that a 35% increase in the exam difficulty will happen."
Hearing this many students started to worry, and some started whispering to each other but before anything could happen the principle spoke up again.
"Before you start to panic it was determined that the admission score for several guilds and positions will be lowered by 45% to grant everyone more opportunities. There will also be an increase in prizes awarded to the top scorers to motivate you."
"I speak for everyone when I say that I hope for all of you to succeed in the exam and go to bring honor to your families and the school."
With his speech finishing up our classes were led to several busses where we would be driven to a formation which would send us to the testing area.
As I got in the bus, I noticed Blake and decided to sit with him and see how his status has changed.
