Chapter 57 - Operation Hinata

The sun had long since fallen behind the walls of Konoha, leaving the village bathed in moonlight and quiet. Six months have passed since the rebirth of Uzushiogakure. Now Raven's real body stood within her small bedroom in the Kamizaki household. Her crimson eyes shimmered under the soft lamplight as she clenched her small hands, feeling chakra thrum beneath her skin. "Not bad," she murmured. "I can channel a full twenty-one standard units of Kakashi chakra now."

From the windowsill, Yumi's tails twitched lazily. "That's nothing, Raven. You might be approaching the level of an average jōnin, but we still haven't tested the One-Tailed Beast Cloak yet."

Raven exhaled and brushed her hair from her face. "You need to relax about that cloak, Yumi. But you're right. With my Yin Seal perfected under Tsunade's guidance, I can store natural chakra in a secondary pool on my forehead. If I ever need emergency reserves, I can draw from it instantly."

Yumi nodded slowly. "Excellent work. And what about your Strength of a Hundred technique? Or that Wood Release training?"

Raven groaned quietly. "Don't even ask. I can get grass to sprout and that's about it. It'll take years before I can use it effectively. As for the Strength of a Hundred—my clone already mastered it, so I can replicate it anytime. It lets me move this three-year-old body like an elite shinobi."

The fox tilted her head, curiosity glinting in her golden eyes. "So, what's the plan tonight?"

Raven looked toward the window, the air around her shifting as her tone hardened. "Tonight the Kumogakure envoys make their move. They came here under the guise of peace talks, but their mission is to infiltrate the Hyūga compound and kidnap Hinata Hyūga to steal the Byakugan."

Yumi's tail flicked sharply. "And if you don't stop them, the Hyūga will sacrifice someone to avoid war, right?"

"Exactly." Raven's expression darkened. "In the original course of events, Neji's father, Hizashi Hyūga, was forced to die in his brother's place as payment for Hinata's return. That tragedy shaped Neji's hatred for years. I'm not letting that happen again. Not in my timeline."

"So we're saving a cute heiress and preventing a political disaster." Yumi stretched lazily. "Sounds noble enough. We wouldn't want Neji to grow up bitter."

"Precisely," Raven replied. "Hinata's too important to lose."

Yumi tilted her head, watching her carefully. "Why's she so important to you anyway?"

"You'll find out in time."

The fox huffed. "You say that about Mei and Tsunade too. You're awfully secretive for someone planning to change the world."

Raven smiled faintly. "We'll talk later. For now, I have a heiress to rescue."

She approached the window, unlatching it quietly as the cool night air swept inside. A quick seal brought forth a perfect shadow clone that settled into her bed beneath the covers, its breathing slow and steady. She dressed in her black stealth uniform, mask drawn over her face, hair tied back tightly.

Yumi jumped down onto the desk. "I'll stay here then?"

"Yes," Raven said. "If anyone checks in, let them see me studying for the ninja academy."

"Fine." Yumi sighed, tails curling. "Go be a hero."

Raven crouched on the windowsill, the night wind brushing her cloak. She leapt outward in silence, landing lightly on the nearest rooftop. From there she ran, her footsteps soundless, leaping from roof to roof as the moon lit her path. The Hokage Monument gleamed in the distance, the village spread beneath her like a painting of peace hiding a shadow beneath.

Her thoughts sharpened with each bound. "I can't let Yumi find out about my long-term plans. I'm still too young for romance, but one day… the world will open to me. Powerful women, loyal allies—an empire born of strength and desire."

A faint chuckle escaped her. "If the Outsider could cross dimensions to reach my world, then I can reach others too. And saving Hinata is just the beginning."

She glanced behind her, half expecting Yumi's chakra signature to appear. "That nosy fox better not be following me."

Her gaze softened for a moment, a faint shadow crossing her expression. "My former husband's death—cut down by Obito—ended any interest I ever had in men. I'll build my own world now… one filled with women who'll never betray me."

She accelerated, chakra focusing in her legs. The Hyūga compound came into view, the tall wooden walls lined with patrolling guards. She landed silently atop the outer wall, crouched low, eyes scanning the courtyard below. Faint figures moved in the shadows—chakra signatures she didn't recognize.

"They're already here," she whispered.

She adjusted her gloves, her chakra suppression perfect, and pressed her fingers against the cold tile beneath her. "Time to make sure history changes tonight."
