The roots of the colossal tree stretched across the island like living arteries, its glow feeding every blade of grass and whisper of wind. The ruins of Uzushiogakure have transformed into a thriving city once more. From the high terrace of her tower, Raven looked down upon thousands of new residents—refugees, orphans, and survivors—each one marked by her seal of concealment. No one could leave, and no one could speak of this place. "This isn't an obedience seal," she thought. "It's protection. The world isn't ready for this paradise yet."
Riko approached from behind, bowing deeply. "My lady, the survivors Lady Mei saved from Kirigakure continue to arrive. Your low-level puppets—those false corpses—have convinced everyone the Bloodline Purge continues. No one suspects they were saved."
Raven folded her arms, her tone calm. "Good. Creating simple vessels with my Rinnegan takes no effort. As long as the world believes the purges go on, we can keep extracting the living."
Riko allowed herself a brief smile. "Your physical body is three years old now, isn't it?"
Raven nodded. "Correct. And soon I'll have to handle matters personally. Mei Terumi, Tsunade Senju, and I are already aligning the foundations. The future's pattern is changing, Riko—and I'll be the one weaving it."
Riko tilted her head. "What sort of matters, my lady?"
Raven's eyes shifted toward the sea. "Soon delegates from Kumogakure, the Village Hidden in the Clouds, will visit Konoha. During that visit they'll attempt to infiltrate the Hyūga compound and kidnap Hinata Hyūga to steal the Byakugan. She's far too important to lose. This time, I will act myself instead of using a shadow clone."
Riko's voice tightened. "So your real body will intervene?"
Raven's expression remained composed. "Exactly. I'll enter the Ninja Academy under my current identity, begin weaving my influence, and when the time comes… Danzo Shimura will fall. Tsunade will replace the Third Hokage. Konoha will join the alliance I'm building."
Riko shivered slightly. "Orochimaru's name appears often in Root reports. He terrifies me—he stares at people like a snake deciding who to swallow first."
Raven's tone was calm, cold, certain. "He deserves his reputation—but he won't escape judgment. I owe him for every life he stole and every body he desecrated."
Riko nodded slowly. "And Danzo?"
Raven's eyes narrowed. "Danzo's already rotting from within. Each day more of his Root operatives serve me without him knowing. Every mission he orders strengthens the very force that will bury him."
Riko gave a dark chuckle. "If he knew the truth—that every 'assassination' he has authorized only expandeds your followers he would spit blood."
Raven's voice stayed even. "Let him choke on his own schemes. When the Chūnin Exams arrive, everything changes. That event will ignite the next phase of my plans—and Orochimaru won't be the only one preparing a surprise."
