Chapter 284 - Chapter 284: Ice Archer Ashe

On the snowfield, Axi's team followed a string of giant footprints, tracking a Faceless One.

Inute said, "Nature tells me there's a Yak People village ahead."

"It seems the Faceless One didn't go there," Adal said. "Yak People and Tauren are distant relatives. If a Faceless One appeared there, a battle would surely ensue."

Light nodded, "Tauren never lack courage."

Sorey: "It seems he either went south or north."

"We're going north!"

Axi said decisively, "I've seen a map of Northrend. To the north is Sola Basin, a testing ground for the Titan Guardian Freya. During the War of Ulduar, the Red Dragon Queen once went to Sola Basin to seek help from Freya's avatar."

"Since there's an avatar of a Titan Guardian there, why would these Faceless Ones still go there?" Sorey asked, puzzled.

"Because there's only Freya's avatar there. Once the Faceless Ones enter, they can boldly cross the entire basin to reach Icecrown Glacier. When my father made the Ancient Ice Coffin, he melted a large amount of solid ice from Icecrown Glacier, which created many passable areas. The Faceless Ones can easily pass through Icecrown Glacier, go to the Snowflow Plains, and reach the vicinity of Ulduar."

Axi said in a deep voice, "They want to rescue Yogg..."

"Shh!" Inute quickly stopped Axi. "Don't say that name. He can still watch us even when sealed."

Axi curled her lips in disdain, "He'd better come out of the seal, so I can personally kill him."

Everyone instantly looked up at the sky.

Seeing her companions' expressions, Axi grew anxious, "I'm telling the truth, why don't you believe me?"

"It's true..."

Everyone said perfunctorily, hurrying north, "Let's go! Otherwise, we might not be able to stop the Faceless One before it enters Sola Basin."

Axi stomped her foot in anger, "You just wait, I will personally kill Yogg-Saron to prove it to you."

"Yes, yes, yes..."

Everyone agreed verbally, but no one took it to heart. This princess was good in every way, except for being too self-important. Even Gale couldn't kill Yogg-Saron back then, only sealing him. Axi's current strength couldn't even compare to one of Gale's fingers, so how could she kill Yogg-Saron?

A few hours later, everyone indeed caught up with the Faceless One.

"Don't let him get away!"

Light immediately charged. As the next chief, he had already inherited his father's Eagle Spear. Although he was much smaller in size, Light was not afraid of the Faceless One.

Born a year after the War of the Ancients, he was the same age as Tydasshid. Forty-something for an elf was just coming of age, but for a Tauren, he was already in his prime. This training expedition was his father Hu'en Highmountain's assessment of him. If he succeeded, he would formally take over as chief.

Although he couldn't match his father in strength, Light's combat experience was still very rich. He didn't confront the Faceless One head-on but chose to entangle him, waiting for his teammates to get into position.

Inute summoned roots, entangling the Faceless One. Sorey immediately cast Chain Lightning, causing only a tiny scorch mark on the Faceless One's surface. Adal cast Frost Nova, freezing the Faceless One's lower limbs, giving Light an opportunity to attack.

He leaped high, intending to slay the Faceless One.

However, the Faceless One had already anticipated this. He raised his pincers high, stabbing towards Light's ribs. Light had nowhere to dodge in mid-air and could only grit his teeth, trading injury for a kill.

Just then, a huge crystal arrow struck the Faceless One's head, knocking him unconscious.

Light passed through the pincers and plunged the Eagle Spear into the Faceless One's skull.

The Faceless One crashed to the ground, and the adventure team completed their first hunting mission.

Light was greatly relieved and quickly thanked Axi, "Princess Axi, thank you for saving me."

Axi proudly lifted her chin, "You're welcome, it's nothing. From now on, you can call me the Frost Archer. In Northrend, no one is better at archery than me."

"Long live the Frost Archer!"

Everyone humored Axi, not feeling embarrassed at all. Axi had been praised since childhood and was accustomed to it.

After dealing with this Faceless One, everyone debriefed the battle and then decided to continue the pursuit. The Faceless One's actions proved Axi's correctness, so the Faceless One that escaped earlier must have also taken this route. By following this path, they would surely catch up to more Faceless Ones.

As soon as they thought of it, they immediately continued their pursuit north. Sure enough, just before reaching Sola Basin, they once again found Faceless One footprints. They followed the footprints into Sola Basin, continued their rapid tracking, and soon discovered the trace of a Faceless One.

Fearing the Faceless One might escape, they surrounded him at top speed.

Unexpectedly, the Faceless One was not afraid at all; instead, he looked at them mockingly.

"Who gave you the courage to pursue us?"

Us???

Everyone instantly became alert, but it was already too late. A Faceless One appeared on both the left and right sides of the group, encircling them.

"Retreat quickly!"

Axi shouted loudly, firing a crystal arrow at the Faceless One in the middle, stunning him.

Light charged at the Faceless One on the left, temporarily entangling him. Adal used Frost Nova on the Faceless One on the right, controlling him.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Inute immediately transformed into a leopard, leaping a few times to get behind Axi. Sorey also ran wildly with his short legs, quickly rushing to the very front.

Axi retreated while firing Frost Arrows. Although the Faceless Ones had strong frost resistance, Axi specialized in Frost Spells, and the Frost Arrows she fired still slowed down the two Faceless Ones.

Seeing the Faceless One in the middle regain consciousness, Axi shouted, "Go!"

Adal activated Flash, and Light used Bull Rush on a distant rabbit, instantly surpassing Axi.

Axi condensed a large amount of frost energy and released it onto the ground. A giant iceberg appeared in front of her, blocking the path of the three Faceless Ones.

Then, she shot a rope arrow at a tree behind her, swinging on the rope to disengage from combat.

"Boom!"

A loud noise came as a tall Faceless One pushed down a large tree, blocking the team's path. A barrage of Shadow energy gathered on his pincers, about to be released at the group.

Just then, a whooshing sound echoed, and the Faceless One crashed to the ground, the condensed Shadow energy exploding, blowing off half of his head and neck.

It was then that everyone noticed a sword stuck in the Faceless One's back.

Axi cried out in surprise, "Aunt Nasha—"

Nasha descended from the sky on a hippogryph, saying reproachfully, "You were too overconfident."
