"I was not—" Raizen started, but then he shut his mouth immediately, understanding the lizard's move. First, it made itself look good, second it made Raizen look like an idiot, and third it saved him from all the questions since nobody in the room really understood how Eon summoning and advanced constructs work.
"He was so confident." It didn't look at him. "He executed it, the result from like a couple of hours of restless study, and something did come through."
Nobody in the living room was breathing.
"Me," said the lizard.
It let that sit for a few seconds, making sure all the eyes were still on it.
"One inch long," it added bitterly. "One. Inch. I have spent every day since attempting to make peace with what that boy's Eon control did to my proportions."
"You're a dragon," Lynea whispered.
"I was supposed to be a dragon."
