Violet lowered herself onto a boulder, exhaustion weighing heavily on her. She watched the prince pace through the forest, muttering to himself as he pointed in different directions, seemingly trying to make sense of their surroundings.
"Your Highness," she called, finally gaining his attention. "Are we lost?"
She was almost certain they were. They had passed this particular spot at least three times already.
"Of course not," Henry answered immediately, scratching the back of his neck. His voice almost sounded convincing, but his expression betrayed him.
"Ah, I am certain this is the right route. Come now."
He gestured for her to follow, but Violet didn't move. They had already taken that path, and she had no intention of walking it again.
"Why aren't you coming?" Henry turned to her with a raised brow.
"Because, Your Highness, we've already taken that route, and it led us straight to a giant mountain." She threw her hands up in frustration.
