The following morning, rays of sunlight slipped through the windows of the Crown Prince's chambers, falling gently across the red-haired girl sleeping peacefully on his bed. The sudden warmth caused a frown to form on Dydra's face as she turned toward the other side, only to bump her head against something solid.
Her frown deepened at the unexpected obstruction, and she slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first, but as her eyes gradually adjusted to the morning light, she stared at the strange sight before her in confusion.
For a moment, she thought she was looking at a brown wall. But as her sleep-fogged mind began to clear, realization slowly dawned on her.
Her eyes widened.
She immediately pushed herself upright, her heart pounding as she looked around the room. Only then did she realize that she had spent the night in the Crown Prince's bed—and even worse, she had been sleeping right beside him.
