Chapter 79 - Beat ⁷⁹★Hands Held, Hearts Teased☆

"Hands Held, Hearts Teased

Jin headed toward the meeting room, but his mind was still in that studio—the place where his Smart was.

The staff and the models were already gathered, all waiting for Jin with clear impatience.

He opened the door and stepped into the room.

All eyes immediately turned to him, scanning him from head to toe.

They were clearly surprised to see Jin dressed like that for a meeting—so sporty, so comfortable,so effortlessly confident.

Nova smiled instantly, seductively, fixing Jin with a smoldering gaze.

She almost undressed him with her eyes, without a trace of shame, her imagination drifting from one extreme to the other.

She lingered for a few moments inside that fantasy, melting into it, until a sharp voice pulled her back to reality.

Jin greeted everyone and then headed toward his seat, never once letting his eyes drift in her direction.

She noticed it, yet still refused to look away from him.

Thankfully, Smart isn't here, she thought with a faint smile, already set on taking advantage of any opportunity.

Jin started going over a few key points that were almost the most important for the upcoming event.

He was very focused and wanted to explain everything himself.

With short, clear sentences, he went through the plan, the stage setup, the expectations, and everything else.

Also present at the meeting was the Model Coordinator. After going over a few general points, she turned to Jin.

"I think Smart should be part of this runway," she said.

Jin looked at her and simply asked, "Why?"

"Because he has all the elements to be a model," she explained.

"A unique European look that will give the event an interesting vibe.

He's the best when it comes to posing, but I think he should shine on the runway too."

At that moment, Nova jumped in, her voice boiling with anger.

"I don't think Smart is qualified for this! He can't walk like a real model!"

Jin gave her a cold look.

"Nova, it's not your place to speak on this, okay?"

Her blood nearly boiled, and her anger flared even more—but she had to stay quiet.

Jin took a deep breath, leaned back in his chair, and spoke in a calm voice.

"I don't think Smart would agree to this. From the start, he only said yes for the photos, not for the runway."

Deep down, Jin didn't want Smart walking the runway either.

All eyes would be on him during that runway, and he couldn't bear it.

Jealousy… it would consume him.

Just then, his phone buzzed.

A message appeared on the screen.

Smart

✉️ Bubu!! 😍

Jin laughed as he typed back.

✉️ Missing me?

Smart

✉️ Nope

Jin

✉️ Feeling like getting punished?

Smart quickly snapped a photo and sent it.

✉️ Can you punish this innocent face!!

Jin stared at that cute photo of him.

Still calling yourself innocent, huh? he thought, smiling to himself.

Jin

✉️ Yes!!

Smart

✉️ Who am I?

Jin

✉️ Smart!!

Smart

✉️ Wrong answer!

Think carefully ☺️

Jin smiled softly, but it caught the attention of the entire staff.

It was the first time they'd seen that smile on his face.

Nova, meanwhile, just thinking about the reason behind that smile, nearly lost her mind.

Jin lifted his head, and everyone facing him quickly averted their eyes.

He started typing again.

Jin

✉️ My babe…

Smart

✉️ Focus on work now… kiss

Jin took a deep breath, barely able to wait for this meeting to be over.

Nova watched, boiling with a quiet anger, trying every gesture, every move to catch his attention.

But it was useless.

"Mei," Jin called.

"Have you contacted Liu, the model we agreed on?"

"Yes, boss," Mei replied.

"He'll be there for the runway opening. Don't worry, his participation is confirmed."

Liu was one of the most famous models in China at the moment, and Jin had decided to have him open the runway.

A little further from the meeting room, Smart was stretched out on the sofa.

After finishing his playful texting with his boyfriend, he got up and wandered around, taking in every corner of the studio.

He picked up some of the sketches Jin had left on the table and was amazed.

"Who is this insanely talented guy?" he whispered to himself, pride swelling inside.

Then, a voice inside his head answered, firm and clear:

"He's yours. Only yours. No one else's."

His intense little self-talk was interrupted by the phone ringing.

Han's name lit up the screen.

Smart picked up the phone and spoke right away.

📞 "Hey, my little baby, you awake?"

📞 "Hmm…" Han's tired voice came through.

"Yeah, I'm awake… still feeling kinda dazed. Where are you?"

📞 "I'm at Deep Style."

📞 "What? Didn't you have the day off today?"

📞 "Yeah, but Jin came and picked me up. Now I'm just waiting for him to finish the meeting."

Han was quiet for a moment.

📞 "Alright, I'm coming! Let's grab a coffee while your boyfriend wraps up the meeting."

And just like that, he hung up, not giving Smart a chance to refuse.

"Uh… why did he hang up like that? What's my baby plotting!" Smart whispered, wandering around the studio again, taking in every little detail.

It wasn't long before Han arrived, and the two of them went to grab a coffee nearby.

It was the same café where Leo had taken Smart the first time — a place that had completely amazed him.

Smart ran his fingers through Han's hair.

"Missed me coming here?" he teased.

Han looked him in the eyes and played it cool.

"Hmm… missed you, my shit. Just wanted someone to have coffee with," he replied.

Smart laughed softly, deciding not to tease him any further.

Han ordered a strong coffee — he needed to wake up after last night — while Smart went for a warm cappuccino.

The view in front of them was simply breathtaking.

The street, the ambiance… it gave off such an incredible, cinematic vibe.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

The meeting ended, and Jin rushed straight to the office!

He stepped into the studio and found it empty.

"Smart… where the hell are you?" he whispered, his voice tinged with frustration.

He pulled out his phone and called.

Smart answered immediately.

📞 "Where are you? Why aren't you in the studio?" Jin asked, his voice sharp.

📞 "Jin, I'm at the café we usually go to," Smart replied calmly.

Jin took a deep breath.

📞 "The café? Alone?"

📞 "Nope, Han's here with me," Smart said, his tone relaxed and casual.

At that moment, Jin hung up the phone without another word.

He downed a glass of alcohol in one go and set it down.

Then he grabbed his phone and made another call.

📞 "Hey," a voice came through the screen. "How's everything going?"

📞 "When are you coming? I told you I need your help," Jin's voice was sharp, impatient.

📞 "Wow, this guy's really different, huh? Can't you handle things yourself like back in the old days?"

Jin poured another drink and took a deep breath.

📞 "I can't handle things the same way anymore! Smart would get hurt, and I won't let that happen!"

📞 "Jin… is that you? Am I really talking to Jin? Come on, hand me over your Jin on the phone," the voice laughed, teasing loudly.

📞 "You jerk, shut your mouth!" Jin snapped, furious.

📞 "Okay, okay… Leo? Can't he just help out?"

📞 "Hmm, Leo!! He's just waiting to be a bottom," Jin chuckled lightly.

"I can't use him! I want him to enjoy his feelings!"

From the other side, a soft laugh echoed through the phone.

📞 "And what about me? You gonna use me, asshole?"

📞 "Oh, yes! I need you… and your charm! You always hit the mark, never disappoint," Jin said, grinning.

Jin smirked mischievously, clearly plotting something in his head.

📞 "Hmm, now I get why you need me!

Still, I come out on top in this," he chuckled.

📞 "Yeah, it's exactly what you're thinking," Jin said calmly.

📞 "Okay, okay… I'll be there as soon as I can! Wait a bit!

But hey… you know how to welcome me, right?

I haven't changed."

📞 "Here you go again… always so cheeky.

Alright, just for your welcome—one, or should I bring more?"

📞 "📞 "Hmm… maybe two will be enough… just to get me started," he teased, his voice low and playful over the phone.

📞 "Fuck! You haven't changed a bit.

Don't take too long getting here!"

Jin hung up and drained his glass without a second thought.

He threw on a cap, slid on a pair of dark shades, and stepped out of the studio in one smooth motion.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Smart and Han were sitting close, enjoying their time at the café—laughing, chatting, and teasing each other.

Han was finally starting to feel calmer, a bit more clear-headed, leaving last night behind.

"Han," Smart whispered quickly, almost like time was running out, "if Jin shows up and starts asking questions, you need to dodge them.

Don't say a word about last night… and definitely nothing about work in the 'Light."

"Actually… better if you don't say a word at all," Smart teased, leaning closer.

"Just play the fool. Honestly, the deeper you think about it, the better you pull off that role… and, well, you look pretty cute doing it."

Han laughed, shaking his head, knowing Smart was just joking.

Then he asked quickly, "So… any secrets on the horizon?"

Smart took a deep breath.

"Hmm… for now, yes."

"Reason? Don't tell me you're scared of Jin—I wouldn't believe it."

Smart just smirked, raising an eyebrow.

Han paused for a moment, then his eyes widened.

"Ah… I get it now!" he said, a little louder.

"What?" Smart asked, genuinely surprised.

"You're putting my advice into practice… acting all cute and naive on purpose, just to make it work for you," Han teased.

Smart chuckled softly.

"Hehe… just watch what you say. Nothing gets past Jin, and he might just tease you back."

"Mmm, trust me!

You know my mouth stays shut—won't make a sound.

And I'll even help you make Jin fall for you even more…

so much that he'll be completely crazy about you."

"Don't do a thing!

Just don't talk too much," Smart said, tugging his cheek firmly.

"Okok… I told you, I'm a pro at this.

So please… just leave it all in my hands."

Smart rolled his eyes.

"Oh god…" he whispered.

"I know… you're probably begging the gods for a bit of my cleverness— and honestly, you do need a little smarts to keep a man for yourself."

"Heh… you're used to girls letting you play the dominant role.

But just wait until you meet Jin…

then we'll see if your cleverness even works in practice!"

"I told you! It's easy… just takes a little strategy, which I naturally have."

"My brain was born to be a genius.

It's just genetics.

Some people are born with this gift… hmm, some aren't."

"But don't worry.

You're lucky to have me — I'll teach you everything."

He rested his hand on his chin and let his mind wander.

In his head, scenes played out as if he were a real genius, winning award after important award.

Smart lightly tapped him on the head.

"Enough with the bragging!

Now tell me… how was last night with that girl?"

"What girl?" he asked.

"Come on, don't act like you don't know.

There was a moment I couldn't find you. I asked Ren, and he told me where you were.

And honestly… I saw almost the whole scene," Smart raised an eyebrow.

"Damn… and I thought I got out of their line of sight," Han muttered, flicking his lighter.

"You really had to watch the whole thing? Didn't it embarrass you?"

"Embarrassed? Please… when weren't *you* embarrassed, drowning that girl in kisses in front of everyone? And now you're worried about me watching?"

Han took a sip of his coffee.

"It was just a moment… nothing serious happened."

"A moment, my ass… that lasted for minutes.

What did you expect? Sex… in front of everyone?

'Cause that part… didn't happen.

Everything else? Kisses, touches, hands everywhere…"

Han cut him off fast, not letting him go any further.

"Eh, okay… at least you and Ren got it—I'm skilled at this.

Learn from me!" he said confidently.

Smart chuckled softly, watching Han's cute little face. He muttered,

"What exactly am I supposed to learn from a little baby?"

"Hmmm… the tactic. How to drive Jin completely crazy.

And really, who else but me could teach you that… heh?"

"There's no need," a voice was heard behind them.

"I'm already crazy about him."

Smart immediately turned his head when he recognized his boyfriend's voice.

"Jin… you're here," he said, a sweet smile filled with love appearing on his face.

Han turned as well, and when he saw Jin with that effortlessly sharp look, he was almost speechless.

That look—damn, so fucking fine.

That outfit showed Jin's body as more than perfect—sexy and handsome.

Jin stepped a little closer to Smart, placing his hand on his shoulder and gripping it firmly—just enough for Smart to feel how irritated he was.

"Having fun, babe?" he asked in a calm tone.

"Oh—let me introduce you," Smart spoke up immediately.

"Han… this is Jin. My boyfriend."

Hmm. *Your boyfriend—the one you don't listen to at all.*

*One more step and I'll show you exactly how you should behave with your boyfriend.*

*When I tell you to wait in the studio, you obey.*

Jin clenched his teeth, holding himself back from saying it out loud.

Holy shit—he's on a whole different level, Han thought as he reached out his hand to greet him.

"Jin—this is Han, my little brother," Smart teased Han.

"Little my ass—" Han said, but his voice was immediately cut off by Smart's hand.

"Stop. What are you doing? Shut it," Smart whispered.

Jin reached out his hand, smiling at him.

He immediately took a seat in front of them!

After ordering an iced americano, he gave Smart a little nod, signaling him to get up and sit closer.

Smart didn't protest—he stood up right away, wanting to be near him anyway.

Han stayed there, a bit stunned, thinking about yesterday's Smart—the one who provoked him without limits to push him toward a kiss, the one who drove like a maniac, the one who danced so sexy that everyone melted watching him…

Fuck—why doesn't this guy in front of me match up to that one?!

As soon as Smart sat down next to him, Jin immediately grabbed his chin with a firm hand, while his other hand tilted his sunglasses just enough to meet his eyes.

"Did I tell you to wait in the studio?"

Smart looked at him and stayed silent for a moment.

"I'm listening now! Don't make me wait—you know my patience is short," Jin added.

Han watched, unable to believe that bad boy attitude.

*Now I get it,* he thought—Ren wasn't joking when he warned me about him.

But seeing it with your own eyes… that's something else!

I wish I had a guy like that in my boring life…!

Right at that moment, he caught himself in some strange thoughts.

He quickly shook it off, talking to himself.

What are you doing? You like girls!

Okay, it's fine to admire someone, but still… you're straight, he reminded himself, trying to calm and scold himself at the same time.

"Hmm, you told me! But Han came, and I had to leave!" Smart said, smiling with his eyes, slowly reaching out to grab Jin's hand, which was resting on his chin, and lowering it gently onto the table while caressing it.

"Ah, you had to leave! Why didn't you text me?" Jin continued, still holding his gaze.

"You were in the meeting, and I didn't want to interrupt for this," Smart said quickly, just trying to get out of the situation without overthinking it.

"Smart, don't try to manipulate me, or you'll make me lose my patience right now," Jin raised his voice.

Then he continued, still firm:

"Not interrupt me, huh?!" He pulled out his phone, showing the messages they'd exchanged earlier during the meeting.

"And these? For these, I could be interrupted… but you couldn't even text me that you were leaving, right?"

Smart took a sip of his cappuccino and leaned a little closer, whispering low enough so Han wouldn't hear.

"Bubu… when I said you're allowed to treat me however you want, I didn't mean you're allowed to do it in front of everyone's eyes!"

Jin's anger hadn't eased yet, and he grabbed Smart's hand, squeezing it hard to show he was still mad.

But Smart immediately ran his fingers gently over Jin's hand, trying to calm him down.

Han overheard almost the entire exchange.

*Damn… he's so possessive with Smart,* he thought.

Jin smiled, thinking to himself that he would put Smart in his place a little later, as soon as they got up from there.

Smart smiled too, realizing that the "beast" was calming down a bit from his gentle touch on the hand.

"Hey Han, did you talk to Ren?" Smart asked.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you—I called him on the way here, and Leo answered."

"Leo?" Smart asked, surprised.

"Yeah! He said Ren wasn't feeling well, had a fever, and was at his apartment."

"No way!" Smart jumped up. "Let's go there," he said, getting ready to leave—until Jin grabbed his hand and pushed him back into his seat.

"You're not going anywhere," Jin said, his voice serious.

"Jin… what are you saying? You think you can stop me from going to check on Ren?"

"Come on, I'll take you," Han said, noticing how worried Smart looked.

Jin almost flushed but held himself together and turned to Han with a smile.

"Smart isn't moving an inch from here without me."

"Okay… but Jin, please—I want to see Ren," Smart insisted, refusing to back down.

"Alright, alright… calm down. Let me call Leo first and check."

After speaking with Leo, Jin hung up and turned back to Smart.

"There's nothing to worry about. Ren is asleep right now, in safe hands."

"I still want to go," Smart insisted.

"Leo's taking care of him, and he's safe. Let him sleep tonight, and I promise tomorrow you can go see him, okay?"

"Smart… Jin is right," Han said softly.

Smart took a deep breath, feeling a bit calmer from Jin's words.

"Hmm… okay," he murmured.

Their fingers were intertwined under the table, and Smart kept gently caressing Jin's hand at every moment.

Jin did the same, even though he was still feeling annoyed.

After a few moments, Smart got up to go to the bathroom, leaving Jin alone with Han.

Jin pulled out a cigarette and asked Han if he minded him smoking.

Han smiled softly and, showing a friendly side, even asked for one for himself.

Damn, Jin thought, staring at that sweet, innocent face. He looked harmless… but I need to be sure.

Maybe now's the perfect moment to provoke him a little, just to learn more.

"Hey Han," he called, keeping his eyes on him without taking off his sunglasses. "Did you teach Smart how to seduce me?"

Han blushed slightly, feeling a bit awkward. "No… I didn't have time to teach him.

Last night I found out Smart already has a boyfriend."

"Last night… where?" Jin asked, even though he already knew exactly where.

"Ah, I meant yesterday," he said quickly, grabbing his coffee to get out of the situation.

Jin smiled slightly, realizing Smart had probably warned Han not to talk about last night.

What he noticed was that Han wasn't like Ren—he wasn't someone you couldn't get a word out of.

Han seemed sweeter, and with just a little tact, Jin could probably find out everything he wanted.

Jin inhaled from his cigarette and spoke again, his tone softer now, trying to coax out more information.

"So… how did you meet Smart?"

Han took a deep breath, his mind drifting back in time.

"Hmm… it was a really difficult moment for Smart, one where he almost lost himself," he said, his voice tinged with sadness.

In that moment, Jin felt his breath catch.

The thought that his Smart had suffered made his heart tremble.

"I need to find whoever made him go through that… and make them pay," he thought to himself.

Jin's thoughts were interrupted by Han's voice again.

"Smart is smiling again… and I think it's because of you.

He's finding himself again."

Jin moved even closer to him.

"Because of me?"

Han paused for a moment, then spoke again, more seriously this time.

"Yes, I think so.

But I'll tell you straight: if you take that smile away…

I'll be stepping into your territory

and I'll take Smart from you."

Jin couldn't believe it—Han, with that innocent, baby-like face, was threatening him like this.

If it had been any other moment, he might have exploded, but this wasn't the right time.

Right now, he just wanted to know more about Smart, and Han seemed like the perfect person to get answers from.

"Han… who made my Smart suffer? A name?" he asked, his voice cold and sharp.

With that question, Han realized Jin didn't actually know anything about Smart's past, and that he had said a little too much.

He immediately frowned and took a quick drag from his cigarette, thinking about how to cut the conversation short.

"Hmm… hey Jin, what do you think? Could I be a model?

Are you going to take me to work too?

All this body of mine shouldn't go to waste," he added, joking, just to change the subject.

Jin realized immediately that Han wasn't going to talk any further on that topic.

The way he dodged the subject made it clear—there was nothing more to get from him.

The thought that Smart might have suffered so much nearly drove Jin crazy.

He couldn't stay calm until he found out the truth.

He had had every opportunity to uncover it earlier, but he had promised Smart he wouldn't interfere with his past.

And even if he had hired someone to dig for information, no one could have given him the details like Smart's own circle of friends could.

In that moment, he thought it might be a good opportunity to bring Han into work as well.

Having him close could help Jin uncover even more.

But he also realized that if Han worked there, maybe they wouldn't return to 'Light' again.

"Okay then," Jin said.

Han opened his eyes in surprise.

"Okay? What?"

"You wanted to work as a model?

Then consider yourself hired," Jin said calmly.

"What are you guys talking about?" Smart's voice was heard as he sat down next to Jin.

"We were talking about this—Han is joining Deep Style from now on," Jin said, putting out his cigarette on the table.

"What?" Smart said, smiling.

"My little one's going to be a model?"

Jin looked Smart in the eyes.

"Watch the nicknames! I'm still here."

Smart laughed, lightly touching Jin's cheek.

"Don't get jealous!

You're my Bubu," he added, taking Jin's hand again and gently stroking it under the table.

"Hey Jin… I was just joking earlier," Han said quietly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Jin knew very well, but he still wanted to test Han—it had become a sort of entertainment for him.

Jin smiled.

"I wasn't joking."

Han's words got stuck in his throat.

Damn! What did I just do?

That's what happens when this big mouth of mine speaks without thinking…

Let this be a lesson—next time, I'll just stay silent, he thought, a twinge of sadness in his chest.

"Let's go to the track now," Jin said, getting up.

"The track? What track?" Han asked immediately, completely confused.

It was the perfect moment for Jin to provoke him, knowing Han had no idea and wasn't prepared to answer.

He sat back down casually.

"I'm teaching my boyfriend how to handle a car," he said, waiting for Smart's reaction.

"What? You're teaching Smart? Or is Smart teaching you?" Han asked, astonished, his mind flashing back to last night—how Smart had handled the car so wildly… yet perfectly.

Smart shot him a look to make him stop, but Han didn't get it at all.

It had been a day full of surprises, and he still couldn't figure out what he should say—and what he shouldn't!

He never even imagined that driving the car would become a top-secret matter.

Cold sweat ran down Smart's hands, and Jin could feel it.

Smart looked at Jin, smiling and forcing himself:

""Don't listen to what Han says!! In his eyes, I'm the perfect driver."

Jin was now even more convinced of what he suspected and spoke immediately.

"Han, tell me… how good is Smart behind the wheel?"
