The Center of Universes.
(Jamie had already started training by this time, and so had Alexander.)
The place was dark. It had no walls or any kind of infrastructure, just millions of stars stretching from the skies above into the endless background beyond them. For the center of the universe, it looked completely abandoned—like some kind of detention room in a high school where the baddest of the baddest students were kept because nothing else could contain them.
Suddenly, a door appeared inside that place, bringing much-needed light into the darkness. Opposite it, another appeared with the same strange frequency and the exact same design. Just a dark door without any doorknob, which raised all kinds of questions about how whoever created it usually moved through it.
But this was the center of the universe.
Seeing weird things was a must.
