The General examined Alex's expression. Seeing that he remained attentive to her words, she continued.
"How people awaken and become hunters is still a mystery, but as time passes, our knowledge on the matter deepens with each passing year."
She paused briefly.
"Awakening is not only a random occurrence, but it also carries certain dangers." The General's words sounded as if she were speaking from personal experience, and a flicker of pain appeared in her eyes.
"There are two types of awakening."
She pointed at Alex and spoke softly.
"You belong to the first group of awakened ones. It's simple and fast. You awaken with an Authority, and when you reach Level 20, you acquire a Class and continue leveling."
She then pointed at herself before continuing.
"I belong to the second group of awakened ones. I awoke as a hunter, gaining a Class simultaneously with my Authority."
