After a few minutes, when Maximilian pulled away from Ume, his eyes were completely dry, with no trace of wetness on his cheeks. It was as if he hadn't cried at all.
"Where are we currently?" he asked Ume, mentioning nothing about the reason he had cried.
Ume didn't ask him either. "We are in a chamber of the righteous faction Leader's castle," she revealed in a calm voice.
Dim light filtered through the paper-covered windows, painting the wooden walls and the heavy silk curtains in a faint amber glow.
"What about the peace talks with the humans?"
Ume only released a sigh at Maximilian's question. "There has been no discussion about it as of now. Both humans and beasts are confused because of the dragons' intervention. They will follow whatever the dragons tell them to."
Her pink eyes fixed on Maximilian as she continued, "They will follow your will."
