Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: A Hot Dinner

The dining table was quite---a little too quiet

Plates were set, steam rising from freshly served pasta, roasted chicken and a bowl of salad that no one had touched yet.

Sarah sat at the head of the 4 sitters dining table, graceful as ever, sipping a glass of red wine.

Jake poked at his food

Jimmy on the other hand, was trying a little bit too hard to act normal. "This here is... Really good," he said, mouth half-full. "Like restaurant good. Compliments to the chef.. haha" he said awkwardly

Sarah smiled without looking up. "Glad you like it."

Jake glanced at her, then at Jimmy, then sighed.

She's got him... IDIOT!

Jimmy grinded awkwardly. "You, uh, always cook like this?"

Sarah finally looked up, her eyes locking on his. "Only for special guests."

Jake nearly choked on his water

"Okay…? Jimmy, isn't it like late already?" Jake asked, shooting him a pointed glare.

"No!" Sarah interrupted, her voice sweet but firm.

"I haven't even served dessert."

She paused, turning to look Jimmy directly in the eyes, her lips curling into a playful smile.

"It's gonna be amazing, trust me."

Jimmy swallowed hard, blinking. "Y-yeah… I mean… who says no to dessert?"

"It's all warm, wet and ready for you to eat" she purred "Think you can handle it?"

"Warm, wet, and ready, huh? Mm… you're making this hard to ignore," he said, winking at her.

Jake facepalmed. "Oh my God…"

She chuckled, eyes sparkling mischievously.

"Silly boy, hope you can handle a little sauce... 'Cause this dessert's gonna have you 'cumming' for more."

Jake's eyes flicked between Sarah and Jimmy.

"Uh, I'm completely full," he said with a forced smile. "I think I'll step outside for some fresh air," he muttered, standing up quickly.

Jimmy didn't respond; instead, he locked eyes with Sarah, who gave him a sly smile.

"Okay, honey, but don't you want some dessert?" Sarah asked sweetly. "After all that 'activity' upstairs, I figured you might need something juicy to recharge."

Jake froze. His smile faltered as he ran a hand nervously through his hair.

"Uh… nah, maybe later," he muttered, avoiding eye contact.

His gaze shifted to the door—eager to escape the rising tension.

Jimmy smirked, clearly enjoying Jake's discomfort.

She just had to say that, Jake thought bitterly as he walked out.

Finally, Sarah mused, watching him leave. He's gone. Looks like my plan worked after all. Now that I'm alone with this idiot, I can finally dig for information... about the unknown Alpha.

Jimmy had just stabbed a piece of chicken with his fork when Sarah suddenly stood.

Without a word, she walked over and leaned in—then pushed his plate aside, the fork clinking off the edge.

Before he could react, she slid up onto the table, settling directly in front of him, legs crossed with intentional ease.

Jimmy's breath caught.

"Uh… you good?" he asked, eyes flicking up—trying not to stare where her neckline dipped.

Sarah tilted her head, lips curling into a slow, confident smile.

"Jimmy, right?" she purred. "You and Jake… you two go way back?"

He blinked. "Y-Yeah?"

She leaned in slightly, voice a velvet whisper.

"Then you must know him better than anyone. What exactly is he?"

Jimmy swallowed hard. "You tryna interrogate me… or flirt with me?"

Sarah's smile deepened—sultry, unreadable.

"Can't I do both?" she said, dragging a finger along the rim of his glass.

Then she leaned in close, lips brushing just beside his ear.

"Tell me, Jimmy… what's Jake hiding from me?"

The silence thickened.

Jimmy let out a nervous laugh, forcing a grin.

"Uhh… how about that dessert, huh?" he said, voice cracking just a bit.

Sarah smirked, sliding off the table with slow, deliberate grace.

"You just missed it," she murmured, turning away.

She walked off without another glance—hips swaying, every step leaving heat in the air.

Jimmy sat frozen, fork still in hand, brain thoroughly fried.

"…What the hell is happening?" he whispered.

"Okay!… I'll talk," Jimmy blurted in a rush.
