Boom! His hand came down again, chopping straight at Beerus's neck.
Beerus snarled, "You little brat!" His tail whipped around and sent Goku flying.
"Ahhh, that hurts!" Goku yelped, clutching his face. Then, grinning through the pain, he added, "Well, I guess we're even now, huh? You poked me, I poked you back."
A red mark spread across Beerus's forehead."You really do hold grudges, don't you?"
He casually rubbed his forehead and face, and just like that, the mark vanished. Beerus smiled faintly."Too bad for you—I'm just as stubborn. How about a real match? God against God."
Goku's eyes lit up. "That's exactly what I was hoping for. I've barely even started showing you what I can do!"
The power of the Super Saiyan God had even Goku himself in awe.The God of Destruction, Beerus, was finally ready to fight seriously.What came next would go beyond anyone's imagination.A clash of gods, at a level past dimensions.
Beerus smirked with a taunting expression. "Anytime you're ready, Super Saiyan God."
"Then let's go!"
A terrifying golden-red flame burst from Goku's body, shaking the entire Earth. Flames roared around him as he launched himself toward Beerus.
He blinked out of sight, only to reappear right in front of Beerus. Before Beerus could react, Goku's fist slammed into his stomach.
Beerus's eyes narrowed, and with a single shout of power, Goku was blasted backward.
The two of them drew on their monstrous energy and threw punches that shook the heavens.
BOOM! Their fists collided, and the shockwaves tore through the skies. Clouds ripped apart, thunder rolled, lightning crackled above as the two gods clashed.
Goku suddenly exploded forward with blinding speed, his fists pounding Beerus's stomach in a flurry, before smashing an uppercut into his chin. Beerus was hurled back but landed a moment later, completely unharmed.
Goku scratched his head with a sheepish laugh. "Man, not even a scratch…"
Beerus chuckled. "Looks like I haven't provoked you enough yet."
He darted forward, trading furious blows with Goku. Then his speed spiked—fist after fist drove into Goku's stomach until one strike knocked him flying.
Goku steadied himself mid-air, golden-red flames wrapping around him. He rubbed his head with a grin. "Damn, Lord Beerus's punches really rattle you to the bones."
Beerus raised a finger, summoning a massive golden sphere. "Now for something big."
Goku's eyes widened. "That's way bigger than the last one!"
"Special edition—just for you!" Beerus roared as he hurled the colossal energy ball.
Goku's flames surged as he braced with both hands, holding the monstrous sphere back.
Beerus sneered. "Let's see if you can stop it. It's not going down easy."
Goku roared, his divine power flooding out wildly. The sphere raged and pulsed against him, but to Beerus's surprise, Goku began compressing it, forcing the golden mass smaller and smaller.
With clenched teeth, flames blazing brighter than ever, Goku pushed until the sphere shrank to a point.
FLASH!
BOOM! The ball detonated in a blinding burst, turning the sky gold. The shockwave rippled outward from Goku at the center.
Through the explosion, Goku shot forward straight at Beerus. The two clashed, palms locked, straining in a raw contest of power. Gold lightning danced across the heavens as they roared at each other, neither giving an inch.
Goku suddenly kicked upward, catching Beerus's chin. Beerus grimaced and answered with a punch to Goku's face, sending both reeling backward.
Hovering mid-air, Goku panted hard. "You're too much… still holding back on me?"
Beerus chuckled. "So you noticed? My bad. It's just your type—push you a little, and you dig out more of that potential."

Sacred World of the Kai
The Supreme Kai frowned. "Elder… Lord Beerus is deliberately holding back, even pretending to be hit by Goku's attacks?"
The Elder Kai nodded slowly. "Seems that way."
"Then what's his plan?" the Supreme Kai asked, shocked.
The Elder Kai glanced sideways. "He's forcing Goku to grow into a perfect Super Saiyan God. Then, when the time's right, he'll unleash his full power and crush him."
"But why?!"
"Maybe just for fun," the Elder Kai muttered. "Beerus is a terrifying god like that."

Elsewhere – The Frieza Race
Cooler's face twisted in fear. "Someone can actually stand toe-to-toe with Lord Beerus? That Super Saiyan God… if he's out there, we can't let him keep growing."
"Salza!"
An armored alien entered, kneeling on one knee. "Yes, King Cooler?"
"Where's Frieza?" Cooler asked coldly.
Salza tapped his scouter. After a moment he replied, "Lord Frieza seems to have gone to Namek."
"Namek?!" Cooler's eyes narrowed. "Fine. Find out if there's a Saiyan called Son Goku near him. Report back the moment you know."

Back on Earth
Goku's voice rang out as he steadied himself. "I think I get it now. At your level, Beerus, there's no one left who can make you fight with everything you've got. Which means—"
Beerus suddenly appeared behind him. "Enough talk."
A golden blast exploded at Goku's back, sending him screaming through the air before bursting apart in smoke and fire.
His body smoking, Goku tumbled out of the haze. Beerus was already waiting, palm glowing. Another strike blasted Goku skyward.
BOOM! Smoke and flames erupted. A cry tore from Goku as he fell—only for Beerus to meet him again with another golden blast.
Crash after crash, the battlefield drowned in smoke. Goku barely stayed conscious, only to have Beerus grab him by the face, driving him down toward a small island.
"What's wrong, Super Saiyan God? Gonna just crash helplessly to the ground?"
BOOM! They smashed into the island, fire and smoke billowing as a giant crater opened beneath them.
Beerus walked calmly into the center, hands behind his back. Goku lay in the pit, gasping for air.
Beerus stopped in front of him. "Escaping at the moment of the blast—that was pretty good. But still… Super Saiyan God."
With one kick, he flipped Goku over and sat on him. "Know what? I'm sleepy."
Then the God of Destruction began pummeling down blow after blow. Goku barely got his arms up to block as Beerus roared with every strike.
"Sleepy! Dead tired! Can't stand it! I'm about to pass out here!"
"Go to hell with that!" Goku snarled, slamming his head into Beerus's. He followed with a desperate punch, smashing Beerus right on the chin.
