Li Yuyu instinctively sat up straight.
Zhang Jiao Jiao maintained a cool demeanor, slightly lifting her chin and pointing in a direction.
Li Yuyu looked over with confusion and saw the two plates of pastries placed on the side table next to her.
These were lotus cakes and lotus puffs sent from Cining Palace.
Last time, when her pastries were taken by the Empress Dowager, Li Yuyu initially thought the Empress Dowager was joking and couldn't possibly "confiscate" her pastries for real. Unexpectedly, from that day onwards, she hadn't had them again.
Li Yuyu felt very aggrieved.
Upon seeing these two plates of pastries today, her grievance disappeared, as Aunt Chen Jing said the Empress Dowager was tired of these two types of pastries and wanted to try something new.
Li Yuyu thought with melancholy that she probably wouldn't be able to eat them for a while.
Just wait, soon there might be no lotus petals to make the pastries anymore.
