"Don't worry. I'll grant your wish, just not right now." After saying that, Ken stopped wasting words. He released a mass of Angel power and rapidly wrapped it around Zat.
In an instant, Zat's body was squeezed and twisted out of shape by the Angel power.
"A-Aaagh!"
Zat screamed in agony.
In less than ten seconds, Zat had been compressed into a ball.
A ball only about the size of a soccer ball.
The ball shimmered with brilliant light, dazzling and beautiful.
Ken crooked a finger at it.
The glowing sphere slowly floated up and hovered beside him.
"Ken, what are you planning to do with him?" Merus stepped forward and asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Ken pointed at the glowing sphere floating beside him.
"You're just going to seal him up and keep him with you?" Merus asked again.
"What else should I do?" Ken said with a smile. "Or do you want to look after him?"
"That works too." Merus hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
"Do you know what level he is?" Ken asked.
"What level?" Merus froze.
"At least level 59," Ken said.
Merus fell silent.
His expression changed again and again.
Level 59?
This guy's level is that high?
And so much higher than mine.
I'm only level 51!
If I keep him with me and he breaks free, wouldn't he be able to kill me instantly?
Ken can already take down someone at level 59 this easily?
Still, that makes sense.
Ken has already reached level 80.
The gap between the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother and Ken is simply too big.
In front of him, level 59 couldn't even make a ripple before getting sealed away.
"Forget it…" Merus said with a dry laugh.
"Let's go," Ken suggested.
"What about them?" Merus looked at Babidi and Dabura, who were lying unconscious on the floor.
"Zeno-sama was the one who wanted this guy revived. They're lucky. We'll leave them alone for now," Ken said with a smile.
"Zeno-sama?" Merus froze slightly, then immediately realized. "So he's the one Zeno-sama wanted revived… He's the son of the wizard Bibidi."
"You only realized that now?" Ken sighed softly.
Merus smiled awkwardly.
The two said nothing more. They flew out of the spaceship, entered outer space, and headed toward the World of Void.
About a minute later, Merus still felt it would be better to report the situation to the Grand Priest.
So Merus told Ken what he was thinking.
"That does sound reasonable," Ken said with a nod. "But some things can't be said too directly. Try saying it like this…"
Ken then relayed his idea to Merus.
"Okay, I'll try." Merus did not object.
Then Merus stopped hesitating and immediately contacted the Grand Priest through his scepter.
"Merus, what is it?" the Grand Priest's voice came through the crystal ball on the scepter.
"Grand Priest, there is something I would like to ask you about," Merus said respectfully.
"Go ahead," the Grand Priest replied.
"If… and I only mean if…" Merus said with an awkward smile. "If the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother came to our world, and I happened to run into him, should I treat him politely, or…"
The Grand Priest fell silent.
This "if" of yours…
Why does it sound real?
Through the crystal ball, the Grand Priest immediately looked toward Merus's side.
Very easily, the Grand Priest saw the brilliant glowing sphere floating beside Ken.
The Grand Priest's eyes flickered a few times, then instantly returned to calm.
"If the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother came to our world, and if you happened to run into him, then it would depend on his attitude," the Grand Priest said with a faint smile. "If he behaved arrogantly in our world, then giving him a proper beating would not be unreasonable."
Merus froze, a little surprised. He had not expected the Grand Priest to say something like that.
Hasn't the Grand Priest always taught us to keep a calm and peaceful heart?
"If the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother came to our world, and if you happened to run into him, and if he acted friendly toward us and openly admitted his identity, then of course we would treat him with courtesy," the Grand Priest added.
"But… Grand Priest… if the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother came to our world, and if I happened to run into him, and if he acted arrogantly here, and Ken and I already gave him a proper beating… would that start a war between the two realms?" Merus asked worriedly.
"Merus, there is no need to worry. If our Realm of Gods is strong enough, then even if we killed the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother, the Demon Supreme Kai might still say we did well," the Grand Priest instructed.
Merus's mouth twitched slightly.
"But if our Realm of Gods is too weak, then even if we served the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother with the finest food and drink, they would eventually find some random excuse to attack the Realm of Gods anyway." The Grand Priest sighed, feeling rather complicated.
It seems Ken understands me better after all.
My own son… still worries too much when doing things.
What are you afraid of?
What is there to fear?
Aren't I still here?
"Then… compared to the Demon Realm, which side is stronger, our Realm of Gods or theirs?" Merus asked carefully.
"Our Realm of Gods, of course," the Grand Priest said with a confident smile.
"I understand." Merus let out a breath of relief, then struck Zat's seal hard with his scepter.
"Aaagh!"
Zat screamed in pain, howling furiously as if he were cursing someone.
However, Ken had already blocked his actual words.
Only the screams were allowed through.
After all, if you hit him and he made no sound, Ken would feel no sense of achievement.
Clearly, Zat's curses were extremely ugly.
The Grand Priest fell silent.
You really are trying to beat him half to death?
Forget it. I'll pretend I don't know.
"If there is nothing else, we'll leave it at that," the Grand Priest said, then ended the call.
In the Grand Priest's residence, he let out a helpless sigh.
I need to recover my strength as soon as possible.
Otherwise, things really will become troublesome.
Zat, the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother, actually came to our world?
He might have come to investigate the strength of the mortal world and the Realm of Gods.
Unfortunately, he ran into Ken.
Poor fellow.
As the Grand Priest thought about it, he felt somewhat speechless.
Given Ken's usual way of doing things, he probably would not have reported this to me.
Because once I knew, I might have told him to release Zat for the sake of stability in the Realm of Gods.
Most likely, Merus felt such an important matter should be reported to me.
Forget it. I won't scold my own son.
If I say too much, he'll become hesitant about everything he does.
The Grand Priest did not dwell on it any further. He calmed down and continued repairing his damaged Angel power.
"I didn't expect him to say that… Is he still the Grand Priest I know?" the Grand Priestess muttered in surprise.
In the Grand Priestess's view, if the Grand Priest discovered that the sealed person was the Demon Supreme Kai's younger brother, he should have respectfully sent him back to the Demon Realm.
Worse, the Grand Priest might even have ordered Ken and Merus to apologize to the Demon Realm.
What the Grand Priestess had not expected was for him to say something like that.
Moreover, the Grand Priestess was certain the Grand Priest had seen Zat's seal.
Yet he had ignored it.
That made things rather interesting.
Had the Grand Priest decided after all these years that he was ready for a final battle with the Demon Realm?
"He has changed," the Grand Priestess said softly.
"Perhaps while you were enjoying peaceful days, he was the one carrying everything," Ken sighed.
The Grand Priestess froze slightly. Her bright eyes blinked rapidly, and she looked at Ken with a meaningful expression. Suddenly, she felt those words had a lot of depth.
Is it really as Ken says?
Did I misunderstand the Grand Priest?
"Ken, you were right," Merus said with a smile. "Since our Realm of Gods is stronger than the Demon Realm, we really have nothing to fear."
As he spoke, Merus struck Zat's seal again with his scepter.
Zat let out another miserable scream.
"Merus, you've changed," Ken said with a smile, patting Merus on the shoulder.
"Have I?" Merus grinned.
"The old you wouldn't have taken the initiative to attack someone who already lost the ability to resist," Ken said emotionally.
"Maybe I've been influenced by you," Merus replied.
…
Universe 6, Earth.
The next morning, Videl arrived early at the area where Gohan and Kale were training.
However, Videl had already changed her hairstyle. Her hair was now short.
With short hair, Videl looked even sharper and prettier.
When Kale saw Videl's new hairstyle, she felt uncomfortable again.
Didn't you say you weren't interested in Gohan-nii?
Then why did you cut your hair immediately after Gohan-nii said it was too long?
I seriously doubt you now.
Kale circled Videl again and again, holding her chin as she studied her.
"Good morning, Kale. Let's continue today's training," Videl said with a smile.
"I almost didn't recognize you. Are you really Videl?" Gohan said in surprise.
Kale fell silent.
Don't look at her!
You're making me feel insecure.
"Look. I can already hover this high now." As Videl spoke, her body slowly rose until she was more than a meter above the ground.
"Good. Very nice," Gohan said with a nod.
"I trained for a long time after I went home yesterday," Videl said, blinking as she smiled at Gohan.
"Looks like… I don't have anything left to teach you." Kale's face darkened. "You can practice by yourself from here."
Whoosh! Whoosh!
As they spoke, Goten and Zarek flew over from the distance and started chasing each other in the air.
However, neither of them released any light from their bodies. They were only showing ordinary flight speed.
"Hey, how long will it take before I can fly like them?" Videl asked, watching Goten and Zarek with envy.
Kale was so angry her teeth itched.
Goten and Zarek are so thoughtless.
How long do you want this girl to stay at our house?
"Well… I'm not sure. Kale is the one who has been training you this whole time," Gohan said, scratching his head.
Kale wanted to cry.
Gohan-nii, that was supposed to be my line!
"Then I'll keep practicing here until I can fly freely," Videl said seriously.
"Well… that should be fine too," Gohan said with an embarrassed smile.
Kale was speechless.
Do you want Videl to stay here that badly?
No, she can't stay. If she does, I feel like sparks are going to fly between you two.
Swish!
Kale flashed forward and appeared beside Goten and Zarek.
Zarek looked at Kale with some fear.
Goten simply scratched his head foolishly.
"You two, don't fly so fast in front of her! If you keep doing that, Gohan-nii and I won't have time to train!" Kale scolded them sternly.
"Beg me. If you beg me, I'll agree," Zarek said with a cheeky grin, hiding behind Goten.
"Try saying that again!" Kale snapped, a yellow-green glow flickering around her body.
Zarek panicked and quickly shook his head hard. "I was joking. Don't get angry…"
Videl froze slightly. She suddenly saw Kale's hair turn faintly green.
Was I seeing things?
I remember during the Cell Games, someone's hair seemed to turn green, though my memory isn't very clear.
Maybe I remembered wrong?
Your hair turned green… because you're about to get cheated on?
That doesn't seem impossible.
Could the one doing it be me?
No, no… I don't want to be the other woman!
Deep down, Videl was still rather resistant to the idea.
"Well… haha… um…" Gohan looked at Kale, then at Videl, and immediately felt a headache coming on.
Tap.
Videl slowly landed from the air and wiped away the sweat from her brow.
"Let's rest for a bit," Videl said with a smile.
"Gohan-nii, didn't you say you were going to ask Caulifla-nee and Cabba to join the tournament? When are you going to tell them?" Kale suddenly had an idea and asked.
"Ah… sorry, I forgot about that. I'll go tell them now." Gohan slapped his forehead and quickly replied.
"Then I'll leave it to you, Gohan-nii," Kale said with a giggle.
"I'm off." Gohan immediately rose into the air and flew toward Cabba and Caulifla.
"Hehe, now this should be fun," Zarek said, instantly interested.
"What do you mean, Zarek?" Goten asked, scratching his head.
"That girl Videl is in trouble," Zarek said, enjoying the show.
"Really?" Goten asked, half understanding. "Because of Gohan?"
"Goten is getting smarter," Zarek said with a nod.
"Should we try to stop her?" Goten asked worriedly.
"Can you beat Kale?" Zarek asked.
Goten quickly shook his head hard.
"She's the Legendary Super Saiyan. Better not provoke her." Zarek shivered. It seemed he had been beaten up by Kale many times before, enough to leave him with a bit of trauma.
"But I've noticed you provoke her all the time and always make Kale-nee angry," Goten said seriously.
"I just don't like her," Zarek snorted.
Goten had no response.
Weak, but still loves causing trouble.
"Videl, I've already taught you everything I should. You can train by yourself from here," Kale said coldly, clearly trying to drive her away.
"You really don't care about classmates at all, do you?" Videl sighed softly. "Did you send Gohan away just so you could say that to me?"
"What, am I supposed to keep you here for lunch?" Kale snorted.
"Kale, I already told you. I only came here to learn Flight. I'm not interested in Gohan," Videl said helplessly.
"Hmph. As if I don't know how this goes. You learn and learn… and then maybe you steal him away!" Kale still did not feel at ease.
"I can leave. But before I go, there's something I want to tell you." Videl's temper rose as well. She took a deep breath and looked seriously at Kale.
As the daughter of a wealthy family, and the daughter of Mr. Satan besides, Videl was not someone without pride.
I'm learning Flight from you, so I already owe you a favor. That's why I haven't argued with you, even though you keep trying to chase me away.
"Say it," Kale huffed.
"If you keep targeting me like this, I might just go after Gohan on purpose!" Videl snorted.
"You…" Kale was left speechless.
How can you actually say that?
Does your conscience not hurt?
"Try saying that again!" Kale grew angry, and yellow-green light flickered continuously around her.
"Oh no, Goten, we need to run. She's about to turn into the Legendary Super Saiyan!" Zarek's face turned pale with fright, and he hurriedly called out to Goten.
"Is Kale-nee going to kill Videl-nee?" Goten could not bear to watch, but he did not dare step forward and stop her.
"Forget it. I'm really not interested in him. Take care of yourself." Videl shook her head. What she said just now had only been spoken in anger.
The yellow-green light around Kale gradually faded, and she returned to calm.
"Since you taught me Flight, I honestly want to give you one piece of advice," Videl said earnestly. "You can't keep a man by watching him every second. If you cling too tightly, he might stay beside you, but one day his heart will have already gone somewhere else."
Kale's heart trembled, as if those words had suddenly woken her up.
Videl is right.
Have I been watching Gohan too closely?
If I keep doing this, he may still be beside me, but his heart might run off somewhere else.
Pop!
Videl took out a Capsule and tossed it out.
The Capsule turned into a jet helicopter.
"Goodbye! I'll beat you at the World Martial Arts Tournament!" Videl raised her fist toward Kale.
Kale said nothing and suddenly felt a little guilty.
Was I a bit too much?
She is my classmate, after all.
And Videl never actually tried to flirt with Gohan.
"Y-You wait a second." Kale took a deep breath and called out to Videl.
Videl had already walked up to the helicopter.
Hearing Kale, Videl stopped and looked back at her.
"Fine. I'll do as you wanted. I'll teach you until you can fly, and then you can leave," Kale said, her expression softening.
"That's more like it." Videl giggled.
Kale also forced a small smile.
"What a letdown… I thought they were going to fight," Zarek said, looking disappointed.
"Zarek, you really love watching trouble happen," Goten said, scratching his head.
"Brat, what did you just say? Is that any way to talk to me?" Zarek scolded him with a stern face.
Goten quickly covered his mouth and stopped talking.
"Forget it. This place isn't fun at all." Zarek shook his head. "Should we go find Gohan?"
"Find Gohan? What's fun about finding Gohan?" Goten froze.
"Didn't you hear what Kale said just now?" Zarek lowered his voice. "Apparently her Caulifla-nee, and some guy named Cabba, are also entering the World Martial Arts Tournament. Want to go take a look?"
"Yeah, yeah." Goten nodded.
The two little brats no longer hesitated and immediately flew in Gohan's direction.
Kale glanced after them but did not say anything.
"Actually, my dad told me that the boyfriend I find in the future has to be stronger than him," Videl said with a friendly smile, watching Goten and Zarek leave.
Kale went silent.
Gohan is stronger than you, so please stop talking…
"How could there be a boy that strong? My dad is the world champion," Videl explained. "Gohan is strong, but he definitely isn't my dad's match. So I'm not interested in him. You really can relax."
Kale felt like crying.
Your dad is the world champion?
Fine, your dad has Zeno-sama protecting him.
Calling him the world champion might not be wrong.
I'm not going to argue with you about this.
Say whatever you want.
"By the way, who taught you and Gohan martial arts?" Videl asked.
"I learned from Merus-nii. Gohan-nii learned from his father and his father's friends," Kale explained simply.
"Are they entering the World Martial Arts Tournament too?" Videl immediately became interested.
"Merus-nii won't, but Gohan-nii's father probably will," Kale replied.
"Gohan's father is called Goku, right? He was the champion two tournaments ago," Videl said with a smile. "I'm really looking forward to seeing Gohan's father fight my dad."
Kale fell silent.
Goku would wipe the floor with your dad.
Though Goku probably wouldn't do something like that. He'd probably just knock him out of the ring.
"You… How close are you to Zeno-sama?" Kale asked tentatively.
"Zeno-sama? You know Zeno-sama?" Videl froze and looked at Kale in surprise.
