There was an obvious dissonance between my skill in magic and my raw magical power according to the system. I suppose this was not exactly something I could have avoided either. Between the sheer overwhelming power of the fruit, my physique and haki the foundation of magic power was heavily buffed making my skill get out run by my actual power. The mind, body and soul were this foundation and two of the three were massively bigger than any wizard my age should have them. Specifically my body and soul.-
Thanks to absorbing Grindelwalds magic skill stone I had a path to rapidly repairing this dissonance. I ignored that however as I had a very limited time in this world and I wanted to focus all of it on shoring up my haki as much as possible. Whitebeard gave his agreement so even as I sparred with everyone on his crew who would and ended up with injuries he let it happen. Thankfully I had the foresight to stock up on wiggenweld before I came so all the minor injuries like bruises and scrapes I fixed quickly with the potions.-
I used them externally even with the decrease in effectiveness as a little something not mentioned in the books or movies was that potions can poison you if you drink too many at once. It was not much different than over dosing medicine really, just took a whole lot more to accomplish. Potions were typically made as nontoxic as possible but that toxicity was never reduced to zero. Still even while my body was technically fine my mind and soul were exhausted by the end of each of these days. I'd eat a massive amount of food, refine my body and then crash in a bunk at the end of each day.-
It was an unhealthy level of training with Marco saying so seriously but I assured him that I was going to be much more relaxed after returning to my world. This mad rush of training was a temporary measure to make the most of my time here. By the time my window for returning to my world rolled around I had raised my haki ability and skill level to five. I was roughly able to deduce what the levels translated to thanks to this and now knew definitively where I stood in the magical world.-
Levels one to three were the "average" levels. Students, newly graduated folk and the average witch or wizard fell into these levels of magic and skill. Four to six were the more powerful levels. Six would roughly be where Mcgonagall, Snape and Flitwick stood for example. Seven to nine were the mastery levels. The levels where power and skill put a witch or wizard head and shoulders above most others. Voldemort, Flammel, Grindelwald and Dumbledore sat here. If I had to guess I'd say Dumbledore and a peak Grindelwald sat at nine while Voldemort sat at eight and Flammel at seven mostly because his body being as degenerated as it was kept him from being higher.
In terms of raw power that meant I was roughly at the level of the professors but my actual skill was only just in the middle ranks of that grouping thanks to my haki and fruit power. One might wonder then how my fruit mastery was at level seven and the answer to that was pretty simple honestly, creative use. I wasn't like Enel who only ever seemed to rely on the obvious uses of the fruit. I used it in ways that it didn't at first glance seem like it should be used.-
Devil fruits were funny like that, the more creative you were with the things the faster you mastered it. According to Whitebeard there was plenty of examples of new fruit users mastering their fruits in as little as two months and awakening them. Right now I sat at the starting levels of mastery but if I wasn't mistaken awakening would only happen when I crossed from level nine to ten. Seven to nine was mastery but ten and what lay beyond was transcendence, going beyond mastery to do MORE.-
I might be wrong but that was likely the realm the founders and mythical figures reached. The realm Zeus himself most likely sat as part of and eventually where I expected to end up. Anyways all of this was to say I was not nervous at all about my place in the world once the time came for me to return.-
"Finally off to cause your own side problems?" Whitebeard joked.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." I said with feigned innocence.
"Gurarara! Keep 'em guessing brat. Show that world just what sort of monster they have on their hands!" he said with a laugh as I felt myself begin to blur.
Once again I found myself between worlds in that vast string filled place. I remained calm and tried to peer at my surroundings with my haki only to feel like my soul was ripping apart from the sheer overwhelming amount of feedback I got. I hurriedly withdrew my haki as I allowed myself to be yanked towards a familiar thread. I found myself right back where I was when I left the world for the one piece world only with a splitting headache this time.-
I returned to the Leaky cauldron as the rain came down around me and with a firm shake let it all fall from me and my clothes after stepping out of it. None of the witches or wizards in the pub really even seemed to realize how impressive that actually was and I found a seat at the counter.
"Afternoon Tom. Got any food made?" I asked the man as I sat down.
