ASHVI'S POV:
Ashvi was sitting at her room's window. She was looking at the moon, her eyes soft. A tear trails down as she closed her eyes.
"My whole life is a mystery, a mystery that even I don't know," "And now another new mystery has been added to it — Ayaan's.
she let out a bitter smile. "Everybody else feels like there family doesn't know them well, there friends don't know them well,
But me ??
what can I say, who can I say it to? Cuz I don't even know myself. In childhood I lived in a hostel. I got kicked out from there, and I don't even know why. I lived at Grandma's house, and there too, because of that one mistake, Grandma sent me here to mom and dad." She breaks down.
"Ashvi ?"
Ayaan comes into her room and sees her crying. He goes straight to her and hugs her.
"What happened?"
Ashvi cried her heart out while holding her brother.
"Ashvi, stop it. What happened? Did someone say something? Just tell me," he asked.
But she was just crying.
"Bhai," she finally said but her voice breaks.
"Hmm?"
"I don't know anything about my life."
"What are you saying, Ashvi?"
"You know, I have some problem and you all don't want to tell me about it, but I want to know. This is about me. I don't even know about myself. What happens to me, why it happens, I don't know anything."
"Ashvi," he wiped her tears, "why are you thinking all this? And even if something has happened to you, we're here. I'm here, Dad's here, Mom's here. Whatever we do, we'll do it for your good only, got it, silly?" He tapped her on the head.
_How can my brother take someone's life_, she thought. _I can't ask Ayaan. I can't ask Ruhaan anything more about this either. It was his brother._
"Get up now. Go and sleep. You have class tomorrow. Get up early in the morning or I won't wait for you."
She got up and went to bed.
Ayaan stayed there until she fell asleep, and after she slept he kissed her on the forehead, then he turned off the light and left.
*Next morning at the classroom*
Ashvi was sitting alone because Mansi hadn't come yet.
She was quiet, lost in thought. She hadn't talked to anyone since morning either. Even though everyone tried to talk to her, she would say a little and then go quiet again.
Even now she was completely silent.
Only then she got interrupted by Ruhaan. He came and sat next to her.
"Why were you not answering my calls or my messages last night?" he asked.
"Ahh, I didn't even realize you called. My phone was on silent mode," she accused.
"The whole day?" he repeated.
"Yeah, I didn't check my phone at all yesterday."
He knew she wasn't in a good mood, so he didn't ask anything else, and just then Ashvi said something.
"Sorry."
Ruhaan looked at her.
"What?"
"I'm sorry," she said again.
He was clearly amazed.
"Why are you saying sorry?" he asked.
Ashvi finally looked at his face properly.
"I shouldn't have mentioned what I said yesterday."
He started chuckling.
"I'm apologizing to you and you're laughing?"
She got annoyed.
"Exactly," he started.
"Why are you apologizing? Did I say anything to you about it?" he said, smiling at her.
"So you didn't feel bad?" she asked.
"I did, obviously. Whenever I think about it, it feels really bad. But you didn't know,
that's why you asked. As you like meddling so much" he said and smiled at her. She smiled back at him. Just then Ruhaan narrowed his eyes.
"Are you blushing, Ashvi?" he asked.
Ashvi stopped smiling.
"What? No."
Then he grabbed her chin and pulled her close.
He looked straight into her eyes.
Ashvi's cheeks instantly turned pink.
"You're blushing. You can't deny it. And it's not your fault — my face is just that handsome," he said with a proud smile.
She pushed him.
"That's all nonsense. I'm just feeling hot. It's so hot here, that's why."
"Yeah, sure."
"Guys, Ashvi's mood is finally better now. You all can talk to her," he announced.
And everyone came rushing to Ashvi's seat, shouting.
Ruhaan :
"See, these people were dying to talk to you."
"Ashvi, what happened to you?" they all started asking.
"Yeah Ashvi, when you go quiet, look, the whole class goes quiet. There's no vibe in class at all."
"Class goes quiet? Literally, I was quiet for so long and you guys were still creating a mess," she said sarcastically.
"Okay okay, Ashvi's fine now. Everyone go sit at your seats. The lecture is about to start, sir is going to come."
Mansi also came back just then.
And as soon as she came, she was shocked because Ruhaan was sitting in her seat.
"Ruhaan, what are you doing in my seat? Ashvi, what is he doing here?" she started shouting.
Ruhaan :
"Mansi, you're back? But you weren't supposed to come today, right?"
"What? Who said I'm not coming?"
"Ashvi ," he pointed at her.
Ashvi :
"What?"
Ruhaan:
"Yes," Ashvi said, "you're not coming today, so I'll sit with her."
Mansi :
"Ashvi!"
Mansi's face looked like she got betrayed.
Mansi :
"Ashvi, I told you I'd come after two lectures."
Ashvi :
"When did I say Mansi isn't coming?" She hit Ruhaan on the arm.
Mansi hit him on the other arm.
"Get up now from my seat. She is only mine."
"Mansi, I've known you since school time. I didn't know you were a lesbian."
Ashvi tapped her own forehead.
"I'm talking about the seat, Ruhaan," Mansi said irritated.
Ruhaan got up and left from there.
"What the hell has happened with him today?"
*At the cafeteria*
"Listen, I'm getting a call from Mom. I'll talk and come back." Mansi got up and left, but then she came back again.
"Why are you back?"
"To tell you not to eat all of this. Save some for me too." And after saying that, she left.
Ashvi ignored her and started eating.
At the same time Yash came there.
"Ashvi."
"Hmm, Yash, come, come."
"You're eating alone today? Where's your other half?"
"Hehehe, Mansi got a call, she went to talk," she replied without taking her eyes off her food.
"Okay, so can I stay here until she comes back?" he asked.
"Yeah, of course," she replied.
Ashvi was just eating.
Meanwhile, Yash was smiling watching her eat.
"Why were you quiet since morning today?" he asked.
She looked at him. "Nothing, I just felt bad about what I asked yesterday, because of that."
"Huh, first you're the one who's curious to know everything, and then you feel bad."
"Yeah, but I didn't know. If I knew, I wouldn't have asked," she said and goes back to eating.
"Okay, tell me one thing. This habit of yours of meddling in everyone's matter, have you had it since childhood? Why do you have to get into everyone's problems? People should handle their own stuff, right?"
"Hmm, I know. But if my meddling can help someone with their problems, then that's good. If we can change something, then why not help?"
She said while eating.
Yash :
"You know you can't change everyone, right?"
"That's okay, at least I tried," she gave a little smile.
YASH'S POV :
I don't know what's happening.
Ruhaan has made a plan to break Ashvi's heart,
"And unfortunately, I also ended up being part of that plan."
I know he's going to hurt Ashvi, but the moment I think about it, I see Ashvi's crying face in front of me, and just thinking about it starts to hurt me. I can't see Ashvi crying, and broken.
I think I started feeling something for Ashvi.
