Michelle was running through the forest, two pitch black wolves chasing her. Her arms and legs were hit and cut but low hanging branches, and the heavy rain didn't make it easy to escape.
Wet leaves slapped her face, and twigs tangled in her hair, while the scratches she received were now burning, alongside her lungs, which needed more oxygen.
Chelly wasn't replying to her calls, and she felt that both wolves were gaining on her. Michelle ran as fast as her two feet could carry her, but a log that she didn't see sent her flying in the air.
Landing on her face, she quickly got on her arms, sideways, looking behind her as both wolves came to a halt. She had nowhere to run, and the animals knew that.
"Please! Please leave me alone!" She screamed.
"You betrayed me!" Growled the wolf with glowing blue eyes.
"And you betrayed me too!" Added the crimson eyed wolf.
"Please, I'll do anything! Please let me go!" The green-eyed girl cried.
"Trust is earned, and I can not trust someone who would betray her mate for some other wolf!" Barked the red-eyed wolf.
"And saving you was me! You'd be dead if it weren't for me! You took his side! His! You killed the trust I had in you," added to blue-eyed wolf.
Michelle felt her body shaking with cold and regret. The rain poured down in torrents, and she was not only wet with water but also tears.
Michelle slowly got up, and looking down at herself, something became clear; these were not random wolves. They were Rodney and Braxen.
Michelle let out such a loud scream that the wolves in front of her disappeared in the air.
"Michelle? Michelle, wake up!" She heard a familiar voice.
She felt her body being shaken, and a very scared voice saying, "Please get up!"
Michelle snapped her eyes open and looked at the person standing over her.
"Arya? What happened? Where am I?" She asked, looking around.
"You're in the clinic. Doctor Penelope helped you out."
"Did he say anything," Michelle asked, looking at Arya.
Arya knew who she was talking about, and she hung her head and just shook it negatively. Michelle also looked away, and Arya could feel her trying not to cry.
"Don't worry. I talk to him..."
"No, Arya. I don't want you to ruin your relationship with him because of me. Please don't do that. I'll handle it myself."
"Miss Greene, you're awake," the doctor said, walking in with a folder.
It did sting Michelle a little bit, going from being called luna to Miss Greene, but she understood.
"How are you feeling?" The doctor continued, not paying attention to the shift in Michelle's face.
"I'm feeling better," she said.
"That's good. I'll just check your vitals, and you are free to go. Well, your blood pressure is normal, and your heart rate is good... and your hands and feet have healed. I can discharge you today, if you want," Dr Penelope stared at her for an answer.
Michelle looked at her, then at Arya, then lowered her eyes. She didn't know what to say. Where would she go? She had been kicked out from the only place she knew was her room!
"Hey, is everything alright?" Arya asked.
"I don't have a place to go! I got locked out of my room!" Michelle said sadly.
"Well, you can stay in my room -" "No, Arya! As I said before, I can't risk you ruining your relationship with your brother, just because you helped me! Don't forget, I'm a traitor!" Michelle said quickly, fresh tears forming in her eyes.
"Michelle, you won't be ruining anything. If he says something... I'll just say I was ...." Arya thought for a while before continuing, "Making sure that you don't talk to Alfa!"
The green-eyed girl looked at Arya for a minute before nodding. She needed a place to stay, that's not the garbage, and she'll have some company.
"Well then, I'll get the discharge papers, where I'll need you to sign, and you can go," the brown eyed doctor said cheerfully.
Arya gave Michelle a dress that she had bought with her, and Michelle changed before they headed out to the pack house.
Michelle freezes at the door. Arya turned back and saw her companions' face drained of all colours, and she knew that the pack members were talking about her.
"Michelle?" She said softly.
"They're talking about me!" She said, without looking up.
"And they will!"
Michelle looked at Arya with wide eyes full of questions.
"Yes, Michelle. Everyone will talk about you, how you are a traitor, and should be killed..." Arya began, and she saw Michelle flinch. "But the point is, you should be strong enough to listen without showing your emotions. Cry all you want in your room, but outside, pretend you don't care. They're just trying to get on your nerves so you would do something that really gets you killed," Arya continued.
"What do you mean? Why would they do that?" Michelle asked.
"Bullying the weak is in everyone's nature, whether they're humans or animals. And you're not just some rogue wolf. You're the future Luna! This means that with you gone, these she wolves would have a chance to become luna of the strongest pack there is!"
Michelle thought for a minute. Then she slowly nodded. "But what do I do?"
"Simple..."
Michelle burst in through the door, and most of the talking stopped. Everyone looked at her, and then one of them commented, "Oh, she's here! The traitor!" And everyone laughed.
"Yes! I'm a traitor." Silence spread across the pack house, as everyone looked at her, but she didn't care and continued, "And I'm not proud of it! I helped the one wolf who actually saved my life from a rogue who killed my parents and was going to kill me!" Tears were streaming down her cheeks.
"If it weren't for Alfa Flowerew, I'd be dead. No matter what I do, I still wouldn't be able to pay his debt!" Michelle paused, looking around.
"It takes way more guts to admit you were wrong than it takes to do something wrong. At least I had the guts to admit I was the traitor not only in front of the Alpha, but all of you! And I'm not sorry about that, because I love Rodriguez. He can kick me out today, or kill me, it wouldn't matter, because I'm willing to go to hell as long as he's happy," Michelle said with an authority that none of them saw coming.
She walked towards Arya's room, and no one spoke for a long time afterwards.
