Not long after, the doorbell rang, and Anna quickly went to open the door.
With Anna leading the way, Carter Lockwood followed behind her.
Mrs. Monroe froze when she saw Carter had come.
Hadn't Carter gone back to The Lockwood Family after dropping them off?
"Why are you still here?"
"He was waiting for me." Anna answered for Carter.
She felt it was better to call Carter over and talk about it together.
"Mom."
Anna reached out and linked arms with Carter. "What I told you last time about me getting married was true."
"Carter is my husband."
As soon as Anna finished speaking, Mrs. Monroe, who was holding a glass of water, was stunned. She thought she'd misheard, and in her panic she knocked over the glass in her hand.
"Anna, this isn't something you can joke about!"
Mrs. Monroe came back to her senses and warned Anna, displeased.
When Anna said she got married, Mrs. Monroe had taken it as a joke and didn't take it seriously.
