Chapter 22 - zack is alive

"I can locate anyone or anything on this earth. All I have to do is focus my energy on the thing I need," Zack said proudly.

Mary: "I want you to go find them."

Zack: "Okay. Consider it done."

Zack looked at Kido and said, "I'll be back, brother. Don't miss me too much." They both hugged, then Zack went on his way to find the scout from the Northern Nation.

Mary: "We have to address this issue at once. Or we go to our base and talk about it."

Kay: "What are we going to talk about?"

Mary: "About Zack. If he can join us. But I don't think it's a good idea."

Kido: "Why? He is my best friend."

Mary: "He is your friend, not ours. We don't know if he's trustworthy. We don't know his mission here. He just came out of nowhere, and you're already supporting him. Where has he been all these years? He can't just show up now. I really don't like the idea."

Kido: "Just say it. You don't like him. And you're too scared of making new friends. That's why."

Mary sighed. "You're right — no one is truly trustworthy."

Anna: "You're right. We can keep an eye on him."

John: "He's a good kid."

Kido: "You see? John just said he's a good guy. Why are you all so heartless? Why are you all acting like this?"

John shook his head. "Kido, calm down."

"But we're not leaving until Zack is back," Kido said firmly. "Please. I already lost him once. I can't lose him again. Not today."

Anna: "If we want to help you get back to your friend, we can't stay here in the open. We have to go back. And we're not sure he will return today. If we need him, we can find him. Remember, he said he can find anything or anyone. So don't be afraid. He will definitely find us."

John: "Kido, we're here for you now. We have to head back. We'll talk more and see where it leads us."

Kido looked at John. "Fine. But promise me you will give him a chance?"

John nodded. "We will see."

Kido continued, "We are good people. If he has what it takes, why not? He can be one of us. We just have to ask Max to keep an eye on him."

They all headed to their camp. In no time, they arrived at their base.

John stretched his shoulders. "We'll investigate what's going on with the mission that Max and some of our men are on. But we'll do that after we rest. We had a long day. I know you all must be exhausted. Keep your energy strong for the mission ahead. We need full focus."

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Kay asked.

John: "Yeah."

"I hope you're right," Kido murmured. "I hope it works."

On the other hand, Kido kept thinking about what happened earlier that day — the argument about Zack.

"All these years, I visited the place we both called home. No sign of him. It was as if he never existed… until today," Kido thought. "I believed he was dead, or something terrible had happened to him. But here we are — he looks good. And he is still stronger than me. When we meet again, I will ask him everything."

At Dawn

At dawn, they left the base and went on the road to the former center of the Heart — where the late king lived and ruled the great nation. They saw that it was the perfect place for their mission, so they made it their new base.

They heard movement in the area. They became terrified because it was strange — an unknown environment they weren't used to. They had no idea what was coming, but the good thing was that they knew how to react fast.

The movement came closer and closer. They were all ready for the worst. And a moment later, they heard a familiar voice.

It was Max and his men.

Max: "Young lord, it's me. We've been on this mission for a while. And it's finally safe for us to use this place."

Kido stepped forward confidently, acting like the one Max was talking to — like he was the young lord in charge.

Mary sighed. "Kido, please stop embarrassing yourself."

Kay: "Max said young lord. That's John, not you."

Max nodded. "Yeah."

Kido smiled proudly. "Good."

Mary rolled her eyes. "You always make a fool out of yourself."

Kido: "Did you guys hear that? What did you just say to me?"

Max looked like nothing had happened. It was as if he never said a word, fading into the space behind them.

Max: "Why are you all on my neck? Are you all after my life?"

Kay laughed. "Max, it's really good to have you back."

Everyone burst into laughter. Kido, on the other hand, stood there with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Mary: "We have to inform the soldiers and begin preparations. Okay? And Max… I have a mission for you."

Max: "A mission?"

Mary: "Yes. I want you to look into something for me. I mean, I want you to keep an eye on someone. I need you to report every single detail to me, because it will be needful. Lives depend on it. Okay?"

Max stood straight. "Okay. And who is that?"

Mary shook her head. "I will let you know when the time comes."

Zack, on the other hand, tracked the scouts sent from the Northern Nation using his ability. He had enhanced senses and could track anything on earth. He also possessed invisibility and exceptional fighting skills, which made him outstanding.

For days, he searched for them. Finally, he reached their location.

The scouts were sitting and resting, because they had never stopped searching for the young lord — the one they came to find. Their mission, their priority, and their primary goal.

Ray, the head of the mission, suddenly felt they were being watched. He turned to his men. "Prepare yourselves for anything that comes next."

Out of nowhere, a figure stepped out of the shadows and walked toward them.
