The northern strike force held the final ridge through the night while the Abyss continued emptying the troop rift.
From the coalition position, the opening could be seen widening and narrowing above the central plateau as one formation after another crossed through it. Infantry entered first, followed by transport beasts carrying wounded soldiers and sealed cargo. Every transfer brightened the anchor structures beneath the opening, and the pressure moving across the plateaus made the black crystal roads tremble under the feet of the defenders reorganizing there.
The western beast pens burned in uneven rows.
Some had been emptied before the evacuation road was cut. Others still held armored creatures that had not been moved in time, and Abyssal handlers were fastening corruption plates around them while soldiers dragged chain hubs into prepared positions beneath the pens. Smoke from the burned stores moved north across the ridge system, carrying the smell of scorched leather, blood, and black essence toward the coalition scouts.
The mobile gates on the upper plateaus were being dismantled.
Aerial soldiers carried anchor stones into the central defenses while gate engineers removed temporary receiving frames from the outer ridges. The aerial general remained above them, its long spatial spear directing every movement. The ground general had returned to the lower plateau and was reorganizing the surviving war beasts around a broad anchor structure buried beneath the western pens.
Tianlan watched both generals from behind a low stone barrier.
His left wrist remained secured inside the rigid brace fitted after the first rift battle. The pain had lessened while marching, but every hard spear impact at the southern pass had deepened the fracture and spread soreness through the forearm. He could move the hand, though the healer had forbidden him from using it to drive two-handed force through the spear.
Xiangyin stood beside him with her weapon resting vertically against the road. Her right shoulder remained bound beneath her armor, and the ribs injured during the rearguard and Rift Marshal battles had not healed enough to tolerate repeated heavy clashes. She kept her breathing shallow while studying the ground general's position, though she did not try to hide the pain from Tianlan when he looked toward her.
"Can you anchor it tomorrow?" he asked.
"For a short fight."
"How short?"
"That depends on how much force it draws from the beasts."
Tianlan looked toward the lower pens. "There are more chains than there were at the pass."
"Yes. The anchor is carrying part of the command now."
A Veridian healer approached from behind the barrier and checked the binding around Xiangyin's shoulder. "Do not lift the spear above this height unless you have to."
Xiangyin looked at the healer's hand. "What happens if I do?"
"The joint may move again."
"Can you reset it on the plateau?"
"Yes, but not while the general is hitting you."
Xiangyin nodded. "Then I will keep the movement low."
The healer turned to Tianlan. "Show me the wrist."
He extended the injured arm.
The healer pressed around the brace, checked the circulation through the fingers, and examined the meridian strain running into his shoulder. "The fracture has not spread since the pass."
"Can I fight at dawn?"
"You can fight. None of you can fight for hours at full strength."
"What happens if the battle lasts that long?"
"Your formations weaken before the enemy's."
Tianlan looked toward the rift and the thousands of soldiers still waiting to cross. "Then we do not fight them all at once."
"That would help."
Behind them, Ling'er rested near the first heavy road formation. Her left wing remained folded tightly, and the muscle near the repaired tear had stiffened after the cold mountain march. She could still open it enough for short movement, but the healer assigned to her had ordered her to remain near the ground formations.
Xue'er sat on a raised platform beside Yueru's upper assault group. The swelling around her shoulder had returned after the gate operation, and a support band held the injured wing close to her side. She watched every movement above the rift and repeatedly shifted toward the edge whenever another aerial formation crossed between the plateaus.
Baiyun occupied the central ridge between the lower and upper groups.
He had completed no additional spatial movement after marking the aerial general during the evacuation battle. The channels beneath his chest feathers continued flickering when he circulated too much power, so his assignment remained observation and relay rather than direct combat.
Tianlan crossed the ridge to check all three companions before the planning council began.
Ling'er raised her head when he approached.
A Veridian healer loosened the wing support and examined the muscle beneath it. "The tear is still closed."
"How much can she fly?" Tianlan asked.
"A few minutes at a time."
"Can she reinforce the lower road?"
"Yes. Keep her close to a landing point."
Ling'er pressed her head against Tianlan's shoulder.
He rested his uninjured hand beneath her jaw. "You stay near the healers and heavy formations. Do not cross the plateau unless Xuanyin changes your assignment."
The falcon accepted the restriction.
Xue'er watched him approach with less patience.
Yueru stood beside her and looked toward the swollen joint. "She should remain on the first upper platform."
Tianlan asked the healer, "How many attacks can she make?"
"Two short ones if the shoulder does not worsen."
"What happens after that?"
"She remains grounded."
Xue'er clicked her beak.
Tianlan met her gaze. "Two. Yueru decides when."
The falcon turned toward Yueru.
Yueru rested one hand against the feathers near Xue'er's neck. "I will not waste them."
Baiyun's healer gave the final report.
"The chest channels are stable while he rests," she said. "He can perform one or two emergency spatial movements."
"Can he use Lightning?" Tianlan asked.
"Not with Space."
"What if the upper group loses communication?"
"He can climb and relay visually. Do not ask him to fight the aerial general."
Tianlan looked toward Baiyun.
The falcon's answer through the bond remained calm.
He understood.
Inside the Dao Palace of Creation, Xuanyin sat before the two battlefield maps while Liora arranged medicine and support cushions around her command chair. The northern troop-rift projection occupied the left half of the chamber. The eastern engine-rift front occupied the right, showing the mobile bastion halted inside the corruption trench while both forces prepared for the next engagement.
Haotian remained near the central gateway array.
He had withdrawn from the eastern receiving point after the six reserve legions crossed, returning to the Dao Palace of Creation so he could reinforce either front once the commanders established stable destinations. The Dao Palace of the Universe remained open around his perception, but he kept its active reach narrow while recovering the reserves spent closing the first rift.
Xuanyin contacted the northern scouts.
"How many soldiers have already crossed the troop rift?"
An Umbrel scout answered from a concealed position below the final ridge. "At least four thousand since sunset."
"How many remain?"
"More than six thousand inside the defensive plateaus. That does not include anyone inside the underground shelters or central barracks."
"How many beasts?"
"Nearly two thousand large animals. Many are injured or not prepared for transport."
"Can the rift move all of them before tomorrow night?"
A Celestara specialist examined the transfer cycles. "Not at the current rate. The central anchor may be able to widen the opening, but that would place more strain on the outer structures."
A northern commander leaned over the physical map beside Tianlan. "Why not attack now? They are still moving formations."
Xuanyin heard him through the open channel. "Because we do not know which structures are the real anchors."
"The lower platform has one beneath the beast pens."
"It may be a command hub rather than the anchor itself."
Yueru added, "The upper plateau shows six possible receiving structures. Only one carries the anchor law."
Ziyue looked toward the troop formations entering the rift. "How long do you need to identify the real ones?"
"One large transfer cycle."
The commander looked at the rift. "How many people cross during one cycle?"
"Several hundred," Yueru said.
"That is another several hundred soldiers reaching the stronghold."
"It is also the first time all three anchor systems must carry the same load," Xuanyin replied. "Attacking the wrong structure costs us more time than watching one cycle."
The coalition held.
The next evacuation began shortly before midnight.
Heavy beasts moved from the western plateau toward the central road. Their corruption armor brightened as the Lower Beast Anchor carried command pressure through the pen foundations. The upper plateau synchronized five remaining mobile gates, shifting aerial troops into positions around the central barrier. The central rift widened, and the structure beneath it absorbed power from both outer systems.
Yueru watched the transfer through a Celestara projection.
"The lower anchor is beneath the western platform," she said. "The visible pen hub is only the upper casing."
A Celestara specialist marked the true core below it.
"The Upper Sky Anchor is moving," Yueru continued. "It is not inside any single gate frame. The aerial general is carrying the synchronization law through its spear and transferring the anchor between three prepared platforms."
"What about the central anchor?" Tianlan asked.
"Directly beneath the rift platform," the specialist answered. "It controls the inner barrier and transfer rate."
Xuanyin arranged the three confirmed structures across the map.
"The lower and upper groups attack at dawn."
She placed ten fast mixed legions, both heavy road formations, Marephoros and Pyrelith specialists, Tianlan, Xiangyin, and Ling'er over the western plateau.
"Your objective is the Lower Beast Anchor. Tianlan and Xiangyin hold the ground general while the mixed legions dismantle the command network."
Tianlan looked toward the four major pen complexes. "How many chain hubs?"
"Unknown," Xuanyin said. "Umbrel scouts confirm at least three. Assume more."
"Do we defeat the general before attacking the anchor?"
"Not until we understand the return route. The general is drawing force from the herd and sending it back into the lower barrier."
Xiangyin asked, "What happens if it releases every remaining beast at once?"
"The lower legions do not hold every lane," Xuanyin answered. "Open the western pens and force the herd away from the rift road."
A Pyrelith commander looked at the marked road. "The animals may turn back toward the squads."
"Veridian and Light specialists weaken the corruption control. Marephoros opens one route and closes the others. Do not surround them."
Xuanyin moved six fast mixed legions, Celestara specialists, Umbrel scouts, two aerial detachments, Yueru, Ziyue, and Xue'er onto the upper plateau.
"Your objective is the Upper Sky Anchor. Stop the remaining mobile gates from reinforcing the lower battle and prevent the aerial general from carrying the anchor behind the central barrier."
Yueru asked, "What happens if the general moves the anchor again?"
"Track the anchor law, not the physical structure."
"What if it carries the real synchronization mark into the inner barrier?"
"Then the upper group reports immediately. Do not follow into the barrier without support."
Ziyue studied the upper paths. "Can the central barrier absorb the sky anchor?"
"Yes," the Celestara specialist answered. "If it does, the barrier becomes stronger and the upper system harder to isolate."
"Then we cannot let it reach the center."
Xuanyin placed Baiyun, two fast mixed legions, the remaining aerial detachments, and additional Veridian teams on the central ridge between both assault routes.
"Baiyun watches both plateaus and reports any movement from the central army. The mobile reserve protects the retreat ridge and reinforces whichever group loses communication."
Tianlan asked, "What if the central troops attack while both groups are committed?"
"Baiyun reports it. The reserve delays them."
"What do I do?"
"You do not abandon the lower anchor unless your retreat route is threatened."
The plan left no group with enough strength to destroy every enemy on its front.
That was intentional.
The coalition needed to break the anchor system before its injured leaders and exhausted mixed legions lost the ability to continue. They would attack structures, routes, and command points rather than trying to kill more than six thousand soldiers through open attrition.
The night passed under constant rift light.
The Abyss continued evacuating troops. The coalition repaired weapons, redistributed medicine, and allowed every squad assigned to the first descent at least several hours of rest. Armorers worked behind concealed barriers along the ridge, replacing shield plates and tightening the fittings on the heavy formations.
Umbrel scouts entered the western plateau before dawn.
They returned with reports of underground service roads beneath the beast pens, chain lines passing through the foundations, and a fourth command hub protected near the ground general's anchor platform. Blue Sphere guides compared the routes with old mountain records and found maintenance tunnels that predated the Abyssal occupation.
The first light reached the eastern sky.
Xuanyin opened all northern channels.
"Advance."
The lower and upper assault groups moved together.
Pyrelith shield formations descended toward the western plateau behind layered barriers. Marephoros cultivators reinforced the road beneath them and raised low dividing walls before the first enemy charge reached the slopes. Umbrel shadows covered the real healer positions, while Celestara specialists sealed the space behind the assault so no mobile gate could open among the rear squads.
Blue Sphere guides led two mixed legions into the old maintenance paths beneath the beast pens.
Ling'er remained close to the center of the lower road.
Earth and Metal spread from her position into the prepared lanes. Light moved through the plateau and exposed the black command chains buried beneath the pen foundations, while Water and Ice slowed corruption traveling through the armor of the nearest beasts.
The upper assault divided along two ridges.
Yueru moved with the Celestara specialists and main mixed formations, placing passive markers on every stable platform. Ziyue crossed the outer paths with Umbrel scouts and one aerial detachment, attacking gate engineers before they could remove the receiving anchors.
Xue'er remained near the first upper platform.
The Abyss responded at once.
The Lower Beast Anchor activated.
Every remaining pen gate opened.
Armored quadrupeds entered the roads first, their shoulders fitted with black plates and chain rings. Predatory beasts followed along the flanks, while broad-backed transport creatures carried platform troops and corruption throwers. Smaller pack animals were driven between them, many wounded from the evacuation march and forced forward through command pressure carried beneath the ground.
The ground general stood above the lower anchor platform.
Its broken standard had been reforged into a shorter chain weapon wrapped around one forearm. The heavy polearm remained in its other hand, and several black lines entered the plateau beneath its left foot.
Tianlan saw the command spread.
"The general is not controlling all of them directly."
Xiangyin followed the chains through the road. "The anchor is carrying the pressure through the pens."
"Then breaking the standard is not enough."
"We isolate the general from the anchor and let the squads dismantle the hubs."
The first beast wave reached the lower legions.
Pyrelith fighters met the largest animals inside reinforced lanes. Their shields angled rather than remaining flat, turning the beasts toward side walls where Marephoros cultivators had strengthened the ground. Hammers and heavy blades struck armor joints, harness supports, and exposed legs after the animals lost balance.
One horned beast broke through the first lane.
Tianlan used Space to shift its route several feet toward the western wall. The movement did not stop the animal, but it turned the head enough that the charge missed the healer station and struck a reinforced barrier instead.
Metal gathered along Tianlan's spear.
He attacked beneath the shoulder plate and cut one command chain entering the animal's armor. The beast staggered, shook its head, and tried to turn away from the road.
An Abyssal handler pulled the secondary rein.
Ling'er exposed it through Light.
A Blue Sphere cultivator severed the line, while Veridian healers moved close enough to purge the corruption around the animal's neck. The beast fled west after Marephoros cultivators opened a route through the outer wall.
The lower battle spread across the entire plateau.
The first mixed legions did not wait for Tianlan, Xiangyin, or Ling'er to solve every failure. Pyrelith pairs reinforced lanes when larger beasts arrived. Marephoros cultivators opened escape routes for animals freed from command and closed the rift road behind them. Umbrel scouts entered the pens through concealed service passages and marked the secondary chain hubs.
Veridian healers treated crushing injuries beside squads still fighting.
Celestara specialists stopped two temporary gates from opening behind the heavy formations. Blue Sphere cultivators guided fighters through the older maintenance paths and reached the underside of the first pen complex.
Ling'er remained near the ground.
A corruption wave entered the second lane through the armor of several wounded animals. She opened the injured wing only far enough to stabilize herself, then released Water and Ice through the road while Light separated the command pressure from the physical beasts.
Earth rose around the healer route.
Wood sustained two injured cultivators long enough for the Veridian team to reach them.
The strain tightened the damaged wing.
Ling'er landed before it weakened further.
Tianlan felt the pain through their bond but did not call her away from the assignment. The healers remained protected, and the lane squad had already taken control of the animals she freed.
The ground general descended from the anchor platform.
It struck the lower road with the polearm.
Force moved through the buried chains, entered several beast leaders, and returned through the general's stance. The black lines beneath its left foot brightened, strengthening the armor across its damaged shoulder and hip.
Xiangyin intercepted before it reached the first heavy formation.
She fixed the road around the general through Earth and Space, narrowing the physical route toward the coalition line. Metal reinforced her spear while solar Light exposed the cracks left from the previous battle.
The general swung.
Xiangyin met the polearm low, keeping the impact away from the injured shoulder. Force gathered from three charging beasts still drove through the weapon and into her stance.
Her rear foot slid.
Tianlan attacked from the right.
He used Wind and Lightning for the final approach, while a controlled burst of Dragon Dao reinforced his spine and right arm. The spear aimed beneath the general's damaged shoulder.
A beast leader changed direction.
The animal charged across Tianlan's path, carrying platform soldiers behind its armor.
Tianlan redirected the spear into the command chain instead of committing to the general.
The chain broke.
The beast turned west, throwing several soldiers from the platform as it fled toward the open pen road.
The general's opening closed.
Xiangyin drove three short thrusts toward its feet.
The first forced it away from the heavy formation. The second pinned the chain weapon against the ground. The third nearly reached the damaged hip before the Lower Beast Anchor sent another pulse beneath the plateau.
The general's stance strengthened.
Tianlan remained outside the false opening.
The general looked toward him and pulled the buried chain line harder.
Another beast wave entered the lower road.
"Can you keep it away from the anchor?" Tianlan asked.
"Not while the chain beneath its left foot remains active."
"Which chain?"
"The one entering the plateau. It is not attached to the weapon."
Tianlan followed the black line through Light reflected from Ling'er's position. It passed under the general's boot, entered the anchor platform, and divided into several routes beneath the pens.
"The return path is underground."
"Yes."
Xuanyin received the report. "Do not try to sever it yet. I need to know what the anchor does with the returned force."
The general attacked again.
Xiangyin anchored the strike, while Tianlan broke another chain carrying command pressure into the second lane. Their improved coordination kept the enemy away from the heavy formation, but the beasts continued interrupting every shared opening.
Above them, the Upper Sky Anchor activated.
Five temporary gates opened around the plateaus.
Aerial troops entered the lower battlefield through receiving frames, targeting the rear of Tianlan's formation and the Celestara specialists sealing the retreat road. Yueru's upper group moved before the first full formation descended.
Spectral blades entered the open gates.
Some returned through false routes.
Two passed into real receiving frames and marked the anchor stones hidden beneath the platforms.
Yueru raised her sword. "The western gate is real."
Ziyue crossed the ridge.
Wind carried her over the first gap, cloud movement changed her elevation beneath a portal strike, and Space shortened the final distance to the receiving platform. Her Freedom Sword Dao rejected the direct route prepared by the aerial general and carried her through the side of the formation instead.
She struck the gate engineer.
The first slash cut the control rod.
The second severed the line connecting the receiving frame to the Upper Sky Anchor.
Pyrelith fighters reached the platform and broke the physical stone.
The western gate collapsed.
Aerial soldiers already on the lower side remained trapped in the coalition's battlefield, where Umbrel scouts marked their landing positions and mixed squads intercepted them before they reached Tianlan's rear.
Xue'er made her first attack.
She launched from the upper platform, crossed a narrow gap, and froze the base of another receiving anchor. Fire burned through the hands of two gate engineers attempting to move it, while Lightning cracked the physical casing before Pyrelith fighters arrived.
Her turn back toward Yueru's formation was slower.
She landed with the injured wing held lower.
Yueru looked toward the shoulder. "One more attack only."
Xue'er stared at the remaining gates.
"You still have one," Yueru said. "Do not use it before we identify the real anchor position."
Xue'er remained on the platform.
The aerial general descended.
Its long spatial spear carried a circular mark beneath the head. Every thrust passed through a narrow portal and emerged from another angle, allowing the general to attack without crossing the full distance between platforms.
One strike entered a gate beside the upper ridge.
It emerged behind Ziyue.
She changed direction through cloud movement and let the spear point pass beside her ribs. The general opened a second portal above Yueru's mixed squad, redirecting the weapon toward the Celestara specialists.
Yueru released Time around the receiving frame.
The portal remained open for a fraction longer than the general intended.
Her spectral sword entered through it and struck the spear shaft on the opposite side.
The circular mark shifted.
Three mobile gates moved at once.
Yueru watched the anchor law follow the weapon. "The spear carries the synchronization mark."
A Celestara specialist studied the moving structure. "The Upper Sky Anchor is not inside the weapon. The spear tells it which platform owns the anchor."
Ziyue landed beside Yueru. "Then which one holds it now?"
"The northernmost platform."
The aerial general changed the spear angle.
The anchor began transferring.
Yueru attacked the law route with a precision Sword Dao cut. The transfer slowed, but the general opened several portal strikes around her and forced her to defend.
Ziyue moved toward the northern platform.
The general appeared above her through a gate.
Their weapons collided in the air.
Wind and Lightning spread from Ziyue's sword, while the general's spatial spear redirected part of the force into another receiving frame. The displaced attack emerged beside an Umbrel squad below.
Celestara specialists closed the route before the energy struck.
Yueru understood the immediate problem.
They could fight the general or track the anchor, but trying to do both allowed the gate network to continue reinforcing the lower battlefield.
"Keep it away from the engineers," she told Ziyue. "I will find the anchor's transfer interval."
Ziyue drove the aerial general toward the outer platform.
She changed direction each time the spear opened a portal, refusing to follow the fixed lines between attack and retreat. The general remained physically stronger and possessed the entire upper formation behind it, but it could not ignore her long enough to complete the anchor transfer safely.
Xue'er waited.
Below, the eastern mobile bastion entered the deepest part of the first corruption trench.
The six reserve legions had completed their deployment behind Lianhua's protection. Heavy barriers stood across the coalition line, while engine-breaking teams waited beside reinforced wedges, insulated chains, and broad hammers built to damage ritual platforms without releasing their cores.
The bastion moved in four major sections.
The forward platform carried layered shields and several smaller engines. The central propulsion platform controlled the black crystal rails and the law allowing the fortress to use the trench as part of its movement structure. The upper siege platform held the largest weapons, while the command platform remained behind them under the fourth commander's control.
Shuyue followed the law connecting all four.
"They are not only linked physically," she said. "Each platform carries part of the fortress identity."
A Pyrelith commander looked toward the forward section. "What happens if we break it?"
"The shield function may transfer into another platform."
"Can we stop that?"
"Not until I separate the law."
Yinxue traced the connections beneath the trench. "The command platform is tied to propulsion through three imposed bonds and one physical formation route."
"Which one controls movement?" Yanfei asked.
"The imposed bonds carry authority. The physical route carries power."
Shuyue nodded. "We separate identity before the engine teams destroy anything."
Lianhua stood behind the first heavy formations.
Lotus light covered the reserve deployment, kept the engine pressure from breaking squad discipline, and prevented false panic from spreading when the bastion's upper weapons turned toward the gateway.
Yanfei entered the edge of the trench.
Frost spread beneath the black crystal rails. She avoided the buried engine cores, placing cold between them through Space rather than freezing the entire surface. Fire burned the corruption surrounding each rail, while Yin–Yang kept the changing temperatures from detonating the damaged mechanisms below.
The forward platform slowed.
Marephoros cultivators raised the near trench bank, creating a physical incline the bastion had not prepared to cross. Pyrelith engine teams drove reinforced wedges into the first rail junction while Celestara specialists prevented the platform from shifting sideways through Space.
The fortress stopped several dozen paces from the coalition barriers.
The fourth commander lifted the rectangular engine blade.
Pale law moved from the command platform toward the center of the bastion.
Shuyue felt the transfer. "It is moving propulsion authority into the central platform."
Yinxue looked toward the new connection. "Can we cut it?"
"Not while the shared law remains intact."
The bastion began moving again.
Back on the northern lower plateau, the ground general activated every remaining beast pen.
Iron gates fell outward.
The final herd entered the roads in a mass of armor, horns, claws, and black command chains. Many animals were already wounded. Some dragged broken platforms behind them, while others carried armor packed with corruption and damaged engine fragments.
The formation was not intended to reach the rift.
It was intended to crush the coalition and cover the destruction of the Lower Beast Anchor's records.
Tianlan saw the command pressure spread beneath the plateau. "They are going to drive the whole herd into the road."
Xiangyin looked toward the western pen walls. "Open them before the charge reaches us."
A Blue Sphere commander contacted the lower legions. "What if the animals turn toward our squads?"
"Leave one clear route west," Xiangyin answered. "Do not surround them."
Marephoros and Pyrelith cultivators attacked the western pen walls.
Earth moved beneath the foundations, breaking the lower supports. Heavy hammers struck the upper braces, while Umbrel scouts entered the handlers' shadows and cut the smaller control lines before the animals were released.
Veridian healers and Light specialists weakened the corruption around the nearest beast leaders.
The western walls opened.
Some animals turned immediately.
Others continued charging under pressure from the Lower Beast Anchor.
The ground general pulled the command chain beneath its left foot and drove the polearm into the road. Force entered the herd through the pen foundations. Several beast leaders roared, lowered their heads, and forced the animals around them back toward the coalition lanes.
Ling'er spread Light across the plateau.
The buried command network became visible through the road.
Four major hubs pulsed beneath the pens and transport structures.
Xuanyin enlarged the pattern on the command map. Reports from Tianlan, Ling'er, the Umbrel scouts, and the lower squads completed the cycle.
"The anchor sends command pressure through the pen foundations," she said. "The hubs carry it into the beast leaders. The general redirects the herd through its polearm and chain weapon. Force from the charges returns through its planted stance and strengthens the lower barrier."
Tianlan looked toward the ground general. "What do we break first?"
"Separate the general from the return route. Then destroy the secondary hubs."
"What happens if we kill the general before that?"
"The herd command returns to the anchor. It may discharge through every remaining beast."
Xiangyin asked, "What happens if we destroy the anchor first?"
"The stored force enters the plateau and the general."
"How many hubs remain?"
An Umbrel scout answered from beneath the first pen. "Four confirmed."
Xuanyin marked them. "One mixed squad to each hub. Do not attack the anchor core until all four are down."
The first hub lay beneath the western beast pen.
Umbrel scouts entered through the service tunnel and located the casing wrapped around the command lines. Pyrelith cultivators followed with heavy tools, while Veridian healers prepared purification barriers around the exit.
The casing broke under three hammer strikes.
Corruption poured into the tunnel.
Veridian light contained it before it reached the mixed squad, and the hub went dark.
The second hub occupied a transport platform near the central road.
Blue Sphere guides found an access route beneath the loading ramp. Celestara specialists stopped the platform from shifting through Space when the Abyssal engineers tried to move it toward the rift, while Marephoros cultivators stabilized the wheels and frame.
The mixed squad tore the hub from the platform.
A third remained attached to the largest beast leader on the lower plateau.
Ling'er exposed the chain through Light.
The animal carried enough armor to crush a full shield line and continued charging despite several wounds. Tianlan could not leave the ground general, so a fast mixed squad moved under his direction.
Marephoros cultivators raised a narrow wall that turned the beast away from the healer route. Pyrelith fighters struck the armor joints, while Veridian specialists slowed the corruption around the chain.
Ling'er moved along the ground beside them.
Water and Ice reduced the pressure inside the armor. Metal reinforced one claw as she struck the exposed chain hub beneath the animal's shoulder.
The casing cracked.
A Blue Sphere sword cultivator cut the final connection.
The beast staggered, turned toward the open western route, and fled without attacking the coalition line.
The third hub failed.
The fourth stood beside the ground general.
Black lines entered the platform beneath its feet and connected directly to the shorter chain weapon wrapped around its arm. The general understood that the other hubs had fallen.
It began retreating toward the Lower Beast Anchor.
Xiangyin blocked the route.
She planted her spear in the road and released Earth and Space through the damaged plateau. The general's rear foot fixed to the ground for less than a breath, but that was enough to stop the first retreat step.
The polearm descended.
Xiangyin met it low.
Force gathered from every remaining controlled beast and entered the weapon. Her shoulder shifted beneath the strain, and pain crossed her ribs as the ground around her fractured.
Ling'er reinforced the road.
Earth and Metal spread beneath Xiangyin's stance while Light exposed the underground return chain.
Tianlan waited.
The ground general raised the polearm again and pulled more force from the herd. The remaining command pressure entered its left leg and moved toward the anchor.
Xiangyin twisted her spear.
Wind redirected the polearm away from the mixed squads attacking the fourth hub.
"Now."
Tianlan moved.
A controlled burst of Dragon Dao reinforced his spine and right arm. Space changed his approach around the polearm, while Metal and Lightning gathered at the spearhead.
He did not attack the general's core.
The spear entered the fourth chain hub beside the rear foot.
The general released the shorter chain weapon toward him.
Tianlan turned his injured wrist away and held the shaft with the right hand, allowing the chain to wrap around the reinforced center rather than his arm.
Xiangyin pushed the polearm farther aside.
Tianlan drove the spear deeper.
Metal split the casing.
Lightning entered the command route.
The fourth hub broke.
Every remaining chain across the lower plateau went dark.
The beasts lost forced coordination.
Some continued forward from momentum, but the open western route drew many away from the rift road. Veridian specialists purified the command residue from the closest animals, while mixed squads withdrew from their paths instead of trapping them.
The ground general tried to transfer its stored force into the Lower Beast Anchor.
Celestara specialists severed the spatial route.
Marephoros cultivators grounded the backlash through the plateau.
The returned power had nowhere to go.
It entered the general's body.
Black cracks spread across the repaired armor.
Xiangyin withdrew her spear from the polearm and struck the damaged hip. Solar Light and Metal entered the fracture, while Earth prevented the general from lifting the rear leg.
The general swung the chain weapon toward her injured shoulder.
Tianlan cut it away.
He waited until Xiangyin shifted her stance.
"Left side," she said.
Tianlan moved through the opening.
His spear entered beneath the general's damaged shoulder. Lightning disrupted the armor, while Space carried the point across the chest toward the exposed core.
The general turned.
Xiangyin attacked from the opposite side.
Her spear pierced the hip, crossed through the lower torso, and fixed the body between the two weapons.
The general tried to draw force from the herd again.
No hub answered.
It tried to move the injury toward the Lower Beast Anchor.
The Celestara severance remained closed.
Tianlan and Xiangyin released their spear power together.
Dragon Dao, Lightning, Metal, Space, and Time entered from the right. Solar Light, Earth, Metal, Wind, and the Spear Palace entered from the left.
The core split.
The ground general fell between them.
Xiangyin withdrew first.
Her knees weakened after the anchor pressure disappeared, and Tianlan used Space to reach her before she dropped fully to the road. He caught the back of her armor with his uninjured hand while keeping the spear between them and the dead general.
"Can you stand?" he asked.
"Yes."
"Your shoulder moved."
"I know."
A Veridian healer was already approaching. "Do not move it again."
Xiangyin looked toward the still-active lower anchor. "We are not finished."
"The mixed squads can hold the road," the healer said. "Let them do their work."
Xuanyin gave the immediate order. "Destroy the Lower Beast Anchor before the central system takes control."
Umbrel scouts entered the western pens and confirmed that no living beast remained connected to the command network. Veridian healers removed corruption armor from the animals trapped near the remaining structures, while Ling'er exposed every active route through Light.
Celestara specialists closed the connection between the lower and central anchors.
Marephoros cultivators stabilized the plateau.
Pyrelith fighters attacked the physical supports beneath the anchor casing.
The first brace broke.
The lower barrier flickered.
A second brace collapsed, exposing the black core buried beneath the western platform.
Tianlan looked toward Xiangyin.
Her shoulder had been secured against her body, but she could still hold the spear with the left hand and use the lower stance the healer permitted.
"Can you make one strike?" he asked.
"Yes."
They approached the core together.
Ling'er reinforced the road beneath them.
Tianlan used Space to align the exposed center. Xiangyin fixed the physical casing with Earth and Metal so the core could not shift deeper into the platform.
They struck from opposite sides.
The combined spear points entered the anchor.
Black power surged toward the empty command network.
No hub received it.
The Lower Beast Anchor shattered.
The western plateau barrier failed at once.
Command chains across the beast pens went dark. The roads built for heavy troop movement lost their spatial reinforcement, and several transport platforms tilted as the ground returned to its original slope.
The troop rift narrowed.
Above the central plateau, the opening twisted under the strain transferred into the Upper Sky Anchor and central structure.
Haotian opened the Dao Palace of the Universe around the rift from within the Dao Palace of Creation. He stabilized the opening only enough to prevent it from expanding or tearing sideways through the plateaus.
He did not close it.
Two anchors remained.
On the upper front, the aerial general felt the lower system fail.
The remaining mobile gates flickered.
Several collapsed before their receiving frames completed the next transfer, leaving aerial soldiers stranded between plateaus. Celestara specialists stabilized the Blue Sphere side of each failed route while mixed squads moved to contain the isolated defenders.
The aerial general abandoned the outer gate engineers.
It turned toward the central barrier and moved the long spatial spear through a wide arc. The Upper Sky Anchor began folding from the northern platform toward the rift.
Yueru saw the transfer.
"It is carrying the anchor into the center."
Ziyue looked toward the narrowing rift platform. "How long?"
"One transfer cycle."
"Can we stop it?"
"We have to force the anchor to remain physical."
The aerial general opened portal strikes across the upper battlefield.
Spear points emerged beside Celestara specialists, Umbrel scouts, and the Pyrelith squad moving toward the anchor platform. Ziyue crossed between them, redirecting attacks and forcing the general to defend its own body.
Yueru followed the anchor law.
The structure existed across three platforms during the transfer, but only one held its physical core at any given moment. Time revealed the interval when the anchor had to stabilize before the central barrier could receive it.
Xue'er stood on the first upper platform.
Her shoulder was swollen, and Yueru had forbidden another flight unless the anchor appeared within reach. The falcon watched the transfer through the bond she shared with Tianlan, waiting despite the instinct to move early.
Yueru marked the northern platform.
"Xue'er, now."
The falcon launched.
It was her second attack.
Wind carried her across the narrow gap without a hard turn. Frost entered the anchor's outer casing, while Fire burned through the corruption around the receiving mark.
The aerial general redirected its spear toward her.
Ziyue intercepted.
Their weapons met above the platform.
The spatial spear opened a portal beside Ziyue's ribs, but she changed direction through her Freedom Sword Dao and forced the attack away from Xue'er's path.
Pyrelith fighters reached the frozen casing.
The first hammer blow exposed the anchor's physical core.
The aerial general abandoned the clash with Ziyue and moved toward the platform.
Baiyun saw the change from the central ridge.
He relayed the true position through the bond.
Tianlan received it while the healer secured Xiangyin's shoulder.
"The aerial general is moving toward Xue'er."
"Can Baiyun intervene?" Xuanyin asked.
The healer with the mobile reserve answered. "One short movement."
Tianlan looked through the bond at Baiyun's condition. "Only if the general reaches the platform before Ziyue can stop it."
Baiyun climbed.
He remained above the central ridge, holding the emergency movement rather than spending it immediately.
The aerial general opened another portal.
Ziyue crossed into its path.
Yueru used Time to keep the Upper Sky Anchor physical for another breath.
Xue'er struck the exposed casing and returned toward the mixed squad before the injured shoulder failed. Her landing remained controlled, though the wing folded immediately after she touched the platform.
The anchor did not break.
Its outer shell remained open.
The general reached the edge of the platform and raised the spatial spear.
Yueru moved to intercept while tracking the shrinking transfer interval.
The northern upper battle had reached its final chance.
Far to the east, the mobile engine bastion completed its first transfer of function.
The forward platform remained wedged against the raised trench bank, but propulsion authority had moved into the central section. Black crystal rails formed beneath it, and the rest of the fortress dragged the immobilized front platform forward rather than leaving it behind.
Shuyue watched the law shift. "It is moving the fortress function between the platforms."
Yinxue followed the new bonds. "Can we separate them?"
"Yes, but the command blade is holding the shared law together."
The fourth commander pointed the rectangular weapon toward the coalition.
Every siege engine aboard the bastion turned.
The upper platform carried the heaviest weapons. Smaller engines along the sides aimed at the Veridian stations and reserve gateway, while the central propulsion platform gathered spatial pressure beneath the rails.
Lianhua expanded lotus light over the eastern line.
"Hold your positions," she said. "The engines are trying to make the barriers feel closer than they are."
A Pyrelith commander checked the shield spacing. "How many impacts can the first line take?"
"Two full volleys," a formation specialist answered. "Less if the spatial engines hit the same section."
Yanfei remained inside the trench near the rails.
"I can disrupt the first discharge."
Shuyue looked toward the buried cores beneath her. "Do not freeze the entire platform. The propulsion law may transfer into the trench."
"What can I freeze?"
"The physical rail beneath the upper siege section."
Yinxue traced the command bonds. "If the siege platform loses alignment, the engines cannot fire together."
Yanfei opened Space beneath the moving fortress.
Frost entered the rail under the upper section.
The fourth commander lowered the engine blade.
The bastion fired.
Black light, crystal projectiles, spatial compression, and corruption pressure crossed the trench in one synchronized wave.
Lianhua's Palace of Virtue opened across the eastern formations. Courage held the front line without forcing frightened soldiers to ignore the danger. Patience kept the shield formations from releasing their barriers before impact, while restraint prevented the rear squads from rushing into gaps created by the engine fire.
The first blasts struck.
Pyrelith shields bent.
Celestara specialists cut the spatial compression before it folded two legions into the same ground. Marephoros cultivators held the trench bank while black crystal projectiles shattered across the front barriers.
Yanfei changed the temperature beneath the siege platform.
The frozen rail contracted.
Fire expanded the surrounding metal.
The upper platform shifted several feet out of alignment.
Half the engines missed their intended targets.
The remaining force still broke through the first shield line.
Lianhua's lotus light caught the soldiers thrown backward, while Veridian healers moved into the openings before corruption settled into the wounds.
The bastion continued advancing.
Shuyue wrote the first separating law across the forward and central platforms.
"The shield platform is not the propulsion platform."
The shared fortress identity resisted.
Yinxue severed one imposed bond connecting the command blade to the central rails.
The forward section slowed independently.
The fourth commander turned toward them.
The eastern battle had only begun.
At the northern troop rift, the Lower Beast Anchor lay broken beneath the western plateau.
Tianlan reported through the command channel while healers carried Xiangyin toward the lower treatment station. "The ground general is dead. The lower anchor is down."
Xuanyin removed the structure from the northern map. "The aerial general is carrying the second anchor toward the central barrier."
Yueru watched the physical core disappearing beneath layers of moving Space. "We have one chance to stop it."
"Do not follow it inside the barrier," Xuanyin said. "Destroy the Upper Sky Anchor before the transfer completes."
Ziyue held the aerial general above the opened casing.
Xue'er remained grounded beside the mixed squad, her second attack spent. Baiyun waited over the central ridge with one emergency spatial movement remaining, while Yueru prepared to force the anchor into a single physical position.
Below them, Tianlan and Ling'er could not climb to the upper battle before the transfer completed. Xiangyin could no longer fight, and the lower mixed legions were still securing the freed beasts and broken plateau.
On the eastern projection, the mobile bastion's engines began charging for another volley.
Xuanyin opened both command channels.
"Neither front waits."
The northern plateau had fallen, but above it the final mobile gates were closing, while far to the east an entire fortress prepared to fire again.
