*At Dareth's dojo, the ninjas are training Lloyd, who is trying to light a light bulb with his Lightning. He grunts as Jay passes him.*
"Focus, Lloyd. Control the power inside you. When you feel a surge welling up, harness it, " Jay said.
"I understand. I am in control." Lloyd groans.
"Come on, Lloyd. You can do it," said Jay.
Lloyd breaks the bulb. "Aargh! Stupid light bulb! You're putting too much pressure on me. Let me have one more try."
"Ugh, sorry, Lloyd. That was the last light bulb," said Kai.
Cole hands him a broom. "Clean up, Lloyd. We'll continue training tomorrow."
Lloyd uses it to punch a punching bag.
Nalia took a look up from her diary and giggled, watching Lloyd.
Jay sighs. "What am I doing wrong, Sensei Wu? I can't seem to teach him to control his power."
Lloyd's broom hits him on the head.
"You dare to defy the Green Ninja!?" said Lloyd.
A snort came from Nalia as she tried holding in a laugh, which caught Lloyd's attention.
Lloyd decided to point the broom towards her. "The Green Ninja demands the Yellow Ninja to help him clean up."
"The Yellow Ninja says no." said Nalia, sticking out her tongue.
"Patience, Jay. Sometimes, the greatest opponent we face is ourselves, and that's especially true of Lloyd. Remember where he came from. He's the son of Lord Garmadon. It's going to take time for him to embrace the light." said Wu.
*Nya enters the room, wearing her sequined dress.*
"Hey, guys." said Nya.
"Hey, Nya!" They all said.
"Hey, Jay. Uh, wanna come by the autobody shop later?" Nya asked.
"Uh, the autobody shop?" Jay asked.
"Yeah. I got a part-time job. Though I could fix up the Ultra Sonic Raider in my off time. Maybe if you come over, I can show you what I've been working on." said Nya.
"Uh, sure, heh." Jay notices Nya is holding a letter. "Uh, what you got there?"
"Oh, um, this letter came for Lloyd." Nya hands it to Wu.
"Hmm. It's from Lloyd's old school." said Wu.
"A school!" Nalia quickly got up, closing her diary. "What kind of school?"
"The Darkley School for Bad Boys?" Cole asked.
"The what?" Nalia now looking confused.
"Formerly Bad Boys. Since the last time we were there, they've changed to the Darkley School for Great Children." said Wu.
"Heh, wait. They've turned good?" Kai asked.
"Hmm, it says here there's going to be a ceremony." said Wu.
"I love ceremonies. That means there's going to be cake." said Cole.
"Lloyd's change inspired them. Now they've invited Lloyd to give him an honorary degree in excellence." said Wu.
Lloyd breaks the broom and headbutts the punching bag.
"Are we sure we're talking about the same Lloyd?" Kai asked.
"I don't think headbutting the punching bag is gonna help your training," said Nalia, holding her hand.
"I am the Green Ninja, and so I say I will beat every bad guy with a headbutt," said Lloyd, taking her hand.
Nalia gave him a deadpan look, not finding it funny. "I think Kai's ego is affecting you."
"Hey!"
*Later, the ninjas are flying their way toward the school.*
"Whoo-hoo-hoo! Now that we can ride the dragon, we should get to Darkley's in no time." said Jay.
Nalia hummed softly, as it seemed like she was conversing with the Ultra Dragon.
"If Lloyd can get us there in one piece." said Kai.
"Just be gentle. Any sudden moves can cause him to—" said Cole.
"Any sudden what?" Lloyd pulls on the reins.
*The ninjas scream while Nalia laughs as the dragon dives.*
"The reins! Let go of the reins!" shouted Cole.
*Lloyd does so and they finally land on the ground.*
"Hehe. At least I'm getting better." said Lloyd.
"That was fun, can we do it again?" Nalia asked, with a big smile.
"NO!" shouted the ninjas at her.
"All the same, I'll take the reins going home. Just to be safe." said Cole.
"Lloyd?" said a boy coming over.
"Uh, Brad?" said Lloyd.
"You came! So good to see you." said Brad.
"It is? You put fire ants in my bed." said Lloyd.
"Please forgive me. I wasn't myself and have learned the error of my ways." said Brad, until he noticed someone behind him. "Who's that?"
Lloyd looked behind him, seeing it was Nalia; he was surprised to see her act all shy since she didn't act like that when they first met. "Oh, this is Li-Nalia."
"Hi, it's nice to meet another friend of Lloyd," said Nalia, shyly smiling.
Brad was surprised by her soft voice and couldn't help but blush. "W-wow, that's a pretty name, I-I mean voice. No, wait I mean, it's nice to meet you Nalia. I'm Brad." A silly smile grew on his face.
A soft giggle came from Nalia, as she watched him stumble with his words. "Thanks, Brad."
Even just hearing her giggle was making Brad all charmed by her.
"If you want you can call me Lia, all of my other friends calls me that." said Nalia, growing more comfortable as she stopped hiding behind Lloyd.
"Lia, sure. That is a cute nickname." said Brad smiling stupidly at her.
Nalia wasn't sure why, but she started blushing when he called it cute.
Lloyd couldn't help but grow a little jealous watching them. So he went on to take Nalia's hand in his own, his eyes ever so slightly glowed red.
Nalia didn't mind holding hands with Lloyd, so she didn't even notice his jealously, let alone his eyes glowing red for a second.
Brad raised an eyebrow at Lloyd before noticing the ninjas. "And you must be the ninja!"
Lloyd cleared his throat and turned to the ninjas. "Uh, guys. Meet Brad Tudabone."
"Such a huge fan!" Brad shakes their hands. "Go good! Haha. Uh, please, will you not follow me to see the Principal?"
Everyone started following him while Lloyd was still holding Nalia's hand and not taking any chances of her charming another boy in the school.
As they are walking Cole realizes the classrooms are empty. "Uh, shouldn't you all be in class?"
"Actually, today is a new Darkley School tradition: Ninja Day. We stay out of sight to honor the way of the ninja for showing us the light." said Brad.
"Huh, this is a good school. I'm impressed." said Cole.
"That's amazing," said Nalia with a big smile, causing Brad to blush again. So he turned his attention back to the door they were coming over to.
Lloyd narrowed his eyes at Brad as he gently squeezed Nalia's hand.
"Principal Noble? Lloyd and the ninjas are here for the ceremony." said Brad.
"That, and the cake. By the way, do you know what kind it is?" said Cole.
"I'll be with you in just a moment." said "Noble".
"I should get back to the flowers." said Brad.
"Um, heh, has anyone seen a teacher yet?" Jay asked.
"Indeed, their absence is most strange." said Zane.
"I'll see you now. Come in, come in." said "Noble".
*The ninjas walks in, but "Noble" is revealed to be Gene.*
"Welcome back, Lloyd." said Gene.
"Uh, Gene?" said Lloyd confused.
Nalia raised an eyebrow, very confused about what was going on.
"And welcome, ninjas, to the new Darkley's School for Worse Boys!" Gene cuts a rope, which dropped sandbags to knock the ninjas unconscious.
"Aaah!"
"Guy—" Nalia get's knocked out.
"Ugh. Gene, I'm gonna get you for thi—" Lloyd blacks out.
*Lloyd and Nalia wake up and find themselves tied up in chairs while the students try to turn Lloyd evil again.*
"Welcome to your ceremony, Lloyd. Or, should I call it an evil intervention?" said Brad.
"Where are my friends?" Lloyd asked, before glancing over at Nalia.
Nalia wasn't sure what was happening, but she didn't like it as a few tears formed at the corner of her eyes.
"Aw, they're better off without you. With friends like you, who needs enemies?" said Gene.
"You may have forgotten, but we're your true friends. And we want to help you undo the damage you've done to yourself and our school's reputation. Be honest. Doesn't a part of you miss being bad?" said Brad.
Nalia looked over at Lloyd, not saying a word since they woke up.
"Haha. Come on, you can untie me. Really, this is just a huge relief. I couldn't stand being good. Ha. Thank you for saving me." said Lloyd.
"....What." Nalia's eyes widened, not wanting to believe this.
"How do we know you're not lying to us just to escape and help the ninjas?" Brad asked.
"Well, if I am truly good, I wouldn't be able to lie, which I'm not, but even if I was, wouldn't lying make me evil, thus giving you assurance that you could release me?" said Lloyd.
"You lied.... I.... but we.... How could you, Lloyd?" Nalia finally spoke, tears now running down her face. Feeling betrayed by this, she said, "I thought we were friends."
Lloyd looked over at Nalia, feeling guilty even though what he said wasn't true.
Gene started laughing as he pointed at Nalia. "Wow, she is stupid. Where did you meet such a girl with no brain!"
"Hey! Don't call her that!" shouted Lloyd, unhappy about what he said about Nalia.
"The stupid girl must have affected you. By now, you are trying to play her shiny armor," said Gene before turning around. "Come on, guys, let's give those two some space." Everyone laughed as they left. But Brad did take a final look back at Nalia, feeling kind of sorry for her.
"Lia, sorry, I didn't mean what I said back there," said Lloyd.
Nalia narrowed her teary eyes at him. "Shut it, I don't wanna hear anymore lies from you!"
Lloyd was taken aback by her outburst; he knew she didn't like lies, but he didn't think she would get this mad at him. "Lia, please."
Nalia turned her head, not wanting to look at him.
Lloyd tried thinking of something he could do or say to make her forgive him. After thinking for a bit, he got an idea and began singing a song, but it sounded so bad that Nalia couldn't help but cringe and then let out a laugh.
"By the old man, that sounds just as bad as the ninjas," said Nalia, laughing.
Lloyd scowled at that. "Hey, I couldn't sound that bad like the ninjas."
"You're right." A smirk grew on Nalia's face as she looked over at him. "It sounded way worse."
"Well, not everyone can have an amazing and beautiful singing voice like yours," said Lloyd.
Nalia started blushing, and once again, she was getting that warm and bubbly feeling in her chest as her heart began beating a little faster for some reason. "...You think so?" Though many people had told her the same thing many times, hearing it from Lloyd felt different somehow.
Now Lloyd was the one who started blushing. ".....Yes."
It grew awkwardly silence between them until Lloyd spoke up.
"We should try and find a way to get out," said Lloyd.
"Yeah, sounds like a plan," said Nalia, and began biting the ropes that were keeping her tied up.
Lloyd looked around for his way to get free until he saw a light bulb.
"Okay, you can do this, Lloyd." He breaks the bulb with his Lightning. "Haha, yes!"
"Nice going, Lloyd," said Nalia, smiling, and she soon got herself free.
Lloyd falls over and uses the shards to cut the ropes. "Haha, finally! I'm free!" The students come back. "Aww, no way! I escaped fair and square."
"Well, this is annoying." said Nalia, standing beside Lloyd.
"Heh, your friends are pure evil," said Gene.
"What?" Lloyd and Nalia had a confused look that matched each other.
"Okay, that's creepy," Gene whispered to the others.
"That's impossible; the ninjas would never turn evil." said Nalia.
"Yeah, there's no way they would start going all evil," said Lloyd.
"If you don't believe me, check it out yourselves," said Gene.
"Okay, we will," said Lloyd, taking Nalia's hand, and began leading the way to where they heard the sound of fighting.
Nalia stayed close to Lloyd, hoping the others were alright against whoever they were fighting.
Turning the corner, they saw the ninjas fighting against the evil versions of themselves.
"See, I told you our friends wouldn't turn evil. The evil ninjas must be my father's doing," said Lloyd.
"Fascinating. It's like fighting a mirror, where the reflection countermoves in perfect sync, and no one appears to be able to land a blow," said Gene.
"What?" Nalia got very confused about what he had just said.
"We have to help them," said Lloyd.
"Just to be clear, which "them?" Gene asked.
"Uh, our friends, of course. Uh, I mean, uh, the evil ninja. Mwahahahaha!" said Lloyd, and tried playing it off with an evil laugh.
Lloyd and Nalia get tied up again.
"I'm starting to think you're cursed with getting captured, Lloyd. Because I do not like this one bit," said Nalia.
"Ugh. Ugh. I am Lloyd Garmadon, the evil son of the super-evil Lord Garmadon, and I demand you release me! Mwahahahaha!" said Lloyd, letting out another evil laugh.
"Eh, here's my theory on how to help the evil ninjas destroy the good ninjas." Gene writes fast on a chalkboard. "Look what happens when positive energy connects with negative energy. So, if an evil ninjas manages to connect a single blow against his opposite, that same spark should be so powerful as to eradicate the good ninjas." He finishes writing. "Trust me. I'm, like, an evil genius."
"Okay, good enough for me." said Brad.
"Ugh, alright you win. I'm good. But guess what? So is Brad." said Lloyd.
Brad gulps. "That's a lie!"
Nalia raised an eyebrow at that and looked between him and Lloyd.
"Is it? Then explain why on the day we first met you were nice to me. When I arrived here on my first day, I didn't know how things worked around here and everyone made fun of me. Brad even put fire ants in my bed." said Lloyd.
"Hehehe. Yeah, I remember that. That was evil." said Gene.
"But when everyone was gone, he said he was just trying to teach me how things go. And after that, he took me under his wing, and he taught me the art of revenge." said Lloyd.
"Why would you do that?" Gene asked.
"I wanted to get in good with his father." said Brad.
"No. It's because deep down, he's not all evil. And Brad's not the only one. Face it, all of you have a secret good side that stays quiet out of fear, because it thinks it's alone. But it's not. And I'm living proof. So, who's with me?" said Lloyd.
Nalia watched in amazement at Lloyd's speech and how he seemed to convince the others.
Brad sighs. "It's true. And I love planting flowers."
"You what!?" Gene looked at him in shock.
"Also, the ninjas saved my life. A kindness I plan to return." Brad unties Lloyd and Nalia.
"Aw, my dad is gonna be so mad." said Gene.
"Yeah, join the club. Now then, I have a plan. Who here can sew?" Lloyd asked, making Everyone gasp.
"Sew?" Brad asked.
Lloyd nodded. "We're gonna make ninja gi that matches the others, that way we can confuse the evil versions of our friends."
"Ooh, that's a smart idea," said Nalia smiling.
*The students make ninja gi and suit up.*
"Ninja, go!" shouted Lloyd, and leaded them out to the battle.
"Ugh, we're so evenly balanced... ugh... this fight could go on... forever." said Jay.
"We can't give up. Keep fighting!" said Kai.
"Ninja, go!" shouted the students running into the battle, each wearing a different colored gi.
"Hey, it really is Ninja Day!" said Cole.
"Oh, I see what they're doing! They're trying to confuse them!" said Kai.
"Yeah, but it's confusing me, too." said Jay.
"Keep your focus." Zane destroys his counterpart with Spinjitzu.
"It works just like Gene says. If you can land a punch, they'll be defeated!" said Lloyd.
"Huh, this might be a lot easier than we thought." said Nalia.
Bizarro Cole is knocked back and Cole punches him. "Aargh! Good riddance!"
"Don't think you can get rid of us that easily. By the way, did I mention that I kissed Nya?" said Bizazzo Jay.
"What?" Nalia looked on in confusion at what she just heard.
"What?! You did what?!" shouted Jay.
"Hahaha. Yeah." said Bizazzo Jay.
Jay jumps behind him and furiously kicks him. "Heh. Nobody kisses my girl!"
"Ugh. Stay back!" Bizazzo Kai gets smoke bombed in the eye. "Aw, my eyes! I can't see!" Kai punches him.
"Ain't so bad." said Kai.
The students cheered.
"It worked, Lloyd! You did it!" said Brad.
"No, we did it." said Lloyd, before looking over at Nalia who had a confused, but also thoughtful look on her.
"Kissed? My girl? Jay reaction? What's going on? What does all of that mean? Aren't they just very close friends? And Nya is a person, not an object, so why would he say, my girl?" Nalia had a lot of confusion thoughts running through her head.
The students cheer again as the teachers come out of the wall.
"Normally, we'd punish you for holding us captive, but I guess now that we've all learned a valuable lesson, I suppose it's cause for a celebration." said Noble.
"Uh, that wouldn't mean cake, now, would it?" Cole asked.
*Everyone laughs. After the celebration, the ninjas are headed to the Dojo with Cole flying the Ultra Dragon and everyone else in the Raider.*
"Oh, man. So great the have the tank back." said Jay.
"You said it, mmm." said Cole with mouth stuffed with cake.
"Can't wait to hear what Sensei says when he hears about this." said Kai.
Garmadon on screen. "So, it is true. You have destroyed my evil ninjas."
"Keep it coming, Garmadon. Your attempts to stop us are only making us stronger." said Kai.
Garmadon sighs. "But tomorrow is a new day, ninjas. Mark my words, I will find new ways to finish you, once and for al—" The screen malfunctions.
"What? I can't hear you." said Kai.
"Nya will be displeased. She just repaired it and it appears it already has to go back to the shop." said Zane.
"Nah, it's not broken." Electricity surges down Lloyd's arms and he switches the screen to a video game.
"You did that? But it didn't blow up." said Jay.
Lloyd grabs a game controller. "Hey, you go to school, and sometimes you might pick up a thing or two."
Nalia went to sit next to Lloyd and rested her head on his shoulder, not noticing his face growing red as she slowly began falling asleep to him playing.
The ninjas laugh as Lloyd plays his game with Nalia's head on his shoulder while asleep.
