"So, may I meet the Lord?"
Azazel's gaze had become incomparably serious as he stared directly into Metatron's eyes.
Clearly, Azazel was being completely sincere now.
Of the original Three Factions of the Bible, Heaven had been the strongest, while the fallen angels and devils had both been weaker.
However, following the death of the God of the Bible and the rise of the Super Devils among the devils, everything had changed. The devils had now become the strongest of the Three Factions.
No matter how unwilling they were, they had no choice but to acknowledge that fact.
Of course, Azazel was not particularly dissatisfied. No matter what happened, the weakest faction, the fallen angels, could never become the leader of the Three Factions, so none of it had anything to do with him.
Regardless of which faction took the lead, Azazel only needed to focus on researching Sacred Gears.
But now, an enormous upheaval had occurred!
Azazel could not determine the true strength of the angel before him named Metatron, but since she had crushed him so effortlessly, she had to be a Super Devil-level existence among angels, didn't she?
That was Azazel's provisional conclusion...
At the very least, neither Michael nor Gabriel could defeat him with such ease. Even many chief gods of other pantheons could not accomplish such a feat.
And so, a small scheme began to form in Azazel's mind...
It did not matter who served as leader. What mattered was whether they could intimidate the other pantheons and factions.
And who in this world had not heard of the God of the Bible?
Although the upper echelons of the Three Factions all knew that God had died, the news had never spread beyond them. The other pantheons outside remained unaware...
Azazel believed that if they took advantage of this, the Biblical faction could return to its former peak!
Of course, Heaven would be the primary beneficiary of that resurgence. The fallen angels and devils would merely profit incidentally...
Even so, it would still be better than constantly worrying about one threat after another...
That was why Azazel wanted to meet the God of the Bible. He might have to pay a price and could even end up opposing the devils, but those were all minor matters!
As long as I defect quickly enough, why would the God of the Bible kill me?
Although Azazel had concealed his intentions as best he could, how could Metatron possibly fail to notice them?
Elise's greatest strength lay in her perception, and Metatron had inherited that aspect of her. She understood every subtle change in Azazel's demeanor.
And so, the corners of Metatron's lips curled upward as she revealed a flawless smile to Azazel!
In the eyes of the Church's followers, an angel's smile was naturally sacred and perfect. Witnessing an angel's smiling face was also the dream of countless members of the Church!
Yet now, such a beautiful sight had been witnessed by Azazel, a fallen angel... The Governor-General of the fallen angels would likely become even more despised within the Church because of it.
But was seeing an angel's smile truly a good thing?
The people of the Church might have thought so, but Azazel certainly did not!
That smile...
Azazel narrowed his eyes, seemingly sensing that something was amiss. However, he was already a prisoner. Surely his situation could not become any worse than it already was?
Azazel had seen the same smile on the faces of many devils before. Even among the fallen angels, there were quite a few who smiled like that, including a certain female fallen angel who had taken a liking to him...
But under the present circumstances, it clearly meant trouble!
To ensure that he could successfully meet the God of the Bible, Azazel resolved himself and met Metatron's gaze without hesitation!
Yet at that very instant, Azazel sensed a subtle change. Something was attempting to invade his mind, which surprised him greatly.
It was not because he had never encountered this kind of power before, but because he had seen it far too many times!
There was no doubt about it. Azazel was absolutely certain that the power Metatron was using was charm!
His jaw nearly dropped in shock!
What were angels?
They were synonymous with holiness and beauty!
Only creatures like succubi were supposed to have anything to do with charm!
But now, Azazel had no choice but to admit that the God of the Bible knew how to have far more fun than he had imagined!
Even newly created angels were being equipped with charm abilities?
Did that mean every angel created in the future would possess a body capable of shaking the world?
Just what had the God of the Bible experienced to make Him grant Metatron the power of charm...? Perhaps He possessed even more astonishing abilities?
As expected, compared with the omnipotent Lord, Azazel was nothing more than a little crow!
Azazel had originally chosen to fall from Heaven because he wanted to engage in certain intimate exchanges with women...
But now that angels, under God's guidance, had already stepped into an entirely new domain, could Azazel perhaps return to Heaven?
Of course, he could only entertain the thought. The final decision still depended on the Lord's will...
With such feelings in his heart, Azazel willingly allowed himself to be charmed by Metatron. If she learned of his thoughts, she would surely report them to the Lord, wouldn't she?
After everything that had happened, Azazel had already admitted that he intended to submit. Now it all depended on Metatron. If everything went smoothly...
Azazel's thoughts ended there for one simple reason. Metatron's charm had successfully taken effect.
The light vanished completely from his eyes. Azazel stared at Metatron with a vacant gaze, awaiting her commands.
"Then tell me everything you are thinking, Governor-General of the fallen angels."
"Whether you live or die will depend on your choice!"
...
The Seventh Heaven.
"I'm so bored!"
Elise had already been trapped here for a long time, unable to leave.
The power of faith within Heaven was far denser than it was outside, reducing the time required for her transformation. Even so, the process remained difficult to endure.
Had Elise needed to eat or use the bathroom, this place would probably have been buried beneath piles of garbage by now.
"Isn't there anything interesting around here?"
Elise opened her connection with Est, only to receive the message that everything was fine. Heaven had not encountered any unexpected incidents and was instead exceptionally peaceful.
A peaceful environment was certainly pleasant, but people's willpower could easily be eroded during such times.
It would become a complete joke if the enemy attacked after everyone had grown comfortable and complacent.
Although Elise's fusion was still progressing slowly, at its current rate, she would need no more than a month to complete her fusion with the crystallized faith.
"When that time comes, holy light shall shine across the entire world!"
