"Go before the Lord and confess your sins!"
Before the words had even fully faded, sacred radiance completely enveloped Luhart. In the final moments of the fallen angel's life, what he saw was an incomparably beautiful expanse of pure white.
In an instant, holy light spread outward from the angel at an unimaginable speed. Even the barrier the fallen angel had erected earlier began to crack beneath that power.
Boom—!
As expected, the barrier shattered, revealing the scene inside to everyone outside.
For a moment, everyone held their breath. Their eyes widened as they stared at the pure-white figure in the distance.
An angel!
An angel had actually appeared here?
Wait!
The priest leading the group seemed to realize something, and his expression suddenly became excited.
"There can be no mistake. It's Asia!"
He excitedly clenched his fist and pumped it twice through the air.
Asia had previously told him that an angel had guided her to Heaven in her dreams!
At the time, the priest had already known that Asia had drawn the attention of the angels and would undoubtedly have a bright future!
"But... I never expected Asia to receive so much attention from an angel."
Would that not mean she...
"No matter what, since an angel is here, we will definitely be able to return safely!"
Perhaps because the angel's appearance had sent him into a state of excitement, the priest failed to notice the problem with her body.
But just because he failed to notice did not mean another powerful existence had overlooked it.
Azazel had never expected such an existence to appear before him...
"Those are..."
Thirty-six wings?
Even Azazel, Governor-General of the fallen angels and a former twelve-winged Seraph, had never seen an angel with so many wings!
Michael, Gabriel, and the others only possessed twelve wings!
That was not all. The instant Azazel saw this angel, his gaze was unconsciously drawn toward a particular part of her body...
"Hey, hey... Aren't those a little too big?"
In that case... those rumors were probably true, weren't they?
Azazel had once been one of Heaven's highest-ranking members. Naturally, he knew far more about Heaven than ordinary people did.
Among angels, strength and status were determined by the number of wings they possessed. The same principle more or less applied to fallen angels.
In other words, the more wings one possessed, the stronger one was.
Even so, the maximum number of wings had always been twelve!
Heaven's Seraphs, along with Azazel himself, comprised every known twelve-winged existence.
Yet an angel Azazel had never seen before had now appeared...
Had she merely been an ordinary low-ranking angel, it would not have mattered. Azazel had never been interested in memorizing the names and appearances of every angel.
But could someone that enormous possibly be ordinary? She was a thirty-six-winged angel!
She truly was a newly created existence!
Merely looking at her made Azazel's eyelids twitch. She was not someone his current self could possibly defeat.
A certain term appeared in Azazel's mind...
Without question, she was a Super Devil!
God really had been resurrected, had He not?
Otherwise, given Heaven's previous decline, it would have been impossible for a new angel to appear, much less a thirty-six-winged Super Devil like this!
"This is truly terrible news..."
But what was even worse was figuring out how to get the fallen angels below away from this monster.
Right, where was that bastard?
Azazel's eyes shifted slightly as he glanced to either side.
Sure enough, he could not see the man's figure...
That makes sense. Even I would be in danger of dying within power that overwhelming. A mere four-winged fallen angel struck directly by that beam probably wouldn't even leave a corpse behind.
Azazel instantly understood the situation and lowered his gaze toward the three two-winged fallen angels below...
He did not say anything, but the meaning in his eyes was clear to all three fallen angels...
Get out of here!
Fallen angels were already few in number, making them the smallest of the three biblical factions. Losing three of them at once would be quite the waste.
The three fallen angels immediately understood Azazel's signal. They began flapping their wings, preparing to flee from this dangerous place.
However...
"Since you've already come, why leave so soon?"
A woman's voice suddenly sounded beside Azazel's ear, instantly covering him in cold sweat.
At some unknown point, the angel had already appeared directly in front of him...
How could she be so fast?
Sensing danger, Azazel immediately shouted, "Run!"
After a flash of light, Azazel's entire body, aside from the twelve wings on his back, was covered in a suit of armor.
This was one of Azazel's completed Artificial Sacred Gears. Although it still fell short of a true Sacred Gear, as a piece of equipment, it could at least assist him in battle.
The instant his shout fell, Azazel attacked the figure before him without hesitation. However...
The moment his attack landed, Azazel keenly sensed a faint spatial fluctuation...
Whoosh!
Before Azazel could react, she vanished.
"Don't tell me...?"
Realizing something was wrong, Azazel immediately lowered his head to search for the two-winged fallen angels. Unfortunately, their presences had completely vanished from his perception.
"Isn't this... far too powerful?"
Left with no other choice, Azazel abandoned everything else and attempted to fly away at full speed.
But how could an angel possibly allow these fallen beings to escape?
Whoosh—!
Pure-white energy followed close behind. Before Azazel could react, it struck him from above.
"Aaaaaah!"
Under the impact of that terrifying energy, Azazel was spiked into the ground like a volleyball.
The Church members nearby cried out in delight. As expected of an angel, she had defeated a fallen angel with such ease!
No, that was not all.
When the angel appeared again, three white spheres of light had suddenly appeared in her hand. A human face could be seen within each sphere.
Barring any surprises, they were the three two-winged fallen angels who had attempted to escape. Who would have expected her to capture them alive?
She had also brought Asia, Xenovia, and Irina out with her. Judging by the bewildered expressions on their faces, they probably had no idea what had happened either.
"Cough, cough! Who exactly are you?"
Inside the crater on the ground, Azazel coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, his expression ugly.
Although he had anticipated that his opponent might be a Super Devil, had she not surpassed that threshold by far too much?
"Me?"
"My name is Metatron. I am merely a weak little angel."
Metatron? Azazel had never heard that name before, but he still gave a bitter laugh.
"If even you count as weak, then there are no powerful beings left in this world, are there?"
Metatron was not weak at all, and she certainly was not little!
