Chapter 205 - Chapter 205

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 205

Once Foster was gone, the family went inside. Arabella and Iñigo quickly chose the two biggest boxes to open and clapped their hands when they saw two brand-new bicycles.

"...These bicycles are way too big for you to ride right now. We'll have to wait a few years," Maya muttered.

The twins kept opening the gifts one by one and were thrilled with everything they received. However, Maya developed an instant headache as she looked at the growing mountain of trash accumulating in the living room. Gift wrappers were scattered everywhere, and she knew she would have to clean them up later.

"...Babe, how about we talk about our finances while the twins are busy playing by themselves?" To cure her accumulating stress, she asked Karlos to spend some alone time with her.

"No problem." Karlos agreed immediately.

The couple was about to leave the living room when another sharp honk caught their attention.

"Is there another car outside?" Maya frowned.

"Let me check."

Karlos opened the door and found another delivery truck parked in front of their house.

"Excuse me, is this the Alejandro residence? I'm here for Karlos Alejandro and his family. We have several packages for you."

"That's us. This must be from Roman." Karlos guessed correctly.

The porters unloaded box after box, and the twins cheered when they saw even more presents waiting to be opened... As for Maya, she let out a long sigh while massaging her temples. She definitely needed that "financial meeting" with Karlos right now just to give her brain a break.

The truck eventually left, and the living room was once again packed with gifts. Fortunately, Karlos and Maya successfully carved out some quiet time to discuss their finances.

Karlos took on the responsibility of cleaning up the mess the children had made. He also fed the two new puppies, which were currently settled in the kubo. It was a spacious place for them to grow up in, truth be told.

When Karlos returned to the house, he found Maya teaching the twins how to count. The children were busy tallying up their festive earnings.

"Wan, two, thwee, fouw, five, six, seven, eyt, nine, ten." Iñigo successfully counted to 10 pesos, though he looked a bit confused about what came next.

"Aww, my baby knows how to count. Here, let me help you." Maya lovingly patted his head, feeling immensely proud. After spending quality time with Karlos discussing their finances, her mood was completely restored.

"After ten comes eleven and twelve."

"Eweven and tweve." He still struggled a bit with his R and L sounds.

"Count them again."

"Hm!" Iñigo nodded eagerly.

Maya then checked on her daughter, who was struggling to count past five.

"Fouw, two, wan, thwee." She was just mimicking her brother, but her sequence was completely mixed up.

"Sweetie, follow after me. One, two, three, four, five."

Arabella repeated the numbers and tried counting the coins scattered across the coffee table... Her little brain quickly grew tired because there were simply too many coins to track. Deciding it was too much work, she asked her mother to help her count instead.

"Mama, yours!"

"You're giving me your money?" Maya asked in surprise. Unlike many mothers in their country who automatically confiscated their children's money, Maya wanted her kids to learn the value of saving from an early age.

As for the danger of swallowing coins, the twins were already old enough to understand that money wasn't food.

"No, it's mine. Later, give me coins," Arabella shook her head, trying to form the right words.

"Ah, so you want me to save your money for you?"

"Yes."

"Alright. Let's count them together first."

A few minutes later, it turned out both kids had earned a total of 127 pesos. The twins didn't fully grasp how much that amount was worth, but they were convinced they could buy out a whole store with it.

"Mama, I want wemote contwol car!" Iñigo announced, wanting to spend his earnings on a new toy.

"But you already have a remote-control car."

"I want a bigger one!"

"With your 127 pesos? Probably not enough. A big one costs at least 700 pesos," Maya explained gently.

"Not enough?"

"Yes, not enough... But we can buy new clothes instead. How does that sound?"

"Awright." Iñigo sighed, realizing that earning money wasn't easy and that he still couldn't afford everything he wanted.

"That settles it. We'll go buy some new clothes for you guys tomorrow. You're growing up so fast, and a lot of your old clothes don't fit you anymore." She kissed her twins and collected their money... So, in the end, Maya still "confiscated" their savings.

Maya turned her attention back to Karlos.

"Are the puppies doing okay in the kubo?"

"They're doing great, and they finished all the food I gave them. That space is plenty wide for them to run around."

"That's good. So, what should we name them? Do you have any ideas?"

"I was thinking of Mister Doom of Singularity and Warlord of Chaos."

"...I suddenly remembered that you almost named our children those horrible names."

Back when Maya was still pregnant with the twins, the couple had brainstormed baby names, and Karlos had floated suggestions like King Cataclysm and Queen of the Universe. Maya had immediately vetoed the ideas, and they thankfully settled on Arabella and Iñigo instead.

"You know I'm just joking, right? Although I still feel like The Bark Knight and Chicken Nugget Executioner has a nice ring to it." Karlos shrugged.

"They're terrible," she glared at Karlos before turning to the kids to ask for their input instead.

"Kids, what should we name the puppies?"

"Blackey!"

"Whitey!"

"..." Maya hadn't expected much from the twins. They based the dogs' names entirely on their fur color. It was the most common naming reasons in the country, some people even named their dogs Browney, Spottie, or Emergency Food Supply.

"Alright, let's call them Blackey and Whitey." She decided to let the children win this round. At least those names were a thousand times better than Karlos's suggestions.
