"No... we will not destroy their main camp. Our objective here is to hold the lines for now, there is no need to push for victory.
Kumo, Iwa and Kiri have been at each others throats for quite a while. We need to check for their reaction before we can complete devote ourselves to suppress Suna.
Our massive forces here would have to be divided to supply other battlefields if the other villages attack us.
Suna actually doesn't warrant five thousand shinobi, but we are here to give others the impression that a full blown war has started." I said exasperatedly as Jiraiya suggested we just launch a attack at Suna main camp and stop them from creating a proper command center.
Currently, we were discussing about the plans for this war, in the command center, which was, basically, a tent somewhat larger than the others inside the camp.
Now, don't blame me, but once we really came to this godforsaken borderland, I came to a realization.
War is actually not as fun as you might think... not even when you are overpowered.
You see, the actual fighting part... it was, very rare. So, most of the time, you were just sitting bored in a tent in the middle of the nowhere, with no entertainment sources, and and a constant feeling of tension in the air about where the next attack might be.
Now, I had it somewhat better, considering that I also had Tsunade with me, but you can't really use sex as entertainment all the time.
So, I found my old friend to help me in this regard. Orochimaru.
When we were children, I was worried about Orochimaru joining the dark side, and me getting entwined in his evil schemes.
Now, as I am pushing him towards human experimentation in the name of science... The irony is rather stifling.
But, on the bright side, I need to master cloning technology, and he would eventually need cloning technology too, there are no losses at all.
Of course, I have not shared with Orochimaru any of the Otsutsuki data. An Otsutsuki Orochimaru is too scary to think about, this universe would be done for once Orochimaru gets his hand on those Otsutsuki genes.
Anyways, back to the meeting. Shikami, the current head of the Nara clan, was the first to understand my plan, even without me explaining anything to them at all...
As expected of a Nara, I guess.
"I see, so we are aiming for that. Indeed holding Suna for long enough and engaging in a battle of attrition would be the best choice for us, minimalizing losses and getting the best results." Shikami said seriously, the Yamanaka and Akimichi clan heads looked at their friend, and nodded.
I was about fifty percent certain that they didn't understand shit, and Shikami would probably have to dictate the plan in it's entirety to them later.
But, that is not my concern, is it?
Now, since Shikami is the smart man he is, I can bestow upon him some duties without any worries.
"Yes, so, as I said, the goal is not victory, but stalling. Therefore, we will not be using our full forces currently." I said, affirming his words, and started to give the command positions.
"Shikami-san, from this moment, you are to act as my assistant, and oversee the situation of every outpost, unless there is a large scale attack, I grant you the authority of managing it." Well... 'granting you the authority' my ass, with this, I dumped all the work on him.
My job would be to simply crush Suna pathetically later, and probably kill Second Kazekage and capture One-tail. Enough for me to gain fame enough to secure the Kage position.
"Understood, Inaba-sama. I will ensure that there are minimal losses." Shikami nodded, but the twitch of his eyes were enough to affirm that he understood that I was simply dumping my work onto him.
But of course, I ignored him, because even after I become the Hokage, I would be using the Nara as my work mules.
"Sakumo-san. You are now the head of a special division, the Kunai division, your task is to coordinate with Shikami-san, and unleash harassing attacks upon the Suna shinobi, take minimal losses, and annoy them as much as you can.
If they set up a camp and increase it's defenses, attack every remote outpost, then once they support it, contact the ninjutsu squad, or launch explosive tags on them from a distance." I said with a smirk, basically all sakumo had to do... was be a nuisance to Suna.
"Understood. It will be done, Inaba-sama." Sakumo smiled.
"Tsunade, establish the medical camp, and ensure it's proper functionality. You are to select field leaders, and provide every outpost with proper medical coverage, but make sure to not put medical ninjas in positions of higher risk.
Keep your position free, and assign a deputy to be in charge if you can." I ordered Tsunade.
"Hmm, finding a deputy would be a bit difficult, but alright, the rest can be managed." She nodded.
"Yamanaka-san, you are in charge of the information department, work with Nara-san ensure that there are little to no gap in information processing." Information was best left to the Yamanaka, they were the best in the world for that, after all.
"Understood, Inaba-sama." Yamanaka seemed to already know that he would be given this task, so he just nodded.
"Jiraiya, you are to command all the spies and work with Yamanaka-san." Frankly, I did not know where to put him.
"Alright, better than rotting here in the camp." Jiraiya yawned.
"Akimichi-san, The logistics are in your hands." I hope he doesn't eat the entire rations.
"Rest assured, Inaba-sama, Suna will not be able to harm our supplies." Akimichi said jovially. I nodded at his words, now, done with the task allocations, came the final task.
"Now, this will be our main camp, which is, to be honest a big target. But that does not mean that we will need to change the command center frequently.
Myself, Orochimaru and Tsunade are to stay at the main camp at all times unless we launch a major attack, moreover, a research center is to be established in the main camp, we three would also work here to decode all Suna poisons, and to copy as much of their techniques as possible.
If you find any impressive bloodline ninja, try to capture them and send them to the main camp, if they are killed, then send the corpses." I ordered.
"Understood." Came the replies.
"That would be all. Now, I need you all to understand one thing." I said my face turning solemn.
"Under my estimation, by the end of this week. The Shinobi world will be covered by a war of the likes of the shinobi world war.
No... it would be more appropriate to call this war,
The second shinobi world war." I said with a pause.
"And in a war of this scale, there are often no victors. Therefore, we, shinobi of Konoha, need to ensure that by the time this war ends, we are the least damaged village, and that's enough.
Everyone, go and prepare. I need the entire operation functional by the time sun falls." With one final command, I stood up, and left the command tent, with Tsunade following behind me.
