Daniel explained to Lucas, "Evelyn's work in the military is highly confidential. Most of the details are restricted, and almost no one has access to what she was actually handling. Even the people within the department seem unaware of her exact assignments."
Lucas remained silent for a moment, but his face had already hardened.
This was not the answer he had hoped for.
Daniel continued, "I tried to dig deeper, but every lead stops at the same point. There are no clear records, no accessible reports, and no one willing to speak about it."
Lucas clenched his jaw slightly as frustration began to build inside him.
He had never faced such continuous obstacles while investigating a single matter. Every time he moved forward, he was met with another dead end.
Lucas walked a few steps forward, trying to steady his thoughts. He stopped and said to Daniel, "Be careful."
His tone carried a warning now.
