Description: Gardevoir's power greatly increases in its Mega Evolution form.
Previously, Gardevoir's level ranged between 93 and 96. Now, with Mega Evolution, she had reached level 99. Mega Evolution also seemed to slightly boost a Pokémon's energy levels.
Moreover, in this state, Lin Feng could clearly feel his own stamina, vitality, and mental energy slowly being consumed. However, this level of strain was almost negligible for him. It could be assumed that during battle, the consumption would be greater, but this minor drain should pose no serious problem.
Gardevoir herself quickly became aware of the change in her own state. Maintaining her Mega Evolution form required energy, yet she could feel her strength growing.
"Do you see? Mega Evolution really exists."
Lin Feng calmed himself and turned to Mewtwo, who was staring at him in shock.
"Can that stone let me Mega Evolve?" Mewtwo asked, looking puzzled.
Lin Feng nodded. "Theoretically, yes, but the problem is I don't have the theory you could say I don't have your theory."
Gardevoir floated gracefully beside him, her eyes on the glowing Mega Stone in his hand.
Lin Feng looked at her and said, "How about I make a protective glove for you so you can wear the stone on your hand?"
"Gardevoir~" (Okay.)
Gardevoir nodded. This state, in which she could sense Lin Feng's thoughts without psychic communication, felt incredibly new to her.
"No stone?"
Mewtwo widened his eyes at Lin Feng. "Then where is it?"
Lin Feng's excitement surged. He had called this process the "evolution beyond evolution." The leap in power it promised was enormous. If he could learn it himself, perhaps he could one day challenge the Reverse World's God again.
In other words, even without having fought the Reverse World's God, he was a Pokémon who pursued strength. Witnessing such a breakthrough naturally stirred temptation.
Lin Feng shook his head. He guessed that perhaps once Mewtwo's affection reached 100, the system would provide the necessary values. But he could not directly say, "Mewtwo, you must trust me unconditionally and rely on me for me to produce this stone."
Seeing Mewtwo's dejected expression, Lin Feng added, "However, as far as I know, you can perform Mega Evolution on your own."
"On my own?" Mewtwo asked quickly, leaning in. "How can I do it on my own?"
"By surpassing your limits," Lin Feng answered truthfully.
"Surpass my limits?" Mewtwo's expression froze.
Lin Feng paused, deciding it was better to explain fully.
"Fly into the sky, dive into the ocean, train, challenge there is almost nothing that can truly be a limit for you. Perhaps it is breaking through the atmosphere, perhaps it is plunging into the deep sea to withstand pressure, or perhaps it is challenging an undefeatable enemy…"
"Fly into the sky, dive into the ocean, train, challenge…"
Mewtwo muttered these words to himself repeatedly. Once the arrow is released, there is no turning back.
From the moment Lin Feng suggested challenging Giratina, he had already anticipated this step.
For Mewtwo, pride filled his heart. He wanted to become the strongest Pokémon alongside the strongest Trainer in the game. Facing an undefeatable enemy would give him infinite motivation.
Lin Feng merely acted as a catalyst. Rather than letting him idle in the nursery all day, it was better to let him do what he enjoyed or more precisely, to follow his heart.
Still, Lin Feng could not help but remind him, "But the premise is to stay safe."
"Understood," Mewtwo replied, clenching his fists. His heart surged with excitement, as if a clear, vast path lay before him, ready to be taken at any moment.
He looked up at the sky.
After several days of light rain, the sky was covered with strangely shaped clouds, dim and murky.
In the next instant, he waved his hand, and the clouds above the town began to dissipate, revealing sunlight faint, yet clear.
Then Mewtwo looked at Lin Feng. "I want to try."
"Go ahead," Lin Feng said, beckoning.
Mewtwo nodded. His body was enveloped in psychic energy and streaked like a meteor, shooting into the sky. Only Lin Feng and Gardevoir remained, watching…
Mewtwo's first attempt at pushing his limits naturally did not succeed. Lin Feng had anticipated that the first attempt would be extreme, which is why he waited in the sky.
With Aura sensing, Lin Feng and Gardevoir caught him safely, avoiding major injury. Only minor burns and frostbite marks remained.
Once healed, Mewtwo began to reflect. He had nearly broken through the atmosphere and seen countless stars and the blue planet below. It was the first time he had viewed the world like this.
He also saw a dark dragon perched on a small asteroid. It had seen him. The massive black eyes, glowing red, radiated an intimidation rivaling that of the Reverse World's God he had seen before.
This must be another Legendary Pokémon. Mewtwo thought so as well.
Lin Feng had once told him that there were many enemies he could not defeat. Seeing this dragon, Mewtwo silently recognized it as one of them. He wanted to challenge it.
However, high in the sky, staring at the stars, his psychic energy was rapidly depleting. In this state, he could not challenge it, not even rise higher.
Mewtwo sensed that if he continued upward, he could break through the atmosphere but he might not return.
At first, he did not want to retreat. But eventually, he thought of Lin Feng, Meow, and the phrase "stay safe." His resolve wavered, and he descended.
Fortunately, the dragon did not attack, merely observing him quietly before flying away.
December 3rd
Mewtwo chose another method: the ocean.
The sea was vast and deep. He plunged in, abandoning psychic protection. The water shifted from blue to black, and silence surrounded him, broken only occasionally by deep-sea Pokémon.
He noticed that the deeper the Pokémon swam, the stronger their power became.
So he continued deeper into the ocean. Gradually, the pressure of the deep sea began to affect him but it was hardly a challenge.
He pressed further into the depths.
Finally, in a trench, he saw a pair of eyes glowing red…
