Alannah ends up joining Noel and Hazel on the roof for lunch the next few days, seemingly grateful for an escape from the frenzied interest that follows her through the halls.
Once she relaxes a bit, Noel finds her to be a pretty pleasant young woman. Despite her nerves, she's easy to get along with and hasn't let her status as unofficial Paradigm royalty go to her head at all. Hazel likes her too, and the two quickly bond over both being in the A-suite, where there always seems to be some sort of drama brewing.
"He seems to have given up on the Bs too," Hazel says, catching Noel up on the continuing saga of his brother's odd behavior. "I bet he won't even try the Cs. If he is looking for someone who guided him before, the gap between him and a C would be too big."
"He still hasn't said what he's looking for?" Noel prods, picking unenthusiastically at his sandwich.
