Jade departs the next morning, carrying nothing but a duffel bag and insisting he'll be back in a few days. Noel smiles him off at the door, accepting a passionate goodbye kiss, and tries not to wonder too hard about what Jade is keeping from him or why he can't bring himself to ask.
He has plenty to distract him, though. Work is chaotic that morning, everyone buzzing about the new guide joining the A-suite.
"I guess it's not even really a nepotism hire," Tess considers, peeking over Noel's shoulder at the computer screen, where many social media posts about the situation are scrolling past. "It's not like she faked being A-class. She just also happens to be the president's granddaughter."
Noel clicks through a few different posts, checking timestamps. "I haven't seen people this excited over a new hire…ever. Especially a guide."
