And so, the two of them slept comfortably, filled with sweet dreams, and the next day arrived quickly. It always seems like time flies when you're asleep.
The morning in this village was truly beautiful. Birds were chirping merrily in the branches, and the streets were almost empty — only a handful of travellers were out looking for breakfast.
No matter where you are, the air is always freshest early in the morning. With so few people moving about during the night, the air remained clean and free of dust.
"I feel amazing after last night's sleep. My whole body is relaxed and full of energy. Time to go out and buy supplies. Once I'm back, I'll wake Harumiko up, and this afternoon we'll finally set off for home," Hiroshi whispered happily as he got dressed.
Harumiko was still fast asleep, clearly exhausted from the day before. Normally, she would have woken up earlier than him.
"The morning air here is just as fresh as in Konoha. Makes sense — hardly anyone moves around at night either. But I still love Konoha the most; after all, it's my home," Hiroshi said with a smile, breathing in deeply through the window.
He wrote a short note saying he had gone shopping so she wouldn't worry, then quietly closed the door and stepped outside.
"Leaving a note means she won't be anxious when she wakes up. I can take my time buying what we need. When I get back, I'll wake her, we'll pack up, have lunch, and leave in the afternoon," Hiroshi murmured as he walked down the street.
He began looking for a large shop or market nearby. But it was still very early, and almost all the shops were closed. He passed several big stores, but none had opened yet — he had to find somewhere soon.
"The worst thing about this village is that people here really hate getting up early to open their shops. It's so frustrating! Where am I supposed to buy things?" Hiroshi said, glancing at the closed storefronts on both sides.
He didn't give up, though. Instead, he headed toward the busier part of town, determined to find one place open. He refused to believe he'd spend the whole morning searching in vain — that would be ridiculous.
After more than an hour of searching, he finally found a shop that was open, with a few customers already inside. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either — definitely big enough to stock plenty of food for their journey.
"That took forever! But I finally found a place. It looks well‑stocked, so I'm sure we'll find everything we need to eat along the way," Hiroshi said with relief, standing outside and looking in.
He stepped inside and realised it was even bigger than it looked from outside — and it had absolutely everything. Now he could buy not only food but also medicine and other essentials.
He spent the next hour browsing and buying supplies. He chose compressed rations containing both meat and vegetables, so they would have a balanced diet and proper meals during their travels.
