"You need to eat first and then drink your medicine, only after that can you take rest." Collin stood up when Margie stepped in holding a bowl of porridge for her.
However, before Collin could leave her there, she pulled his sleeve to make him stay.
"I want to know more," she said, the smell of the porridge wafted to her nose and she felt nauseated again, at the same time, her head was throbbing in pain. She didn't feel that she wanted to eat. She wanted to lie down and curl her body.
"The alpha will come to see you and he will explain everything to you," he replied. "I am not the right person to explain this kind of thing."
And with that, Collin left her alone with Margie to tend to her.
=======================
At this point, Meera was pretty sure that the alpha and the beta were lying to her. How could they keep saying that they would come to talk to her and explain this bizarre situation to Meera when in the end, even Collin didn't show up for a week, let alone the alpha.
Meera had been asking for Margie to tell her where the two of them and even attempted to go out of the room, but there were two guards, who stood right beside the door. They would stop her even before she stepped out of the room.
From what Meera heard from Margie, the pack was so busy nowadays because they needed to prepare for winter, since winter here was a little bit too harsh.
Days and nights came and went by, until it was already more than a month, since Meera came here.
Everything went uneventful and tedious and the wound on her neck started to heal. This morning, Meera looked at herself in the mirror and found the mark had formed a symbol. A symbol that could only be bear by a luna.
Surprisingly, Meera didn't hate it, but she hated the process when she got this mark.
And finally, after a long wait, this particular night, she finally saw Dalton. He entered her room when he thought she was sleeping.
Dalton did nothing, he just stood there next to her bed and then made a move to leave after a while, but Meera held his hand to stop him.
She held him so tight, because she was afraid he would leave again. That was not impossible for him to do so, since there a huge different in their strength.
"Dalton, we need to talk," Meera talked hastily, as she clumsily tried to push herself up from the bed with only one hand.
Dalton halted, his dull blue eyes indicating that he couldn't see her right now, which somehow, gave Meera a relief, because she didn't have any idea how to face him.
But, even so, Meera didn't know where to start to address this problem, since it was so wrong since the very beginning.
In the end, it was Dalton, who broke the silence between them. "There will be a ceremony for you in two weeks, prepare yourself."
And after saying that, Dalton swatted her hand, which made Meera's whole body tumbled to bed because of the strong force.
The alpha seemed didn't realize with his own strength that he used on her. Actually, it was not a surprise, since all he knew in his entire life was fight after fight.
He grew up with nothing but harsh punishment and beating.
However, Meera couldn't let this opportunity slip through her fingers. She scrambled on the bed and rushed toward Dalton. She managed to reach the door first and used her whole body to stop him from opening the door, so he could walk away from her.
"No, I told you that we need to talk." Meera hated confrontation, but she didn't want to be treated like this. "Akh!"
She screamed in pain when Dalton grabbed her upperarm in his attempt to shove her away.
But, he startled when he heard how she was screaming and let loose of his grip on her. His eyes turned dark, which meant his beast's eyes were staring at her, studying her facial expression, while Meera grimaced.
Meera wondered, whether he would strike her for preventing him from going outside. Should she step aside?
The thought that one slap from him could cause her so much pain made her trembled.
However, to her surprised, Dalton folded his arms in front of his chest, as if he was trying to get a rein on his own anger.
"Why do you bring me here?" Meera asked, the pain had subsided because of her healing ability, but the fear had gripped her heart.
In her pack, there was no one would hurt her or even holding her the way Dalton did, therefore, it scared her how easily this man was able to inflict such pain.
"I want to go home," Meera said, but when she saw the change of expression on Dalton's face, she hastily added. "Or, can you allow me to contact my family? They must be worried about me."
"No one worried about you." Dalton's voice sounded very cold and distant, he leaned over and put his hand on her shoulder, as he whispered to her ear, which made Meera shuddered involuntarily. "This is your home now, this is your pack and stop whining to go back to your previous pack, because that will never be going to happen."
With this proximity, Dalton could smell her intoxicating scent and he couldn't help, but kissed her neck.
==============================
A strong bond started to form between him and Meera because of the mark that he forced on her, but because of that as well, he got a backlash from it, since he had this strong desire to have her for himself.
Dalton avoided her like plague, but the more he tried not to see her, the stronger his desire for her.
This must be not the case for Meera, since she didn't put her mark on Dalton, it was incomplete, but it could be solved once they mated.
