During the battle, Ariel had noticed one of the portals the enemies had used to enter the clan. Rather than simply ignoring it, she had slipped through while the fighting was still raging around them.
The moment she emerged on the other side, she had found herself in the middle of an army.
There had been no time to investigate.
Ariel had reacted immediately, using the same spatial movement ability she had inherited from the chief to warp herself back to safety before the surrounding forces could notice her.
From her new position, however, she had remained hidden and watched the goblins and orcs as they spoke among themselves, gathering information while waiting for the right opportunity.
There, Ariel had learned about their plan.
The army wasn't simply gathered there without purpose. They had been preparing to enter the clan at a specific time, waiting for the right moment to launch their full attack.
