As the impacts of Obsidian's battle axe were noticeable, creating small craters with each impact:
Obsidian said, "Show me, young Liebe, the future you are fighting for."
As Liebe slashed through the obsidian axe, he said, "I only fight for my own dreams."
As another axe struck from above, Liebe said, "One down, yet still standing."
Obsidian said, "I can use more than 5 axes at once, and my magical brooches around me increase the impact of each axe based on the number of axes on the field."
Liebe said, "If that is the case, I have a way." As he thought, Damn it. No matter what I do, there is no end to them. I can beat him, sure. But how many are there? And on top of that, I can't find Gaia or Leto.
In the hospital, Mai said, "At least we were able to shut it off before Mrs. Alysa saw everything."
Liebe said, "Sorry, Professor. Dark Magic: Devil Spear!" As he held back the axes, then "Vesta Grand Blades!" As he shattered all five of them, and then amidst the clash, he punched Obsidian in the gut and said, "Sorry, Professor. Just stay out of this, please."
As Lichee and everyone was holding back the devils:
Isurugi said, "Make sure not to harm them. Move quickly but carefully."
Everyone said, "Understood."
As Liebe was now against Otiz and Mrs. Serena:
Liebe said, "I don't have time for this. Dark Magic: Devil Spear!" As he tried to move away.
Serena said, "There is no point, Liebe."
Otiz said, "Surrender, and we will make sure your interrogation is light."
Liebe said, "Like I would fall for that. We both know knights have no rule over punishment or interrogation."
Otiz said, "Oh, didn't fall for it?"
Liebe said, "It's basic. I have seen it first hand several times."
As he was flying, he hit his leg on a trip wire as it was rigged with explosives.
Liebe said, "Damn, a distraction." As he was bruised and on the ground, Liebe said, "Dark Magic: Dark Heal!" As he was healing his wounds.
Otiz said, "Not all battles are fair."
As Mavia came in and said, "Need some help, Captain?"
Liebe said, "Yeah, yeah. This shit is getting old."
As Liebe's communicator said, "There is trouble, Acting Captain."
Liebe said, "What is it?"
The voice said, "A devil broke through our line of defence. It appears to be a female devil. It's rampaging through town."
Mavia said, "That has to be Gaia."
Liebe said, "I know. I'm going."
Mavia said, "Leave them to me."
As Mia was battling Otiz and Serena, Liebe went to find the devil.
Meanwhile, in Lichita's home:
Licht said, "I have to do something. But what?"
Lichita said, "Hey, Licht."
Licht said, "Yes, Mother?"
Lichita said, "Is that devil girl really that important to you all?"
Licht said, "Yes, she is. She is a part of our team, and we care about her."
Lichita said, "In that case, you should get going. What the hell are you doing here?"
Licht said, "Mother, you know—"
Lichita said, "Liebe told me a while ago. Now go help your best friend."
Licht said, "Got it!" As he rushed out.
Lichita sighed and said, "That boy... when did he actually grow up? I actually thought he might get married before leaving this time."
Mia said, "Quite unfortunate indeed."
As Liebe found the female devil, it was really Gaia.
Liebe said, "Found her." As he said, "Dark Magic: Holy Demon's Descent!" As he crashed in front of Gaia. Gaia, being a monster, ran away.
Liebe said, "I'm not letting you go now!" As he chased after her, he said, "Summon Abyssal Gates—times two!" As with the two Abyssal Gates, he used Devil Spear to distract her and back her into an alley, yet it wasn't working.
Liebe said, "I hate to do this, but sorry, Gaia." As he said, "Dark Magic: Dark Chains!" As the chains kept her legs in place. The chains from the Abyssal Gate grabbed her hands. Liebe stopped and took a deep breath. He said, "Finally. Now, Dark Magic: Dark Cleanse!"
As Gaia was being cleansed, her flame magic broke the chains and she was running, now on a main street. As Liebe and Gaia were being shot at by magic attacks from all directions, now Greed and the lady assassin Aila were also in the fray. As Liebe was keeping up with Gaia, he was fighting Greed and dodging magic shots from the assassin.
Liebe said, "This is getting out of hand."
As ahead were Marku's and the Black Rose member, Liebe said, "The bad just keeps getting worse." As he had no choice. As Gaia ran past Markus, Liebe said, "Dark Magic: Dark Chains!" keeping Gaia in place. Now he and Markus were being shot at. He just kept going. The knight was killed off easily. Liebe had to carry Markus on his back as they were being shot at, yet Aila had no issues shooting Markus and hurting him.
Liebe said, "Hang on, kid. Don't let go."
Markus said, "I'm scared."
Despite Liebe's best attempts to dodge, Markus was still getting hit.
Greed said, "What's wrong, Faust? Can't win with 2 people to protect? Sorry—one pathetic child and one devil."
Liebe said, "Vesta Grand Strike!" As Liebe knew in this current situation, staying alive was the best case possible. Yet he isn't strong enough to hold off a Sin and an assassin while protecting Gaia and Markus at once.
Liebe said, "Damn it. What do I do? I have to do something. If I don't do something, this little ass will just die from blood loss. If I ran away, Gaia can be killed." As he said, "Dark Magic: Vesta Grand Strike!" directly on Greed, sending him back.
Greed said, "You little—"
Liebe said, "What do I do now?" Wait. Attribute: Metal Mercury. As he was holding them off, he was dropping small amounts of mercury into the ground.
Soon, Liebe said, "Mercury Bullet!" And from the ground, mercury bullets shot up, injuring Greed's right arm.
Greed said, "You bastard!"
Liebe said, "Shit. I missed the heart. Now—Light Magic: Holy Angel's Descent!"
As from above, someone crashed into the ground. It was Licht.
Licht said, "You holding in there, Captain?"
Liebe said, "Yeah."
Licht said, "Let me deal with these bastards."
Liebe said, "Go ahead." As he charged them head-on.
Liebe said, "Put Markus down." As he said, "Wait, kid, let me heal you. It will hurt. Dark Magic: Dark Heal!" As he extended his hand towards Markus, his dark chains came undone. As Gaia went to strike Markus, "Void Magic: Black Hole!" As the Orb of Dominance created a black hole, scaring Gaia off. It was Lilith.
As Liebe looked at Lilith, expecting pride and pride after saving Markus, but Lilith didn't see it the same. Seeing the injured Markus, Liebe's hand extended while using magic, no sign of Aile or Greed, and Gaia trying to kill Markus, Lilith thought of the worst case scenario.
Lilith said, "Liebe, how could you? How could you use the situation to try to assassinate Markus?" As she walked up to Liebe using her King's Roar, her malice was on a different level.
Lilith said, "You are my greatest mistake. I thought it was my fault, but seeing you now, you are the monster." As she slapped Liebe, she said, "You were never my child. You deserve to die. Now get lost. Never threaten my child ever again. You were never my child to begin with, and you are nothing but a disgrace to Tenebris and Father. Tenebris was mistaken when he placed his faith in you."
As Liebe flew away in tears, trying to hold back tears, Eldrie and others came as backup.
Lilith said, "Are you OK, son?" As she hugged Markus, saying, "I'm so sorry, son. I should have never left you alone. Where are you hurt?"
Markus cried and said, "Mommy, I was scared. So scared. Please don't leave me again."
Lilith said, "I won't."
Lilith said, "Lara, Eldrie, Alex, clear a path for me. I need to get Markus to the castle. He needs help."
Eldrie said, "But ma'am, what about Lord Liebe?"
Lara said, "He needs our help."
Lilith said, "Do it. And Lara, close Markus's wounds."
Alex said, "Lilith, you are letting your emotions cloud your judgement."
Lilith said, "Just shut up, Alex, please. I was so scared today. I thought... I thought..." As she broke down. "Please just do it. Please just let me have this."
Eldrie begrudgingly said, "Alright, ma'am." As he made a way with ice, dividing the battlefield. Lilith flew off with Markus.
With tears, Liebe chased, thinking, This BS is ass. What the hell is this? I saved the kid, risking my friend, and this is the thanks I get? Family really is the biggest piece of BS I have ever seen. Why the hell did I bother thinking I was humane? I should have known. I should have goddamn fucking known. Lilith will only let me in her mind, not her heart. Damn it. I almost died saving that shit, and all I get is the blame, while that ass gets to be around my mother and say 'Oh mommy, I was scared.' I hate it. I hate it. I goddamn hate it all. What the hell is goddamn wrong with me? I was such a fool. I will have to save Gaia no matter what.
Liebe's communicator said, "Sir, the devils are being taken care of. They are being detained. The one you are chasing, please ensure it continues north towards the extermination point."
Liebe said, "What extermination point? Who said you could attack?"
The voice said, "Sir—"
As Pride contacted Liebe, saying, "They have La and Wither magic. All the devils are safe. Only Gaia is left."
As they reached a dead end, the ground collapsed, taking Liebe and Gaia with them.
