Chapter 390 - Wolfy

As the voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, how do you exist? And what happened to the melody of your life?"

Liebe said, "Still not getting it."

The voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, what happened? How is Freyja? How is Baldr? Has Morningstar still risen yet?"

Liebe said, "Yeah, voice thing, I still can't say it. And by the way, who is Hvíldarráð?"

The voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, what happened to your melody? Why did it turn to a noise?"

Liebe, now actually thinking, being angry, said, "Shit. I let them get away. I lost track of Gaia. I need to find Gaia. How? How? I will destroy them all—everyone of them—till I find Gaia."

As the voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, is that what you want?"

Liebe said, "Huh? You can hear me now?"

The voice said, "Hvíldarráð, look at the stars. They look still as glorious as always. It's as if they are your way of reaching your hand from the past."

Liebe said, "Voice, what the hell are you?"

As it stated, "Hvíldarráð, I can't hear your voice. I can't hear it. For a moment, I just felt your—"

Liebe said, "Still not getting it, voice thing."

The voice said, "Hvíldarráð, I miss your voice."

Liebe said, "Wolf, I don't get it. Wait, is it you, wolf, who is talking?"

The voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, answer me! Hvíldarráð, answer me!"

As soon as he landed in the Abyssal Zone, Liebe said, "It was you, right, wolf, who was talking all this time? But I guess you can't understand me, huh?"

As he thought, I need to get home. Fenrir put him down and let out a howl, making a portal in front.

Liebe said, "Is this for me?" As Fenrir growled, Liebe said, "Guess that's a yes."

As Liebe went through, the voice stated, "Hvíldarráð, I'm glad to be alive till this point. I'm glad I will get to see the blazing dawn. Your melody may be absent, you may not be able to answer me, but that presence—it's you. Serving time for a thousand years—it's finally here. You allied with Thor. The blazing dawn is arriving. I shall do as I promised and awaken Níðhöggr. Your existence is the cause of the end of the world. Even if it means I have to wait another thousand years, I'm glad I finally got to see you and Thor again. The darkness shall gather and turn day to black night. I just wish I got to see the gentle soul of Freyja once more."

As Liebe emerged from the other side of the portal, it was Black Rose HQ.

Liebe said, "Huh? Giant wolf making spatial magic portals? Well, not the weirdest thing I've seen."

As he entered, Eldrie said, "Lord, umm, where are your clothes?"

Liebe looked to see his uniform was gone—only his trousers were there.

Liebe said, "Huh? When did this happen? I swear I had them on before using my magic. Wait, I didn't have them when I woke up. Frick."

As he walked, he said, "Gelda, get me a new uniform."

Gelda said, "Of course."

Later, as Liebe was in Lilith's office with Gelda:

Lilith said, "What happened? Why was it night?"

Liebe said, "Wait, it was night? Huhhhhh? When?"

Gelda said, "Where were you?"

Liebe said, "In the Abyssal Zone. Attacked. Someone attacked the XENIZ village, and I realized who attacked us. And later, I lost consciousness and woke up on top of a giant wolf. And there was stuff. Honestly, the wolf was dumb."

Lilith said, "I see. I think you need to get some water and clear your head. Then let's talk."

Liebe said, "Of course, Captain." As he went out.

Gelda said, "Yo, are you still mad at the wolf?"

Lilith said, "Hell yeah, I'm mad. That black wolf—I will eat that thing."

Gelda said, "Are you still salty about 17 years ago?"

Lilith said, "Yes, I'm salty. Why wouldn't I be salty? That wolf stole my son's first words. Do you have any idea how annoying it is when your son's first words are 'wolfy' instead of 'Mama' or 'Papa'?"

Gelda said, "Quite a mystery, isn't it? That a wolf that circles the Abyssal Zone in a 100 km radius in circles for a thousand years, that has killed hundreds of thousands of humans, suddenly arriving at the walls of the Empire just to meet a mere infant."

Lilith said, "The story is as unbelievable as ever—that a monstrous wolf playing with an infant. But that was the first time I felt fear."

Gelda said, "You were afraid you lost Liebe for good."

Lilith said, "Yeah, I was scared. But Liebe was sad to say goodbye to his wolf friend."

Meanwhile, far away:

Greed said, "Aina, how did the wolf get there? That's supposed to be shackled 100 km from the center of the Abyssal Zone."

Aina said, "It is serving time, but it was never shackled. Yet it has been following the circumference to circle the center. But he left the path."

Greed said, "How the hell did that thing do it? How did it leave the line? What the hell happened?"

Aina said, "That wolf—it stopped its promise. Or it was angered."

Greed said, "But why to us? Why did it come to us? We were more than 650 km from the center. How did that thing find us?"

Aila said, "It must have heard the harsh noise."

Greed said, "Now answer me. Why the hell did they send you? Why did the highest authority in the world send you here if you can't even kill Faust?"

Aila said, "My purpose was to stall Faust, not kill him. Killing Faust is the worst form of crime a man can commit. If you dared to injure Faust, I would have eliminated you first of all. Killing Faust is betraying humanity itself."

Greed said, "What the hell are you saying?"

Aila said, "Killing Faust means a new incarnation. That cannot be tolerated. Faust needs to live no matter what."
