I didn't think I stopped smiling the entire ride home. Even now, standing in front of my house, I could still feel my warm face.
Ian dropped the shopping bags gently by the door, glancing up at me with that soft smile. "I had a really nice time with you," he said.
"I'm glad I spent my first date with you," I smiled back.
"First date?" His brows lifted. "Really?"
I nodded, biting my lower lip as my gaze dropped for a second.
"You didn't tell me," he added, smirking at me.
I shrugged lightly, trying to act casual. "I didn't need to."
"I've had all my firsts with you," I added softly. "You're… consistent."
That made him pause. He repeated it under his breath, almost like he was testing how it felt. "Consistent?"
Then he stepped closer.
I looked up at him, my heart started doing that annoying, fluttering thingy again. "Mhm mm."
"I like the sound of that," he held my gaze. "Because now I'm thinking… maybe I should've taken those firsts a long time ago."
