Chapter 336: Arrival at Tianshang City!
"It was those smelly bastards from the Blood Demon Shark Tribe—the ones big brother killed earlier today," the little girl in green said casually, as she polished off another grilled fish in just a few bites.
Hearing her words, Lin Dong was stunned. He instinctively turned to look at Lin Fan.
Lin Fan simply shook his head slightly without speaking. He was secretly astonished at Mu Lingshan's capabilities. Even he hadn't noticed her presence during the battle earlier.
Lin Dong, seeing that Lin Fan didn't say anything, also chose to remain silent. Instead, he handed another grilled fish to the girl.
This girl's appetite was truly astounding. She devoured more than twenty large grilled fish before finally letting out a satisfied sigh and patting her small belly. Then, she turned to the two with a sweet smile. "Thanks, big brothers!"
There was still a bit of grease on the corner of her lips, but that smile was so sweet it made one's heart melt.
"What's your name?" Lin Fan asked with a smile once she finished eating.
"Mu Lingshan," the girl tugged on one of her sheep-horn braids, her big eyes blinking as she looked at Lin Fan and Lin Dong. "What about you two?"
"I'm Lin Fan," Lin Fan said, pointing to Lin Dong. "And he's Lin Dong, my younger brother."
"Both names are so ordinary," Mu Lingshan giggled. Then she tilted her head and looked at Lin Dong. "Actually, I didn't come over because of the grilled fish. I just couldn't help but follow Lin Dong big brother when I saw him."
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow and asked, "When did you start following us?"
"Just today. When you ran into those guys from earlier, I saw you. Then I just followed along," she replied honestly.
Lin Dong's eyes sharpened slightly. He exchanged a look with Lin Fan, then turned to the girl. "Why did you follow us?"
"I don't know," she said, shaking her head, her twin braids swaying along. "I just felt like Lin Dong big brother wouldn't hurt me. That's all."
Lin Dong frowned. The whole thing felt too strange.
Why would a little girl blindly trust a complete stranger?
Lin Fan, on the other hand, had already guessed something—but chose not to say it.
"Big brother, I'm tired. I'm gonna rest now," Mu Lingshan said sweetly. Without waiting for a reply, she curled up like a kitten beside a rock and fell asleep.
Lin Dong watched her, speechless.
"Brother Lin Fan… do you think what she said is true?" he asked, the bonfire casting flickering shadows across his uneasy face as he glanced at the sleeping girl.
"She doesn't seem like she's lying," Lin Fan said after a pause. "She has a pure heart. I believe her."
"I just don't understand where she came from… and why she feels connected to me," Lin Dong muttered.
Just then, both men noticed a deep blue light beginning to radiate from Mu Lingshan's body.
The light formed a protective aura around her. Under its glow, the severe wounds on her arms began to heal rapidly.
"What… is this?" Lin Dong whispered in surprise.
"The Undying Nirvana Art…" a familiar voice spoke.
It was Yan, the spirit of the Ancestral Stone. His illusory figure appeared beside them.
"The Undying Nirvana Art? What's that?" Lin Dong asked curiously.
Yan stared at the girl and murmured, "She's from the Undying Whale Clan, I suspect. That technique is unique to them."
Lin Dong's pupils contracted slightly.
The Undying Whale Clan was one of the most feared races in the Chaos Demon Sea.
Yan tried to analyze Mu Lingshan's identity further, but after much speculation, he came to no conclusion and eventually returned to the Ancestral Stone with a sigh.
The night passed quickly.
As the sky began to brighten, Mu Lingshan stirred and opened her big, bright eyes, once again full of life.
"Sleep well?" Lin Fan asked with a smile.
"Mhm!" she nodded cheerfully. "Big brother, where are you two headed?"
"We're going to Tianshang Domain," Lin Fan replied.
Her eyes lit up. "You're going for the Tianshang Auction, right?"
"You're quite smart," Lin Fan chuckled. "You guessed right."
"Heehee, can I come with you?"
"Of course," Lin Fan said with a smile.
"Yay! Thanks, Brother Lin Fan!" Mu Lingshan beamed with joy.
Lin Dong said nothing, but seeing that Lin Fan agreed, he didn't object either.
And so, the three of them set off toward Tianshang Domain.
…
Among all the territories in the Chaos Demon Sea, Tianshang Domain was one of the most unique.
Its location connected multiple sea regions, and it was famous for being a hub of rare treasures and wondrous resources. Its reputation even exceeded that of Tianfeng Sea Region.
The domain itself was formed by more than a thousand interconnected islands—essentially an archipelago that served as one giant sea-based continent.
But its geography was nothing compared to the web of forces and factions that vied for control over it.
The dominant power in Tianshang Domain was the Tianshang Pavilion, whose strength rivaled or surpassed the two great cave sects of the Tianfeng Sea.
The upcoming Tianshang Auction was hosted by the Pavilion itself and would take place in its central city: Tianshang City.
After leaving their small island, Lin Fan's group flew directly toward the city.
This time, they encountered no obstacles. The journey was smooth.
In just five days, the endless sea ahead gave way to the sight of distant land.
Above them, the sky became crowded and chaotic—countless streaks of light zipped by, forming a massive, intersecting web.
They had entered the boundaries of Tianshang Domain.
"So lively!" Mu Lingshan's bright eyes sparkled with wonder as she gazed at the bustling city ahead.
"Let's head straight for the city," Lin Fan said.
Neither Lin Dong nor Mu Lingshan objected.
With that, the trio turned into streaks of light and raced toward the grand city.
Half a day later, they arrived at their destination—Tianshang City, the very heart of the domain.
Before them stood a massive city, so large it covered an entire island.
Above the city floated a translucent yellow energy barrier—a protective formation comparable in strength to the great sect-guarding arrays of Dao Sect.
Fortunately, the barrier wasn't active at full strength, allowing travelers to pass through easily.
Following the crowd, Lin Fan's group passed through the array and officially entered the legendary Tianshang City.
And the moment they stepped inside, their eyes were immediately drawn to the towering structure in the city's center:
A nearly thousand-zhang-tall black pagoda—it dominated the cityscape.
It was the auction hall of Tianshang Pavilion.
