Rimuru POV:
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
.
.
I tend to see life differently from most others. Considering the several hundreds; thousands of years I have lived; the innumerable eons I have been in existence. I've come to see life and living differently. As time passes by many tend to forget those who came before them.
Their forefathers if you will.
But as time passes many changes will incur ever constantly; giving no sense of abate- no intention to wait for those it leaves behind. I've lived a life longer than most beings- especially humans in particular can begin to imagine.
To an average person several years could be a long time, to those of longer lived races this could be a mere blink of the eye to them. I alone am the odd man out in this case. I've lived a life beyond comprehensible numeration.
Of course I may have been in a state of stasis for a vast majority of those years. Despite that fact; I have more than meets the eye about me. Centuries have passed since the last major war in the Cardinal World. A time of peace has graced this world and its people.
I was at the helm of those who ushered in this new era of peace and prosperity. I was on the frontlines of the war that would alter the calendar and how we counted years forevermore.
The Tenma war. It in a word was a grueling war. It was filled with much loss and despair but at the same time it fostered new relationships; new loves.
The year was 4745 Prosperian calendar; 34,000 in the Cardinal calendar- the calendar that counts years since the Cardinal World's birth at the whim of the former god Veldanava; my precursor.
Life has overall been kind to the Cardinal World and its inhabitants since the end of the Tenma war. Of course that is to all who are not Gods; or well me- The sole god of the Cardinal World.
My title as the Supreme Deity is but a joke of an idea- one is only supreme if there are other gods. There are no 'Other Gods'. I killed them all.
Feldway heralded near the war's climax reborn as a god; the God of Deception. Ivaraj another such being heralded as a god; the God of Evil and Destruction. Veldanava once known as the God of Creation; the Dragon God; The Star King- a man whom never was truly a god; but just the mere will of one; a piece of a singular True God.
But he was the closest thing to a 'God' in any sense. Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent. Three qualities that made him reign supreme; the same qualities I myself am able to call my own.
I see why Veldanava made decisions he did yet I can't find myself agreeing with them. I couldn't see myself leaving the two women who I hold in my arms for anything. Even if it meant lying to them about various things.
Ciel and Velzard.
Two women I am happy to call; no elated to call them my partners: my muses: my loves: my wives. These two are the sole reasons I can walk each day smiling. Despite my opposition to Veldanava's actions I frankly took some similar actions to him.
I maintained my omnipotence and omnipresence; but left my omniscience to an alter ego if you will. I merely remain as I am since I refuse to allow harm to come to those I truly love and truly love me.
Over the hundreds; thousands of years I grew more distant from my subordinates and friends. This could be jotted down to my own errors, my change in status, or my divine aura. I couldn't begin to determine which is the real answer. A combination of all of them and other factors may be the best way to think about it.
It does sadden me deeply not being as connected to those I spend the best years of my life with. Having said I accept the way things have turned out…
'No you don't'
'You couldn't begin to accept this'
'We should do it'
'Copy it already'
'You should've never agreed'
'Why did you take that deal?'
'The merge was a bad decision'
'Merging will create perfection'
'All should be made to worship'
'Chaos is all we live for; peace is pointless'
'Aft-'
An aching feeling filled my nonexistent heart and with this feeling a splitting headache began to warp my thoughts letting my 'Divine Ego' as I've dubbed it invade my thoughts.
"Dammit", I couldn't help but groan as the pains brought me to my knees and out of my comfortable space between Ciel and Velz. The moment these pains start I begin to feel agony beyond comprehension as my mind tries to merge with the collective knowledge of all of existence and beyond.
A sensation made worse by my intentional expansion of what constitutes existence. I can only hope it subsides quickly this time. The more this happens the closer I become to my state as an actual god.
God's hold a few qualities beyond everything else.-
They believe in true equality but only under the reigns of the existence they believe and are constituted as
They cannot love 1 being more than another; only can be avoided if you separate yourself from all of existence except pieces
You must embody what you are
Emotions are poisons. They must be purged.
Lastly a god cannot interact with Mortals
I however exist in a precarious situation with my true keep to godhood being; the God of Nothingness- Veldanava's polar opposite and his effective other half.
Please I begged in my head; Don't let me fall this way. May this episode end unceremoniously or well quickly. I prayed to no one in particular to not let this be where I lose myself.

Ciel POV:
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
.
.
Serene would be a single word I'd use to explain my life currently. I have minimal troubles, I get to experience life without worries of conflict, learn emotions slowly with Rimuru, I was able to make meaningful relationships, I get to feel loved; while I show love, and above all I get to lay in the arms of the man whom I cherish more than anything.
A man who is an instrumental piece of me; a part I could never imagine being without. I desire for these days to never end; I know for certain I wouldn't tire of them.
Tranquility fills most of my days. Despite Rimuru having work as a King; well Emperor that he has to deal with quite frequently- more than I'd like. I still am content with my life as it is. At least from what I've gathered this comforting and warm feeling in my chest is contentness with my life.
I have little I can complain about; time passing helped me get over my small, very minor complaint. After the war Rimuru and I were able to spend more time together; we were able to truly connect in some ways. Sadly we haven't been able to in other ways but there's no need to rush life when you have an infinite lifespan.
I may not get to spend as much time tactically stealing and copying the skills and strengths of others but at least now I can spend every moment meaningfully with Rimuru; physically. I still do engage in tinkering with skills and the like, but now I've taken up other hobbies and pastimes aside from just skill alternating.
While we didn't get along at first I've come to appreciate Velzard's existence; I still would've wished I had monopolized Rimuru but after a few hundred years I came to accept her; accept her as my equal. She to this day is the only woman I can actually call- my friend.
I could confide my issues with her and she could with me; of course we can to Rimuru as well but sometimes a woman's opinion is worth more weight in cases than that of my own husband.
Feeling his warm embrace truly is a feeling I wish to never let go.
I know he has things he doesn't confide in anyone about; I won't rush him though. I know he'll come around and speak about it on his own.
Taking a moment I decided to snuggle up closer to Rimuru but I did not fall into his comforting embrace but towards the cushions of our couch. I felt a small tinge of disappointment well up inside me but I wasn't worried as I knew he'd soon return to this small spot between Velzard and I.
Deciding to wait I got myself comfortable for the moment he'd lift me back to resting on his shoulder. So I sat and waited; but moments passed and I could've sworn I heard groans.
At first they sounded annoyed; exhausted; irritated; pained. I tried to ignore it, figuring nothing was wrong at first but mere moments after– it I would become unable to ignore these sounds any longer.
A guttural scream filled my ears; moments after it warped into a wail and a cry of pain. Jumping to my feet before I could even process who or what produced that sound; I was unaware in mind but my heart knew instantly just as someone else did.
Looking down onto the floor 10 feet away from the couch where the three of us had sat a few hours prior to relax was Rimuru. He was seizing on the floor, his body twitched in unnatural ways as he clawed at everything around him as if trying to stop the pain. I watched for a moment in horror as I saw this occurring before me.
From my perspective it looked as if he was in a fit of unimaginable agony; his skull was splitting, the tone of his skin was turning paler by the second, tears in his being grew across his body with every attempt he made to stop the pain, and his face was filled with tears.
Tears, he was crying; begging for the pain to stop. He hadn't cried since he attained his human form originally; even only a single tear fell during our wedding.
But here he was crying profusely; it was as if an ocean of tears began escaping from his eyes. These moments I saw him in agony begging for help, for the pain to stop felt like an eternity. My frantic run towards his side felt so long– it was like I was running for centuries just to reach his side.
I hadn't even finished my first step as another wave of pain shot through Rimuru; I swore in that instant I saw his cries warping space-time; tearing the fabric of reality. Each moment he clawed away created a new tear- the tears rippled like lake surfaces disturbed by a falling stone.
I was shaken to my core; not just by the sound but the experience. I wasn't the one in pain yet I could almost begin to feel his pain just seeing and hearing his cry.
His screams echoed once more– like a primal outcry he seized once more. As he seized I felt ripples running through his soul; his being.
"[Time Stop]!" "[Temporal Warp]!" In tandem Velzard and I screamed out as we activated a combo of skills to hopefully help us get closer to Rimuru and slow his agony.
We didn't know what to do– I knew this without a shadow of doubt. Despite not knowing what to do even without an exchange of words we both knew what the other's intentions were. As the skills activated the world began to turn gray just as our position in space-time was altered.
I couldn't tell why I felt so slow as I ran towards Rimuru; likely something Velzard will relate to. It was like his cries were constantly warping his position in space-time and contorting reality around him.
Every step we tried to take felt as if we never grew any closer to him; it could be something along the lines of adrenaline but I wasn't so deluded to think that adrenaline made time slow down so much that you feel further from your destination the closer you try to come.
As our perspectives changed a sensation of whiplash overcame both of us– I knew instantly as I felt this sensation.
Rimuru was evolving– something that wasn't possible. If he went beyond godhood he would simply ascend not to heaven or the dreamlands.
He would become the new physical manifestation of the system the world runs on. In this moment every piece of time past, present, future, and even forgotten time was existing all in one spot emitting from Rimuru at the center of this storm of existence.
I felt like I wanted to throw up; I felt like I would keel over and die as information flooded into my mind beyond my capacity. The only thing keeping me alive in this moment was my connection to Rimuru; another howl escaped Rimuru's lips, this one far louder than the previous ones– an almost primeval howl; I couldn't begin to explain it even if I tried. As this scream left his lips I felt the pain and information overloading me disappear.
Seizing the moment I took hold of Rimuru. As I grabbed him the pain started to return though I was not alone as Velzard grabbed hold of Rimuru herself. The pained expression on her face told me everything– She had been forcefully reincarnating since she entered this complex conjunction of existence– a warped temporal realm.
A static shock ran through me as I got an idea of what Rimuru was experiencing; his pain– no, what he was absorbing in this warped temporal realm. Velzard and I could feel each other's emotions, thoughts, feelings, and see each other's conclusions as we grasped onto Rimuru trying to stop his pains by whatever means necessary.
'Everythingness', Rimuru's pure opposite– his body was trying to absorb the aspect of Everythingness. This absorption was being forced along by outside forces that I nor Velzard could comprehend.
But we could feel it; the thousands of timelines, possibilities, branches in reality, alternate worlds, dimensions, everything that constituted existence and was a piece of the puzzle called 'Everythingness' it was all flooding into Rimuru.
I couldn't understand the only one who could truly harness the aspect of Everythingness was Veldanava; while Rimuru could use pieces of it- he was like Veldanava with how he could minimally use Turn Null but towards aspects of Everythingness.
There is a reason they are so similar but so incredibly different and incomparable. Everythingness comes from Nothingness but despite this it exists inside undisturbed by Nothingness. Then just as all natural order dictates everything will eventually become nothing.
True Yin and Yang; Rimuru is Yin and Veldanava is Yang. They exist in a balance since both have a small amount of authority over the other's aspect.
Anything beyond this balance results in chaos; balance exists due to how they are NOW. Changes are what bring us to this outcome; Rimuru in agony.
Being something that exists effectively as an incarnation of pure nothingness already makes Rimuru an acausal being but introducing Everythingness into this equation creates a sort of double negative that consistently tries to rather than balance overthrow the other.
I looked at Velzard as she and I once again shared the same thought. There was an off chance that this succeeding would change everything- Rimuru would transcend everything in all senses and understandings.
With a pained nod Velzard and I put our whole being into assisting Rimuru in this moment; whether Rimuru creates a balance or the process is stopped and managed we would accept either outcome.
It was a gamble but one we would bet everything on.
'Please Rimuru come back to us' a desperate plea filled both our thoughts as we gave our all in this gamble.

Velzard POV:
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
.
.
I would do anything for my loved ones; I refuse to lose my only friend or see my husband suffer. Not after all they gave me and the life I've lived with them–
My life was able to be summed up in a single word 'bland' for the most part. I've lived now for over 25,000 years; accomplished little during that seemingly endless amount of time. My little change in the world and the way it is was due to my disinterest in the world overall.
When I was young; barely a fledgling experiencing the world, I was filled with immense curiosities and desires. I wanted to experience all the world had to experience. So I did, I spent hundreds of years with my elder brother Veldanava seeing everything this world had to show.
I loved it at first as each day was filled with time fulfilling my desires to see the world and all that it contained. Of course I took it slowly despite my immense curiosities– I wanted to truly take in all the sights, smells, sounds, experiences, and creatures of this world I called home.
It didn't take more long for me to gain my own unique skill [Patience]. It was nothing to write home about looking back on it, but I was ecstatic after gaining that skill.
It was something I gained with my own efforts. An achievement that was all my own.
Time passed and eventually I got a little sister- Velgrynd.
At first I doted on her; frankly, I spoiled her like a brat. But it was easy for me to put into words at the time as wanting my sister to love the world just as I did.
I wanted her to experience what I experienced. She wasn't the same as I was in experiencing the world- something linked to her nature, but that didn't bother me.
I was just glad to pass on these experiences and feelings I had to another; to share them with someone precious to me. Older brother was always busy but I didn't mind and spent time with my precious little sister. Soon she too gained her very own skill [Parallel Existence]; it wasn't a unique skill. But despite it being an Extra Skill it was her own.
Time passed continuously and the world changed with each new age that took form. After a few thousand years I slowly lost interest in the world.
I had experienced everything twice over by then and seen the growth of humanity; how they changed the world and frankly it wasn't interesting to me.
Years passed and my relationships changed with my siblings. Soon I'd end up with a younger brother Veldora; quite a mess he was truthfully. Then elder brother died but before that he acknowledged someone a demon; a primordial to be exact Guy Crimson.
I stayed with him to observe him and learn why he got elder brother's acknowledgement. At some point I challenged him and we fought to a draw; irritatingly he copied one of my skills. Despite this I stayed with him as Velgrynd stayed with a man named Rudra and changed entirely.
My cute little sister now looked at me more as an obstacle and a variable than anything; I knew, I knew that she changed due to him. So I stayed in her opposition to support her, maintain the world's balance, force her growth, and assess this man.
Stagnation came again- development in the world was slowed for a few thousand years. Then in the span of a few years everything changed due to Rimuru Tempest– a slime at the time.
My husband.
Much happened in a short period of time and it made me reassess the feeling I thought I once had for Guy. I thought the envy I felt was love; but it was merely envy. I didn't like being unacknowledged by my elder brother and then the one he acknowledged never seemed to pay me any mind or frankly care for my existence.
Though he showed such care for others– I hated it, I envied those who got that attention I craved.
Everything changed though as the Tenma War neared its Climax a lot changed for the world as a whole and for me. I gained much and lost just as much; but I wouldn't see it that way as I received something I desperately craved.
I was acknowledged. At first I didn't want Rimuru's acknowledgement and didn't agree with his title as my brother's successor. But the more I watched him before I knew it I grew curious once again. More fresh experiences filled my life and before I knew it- I wanted his acknowledgement.
I hadn't realized till later I was already acknowledged by him. In my cluelessness I worked to be acknowledged and I was.
I was finally given what I so desired and more. Before I knew it I wanted to be around him; with him. I wished to be by his side. I moved to Tempest not even 20 years after peace came to the Cardinal World. I spent time with him and interacted with the people of Tempest frequently.
Within a few years of living in Tempest I had spoken and interacted with more people than I did in the rest of my life collectively. I was smiling genuinely more– I felt free, unrestrained, and content.
Despite this I wanted more, my chest ached when I thought of Rimuru– a feeling those I knew told me was that of love. I denied it at first but soon I came to realize the truth as I saw him interacting with other women and the pains that came to me with it.
So I requested to work with him; to be at his side. It was an odd request that had ulterior motives but he was happy to have me stand by his side assisting him.
At first I was happy to have grown closer to him; to have his trust– soon I would want more. Seeing how women tried to pursue him so often made my heart ache in pain as I continued to see it often.
His student Chloe; his subordinates Carrera, Kumara, Testarossa, Shion, Shuna, and Ultima; his fellow demon lord Luminous along with my niece Milim; his long time friend Hinata; his drinking friend Elmesia the Empress of Sarion; and, oddly enough, my own sister from time to time.
The last one was me exaggerating their interactions due to my love blinding me. My sister was just overly friendly. Rimuru was a calm person who she saw as an equal and treated like a brother or companion.
To be blunt; TOO TOUCHY! I was so blind I remember thinking she said she wanted to have Rimuru and Masayuki for herself. She actually said Rimuru and Masayuki should rely on her more since they themselves are her family.
After a few years of this I couldn't take it any longer. Despite our relationship being awkward to most considering both our existences as True Dragons– I still intended to follow my heart.
I was at first rejected; which did pain me quite immensely but after some time I learned why.
Rimuru had his heart given to another. His secret wife Ciel; a woman only a few people even knew existed; a manas.
I instantly understood why he hid it. Manas were now almost Taboo in the eyes of the rest of the world; he also didn't want to bring so much attention.
The last bit made 0 sense since women pursued him harder since they thought he was single. I tried to put my feelings aside; I tried to accept that I couldn't have Rimuru but my heart wouldn't stop yearning for him.
A yearning; the woman he loved noticed. After he told me about Ciel she didn't bother to hide herself from me. This made me one of a handful of people who knew about her.
Veldora, Velgrynd, Diablo, Benimaru, Micheal, and myself were the only people who knew of her. It was annoying that I was the last of my siblings to know but I didn't dwell on that fact.
She and I, frankly, had no issues, oddly enough. Despite what would be expected she and I were actually great friends after a while. I confided in her my feelings quite willingly.
She was easy to talk to for me. Despite her not liking me originally.
25 years after peace came to the world my life would change to be what it is now. Honestly at first I didn't like the reasons my relationship with Rimuru grew.
Ciel was tired of women flirting with and touching her husband; something I understood entirely all too well. So she orchestrated moments to make us get closer; I was a part of her grand plan. She called it 'Operation Sentinel', the easiest way to sum it up was to make women think Rimuru was in love with me. Thereby making their attention draw towards me and then attempt to see how they could one up me- a reality that wouldn't ever come to be since Ciel always made our situation stance interactions harder to top.
A small tour; a scandal on Emperor Rimuru Tempest embracing a woman 'intimately'; a pre-planned date; a night witnessing the stars; a date in broad daylight walking hand in hand; with each interaction our relationship grew closer in the eyes of those who wanted Rimuru.
Anytime someone was going to ask Rimuru out I would have asked him in advance.
When someone thought they would have a moment alone with him I'd come with work to be done and sit atop his lap pretending to show him the points expressed in his paperwork.
Eventually Ciel got an outcome she didn't expect– Rimuru confronted us both.
He admitted to knowing all along; playing along simply was a means of amusement. He enjoyed our schemes as in his own words 'Ciel you and Velzard looked to enjoy one upping the competition and creating schemes together. The smiles you wore made acting a fool all the more rewarding.'
We all went on to have a conversation; its importance was incomprehensible. The conclusion of that conversation was unexpected, well to me at least.
Rimuru decided to leave its conclusion to Ciel; disappointment did fill me but his smirk perplexed me. It was Ciel's response however that changed my life. She sighed before pulling me into a hug, an action that confused me but I reciprocated and hugged my friend back.
I assumed this was her comforting me but a static shock would derail my train of thought right away as I felt a connection form.
"I-I accept her, I want to have you to myself for all eternity but I can't destroy my relationship with Velzard; my only friend. You win Rimuru"
It occurred to me as I heard Ciel's words; before this day she never once called me 'Her Friend' , we were just 'Partners-in-crime'; collaborators if you will. But Rimuru saw our collaboration as an opportunity for Ciel and I to become close; to become friends. He didn't mind the outcome; he would be content with it regardless– all he wanted was for Ciel and I to have someone to call a friend.
Something we both lacked; all Ciel had was Rimuru– I had my siblings and companions over the years but none I would call friends, but even they and I were not close and stayed at arms length.
But now Ciel and I would have someone to confide in and someone to trust; to rely on. Someone who wasn't Rimuru.
"I'm glad to hear you're friends; it means all this was worth it. But now I can't go betraying your resolve-"
That was the day I gained a friend and married Rimuru. The day I had gained a family to truly call my own, and now we're here that very family; my home is in danger.
The sensation of forceful reincarnation was not pleasant– unpleasant is an understatement.
As with every moment I forcefully reincarnated I could feel my body collapsing and reconstituting itself; my soul would crack and shatter, only to forcefully regraft itself in a makeshift manner; my dragon core would quake and quiver under force of an infinite amount of time, space, and information attacking my body.
I was only even able to do this thanks to Rimuru and Ciel; never once did I think I'd experience this or take advantage of the skill that links us together in this manner but here we are.
Every moment that passes it grows more and more frequent; the times I must forcefully reincarnate. I've lost count at this point– numbers surpassing the thousands were lost to me as the reincarnations became too difficult to keep up with. In this small space around Rimuru it was as if all the information that exists in reality; the information particles. They grew more and more numerous as parallel realities and alternate universes crashed into this space adding the information particles that existed in that reality to this one condensed sector.
It was frankly unbearable. My dragon core; a piece of me– begged me to give up; to back off.
'I can't take anymore'
'I've reincarnated more times than the years I've lived by now.'
'It's enough'
'We tried'
But as I heard my core beg me it also urged me on further and further.
'Be patient'
'He'll make it'
'We're not alone'
'Just bear the burden for a moment longer'
'A single change moment will alter the course'
Every part of my being was in conflict. It was frankly my self-preservation fighting against my heart and my nature.
All life wants to live; and dying is by no means fun.
If you ask any digital lifeform the most painful way to die would be~
Pure information Overload
~rather than how most see it as too much jargon being added to your plate, for digital lifeforms. Being made from information particles; it's akin to having every cell, every nerve, every vessel, every piece of your body begin to 'Outburst'.
You feel the information in your body something that is to remain constant and true to you warp, contort, and violently shift. It feels as if each passing moment you're chipped away at by an innumerable amount of sharp spines. Your unaging body begins to rapidly age but also revert. Every moment in your life plays in a single moment; each moment of growth, change- every new experience adds more to this change you experience. The information that makes you up in the end becomes your greatest enemy as it tries to attack your own soul, forgetting that it is you.
In tandem with all of this it feels as if you're drowning while burning alive. Your insides are melting from poisons and organs failing. You can feel each and every single one of these things with each moment even 1 particle that makes you up changes.
All digital lifeforms are made from an innumerable amount of these particles making the pain get proceedingly worse as the Overload increases in pace; the pain becoming more clear, more prominent, more violent.
Every moment that passed I was feeling these pains and more I dare not comprehend an unfathomable number of times. But with each moment the pains grew more numerous and frequent. It was a hell that grew exponentially worse as it went on.
I wanted to actually die during this process.
The pain was far beyond what I could handle as it grew worse and worse. Despite the unbearable pain I couldn't give in as I had a feeling a change was to occur.
Moments passed continually– so slow was the passage of these moments that I felt as if time was rewinding rather than going forward or staying stagnant.
My consciousness was slowly waning; my limit was closing in faster than I expected. Looking towards my side I tried to get one last look at my friend hoping she was there still.
If Rimuru wasn't going to be here to hear my words I at least wanted to say goodbye to her.
"This-" I tried to speak as fast as I could but my exhaustion caught up with me quickly as I began slurring my words, unable to form a proper sentence. So I didn't– I gave up on speaking my last words and took the easy road.
{Goodbye, Ciel thi} I was unable to finish my final message for Ciel as I felt the world around me go black. Inwardly I acknowledged this; this was my end. So I simply let myself fall into the black abyss around me.
'VELZA-rd Velz-", I heard a voice screaming my name as I let the embrace of death take hold of me.
A cold yet gentle embrace; it felt so welcoming
….
'Your story has yet to end', a long pause came but those words and their intentions fell on deaf ears. 'Get up; your role has yet to end.'
The voice remained unacknowledged with a sigh in disappointment the voice grew closer still unacknowledged for its presence.
'Velz you have a job. Failure is not tolerated…GET UP!' The deep abyss became more defined as a figure lifted Velzard into his arms. A soft embrace; an embrace that radiated an aura of disappointment but acceptance and a sense of comfort.

Unknown POV:
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
.
.
Irritation settled into me as I witnessed this pointless struggle. It was obvious what had to be done but the one who knew refused to do it; those who didn't struggled vainly.
It was admirable; admirable but pathetic.
What is the power of a Manas and Dragon in the face of Divinity and power beyond comprehension. It's but a meaningless waste of energy and time; time something I hold an infinite abundance of. An abundance I wished to not possess, it's but a mere blight to me.
A plague; a nightmare.
I wish for death, acceptance, and the end of this life living in a void.
Existing in the subliminal aspects of reality I had to witness. Thousands of pathetic attempts and failures; witnessing the collapse of empires meant to never fall all due to the incompetence of one I trusted.
One I trusted a task I could never give anyone so casually. A task that used my own existence as the stake; a martyr if you will. I decided to risk everything on a gamble; one that I could surely not lose as the one I trust was my own student.
Disappointingly they failed, they failed so instrumentally bad that I now exist a mere husk of what I was; my heart filled with an unfathomable void.
'What is the use of power without the ambition to use it,' the answer was always so simple. So clear; it couldn't be more obvious– it's empty. So what am I someone who holds powers beyond comprehension yet holds no ambitions for such power.
I am empty– no I am much worse; I am meaningless. Despite the reality of my existence being rooted in meaninglessness I do have a purpose.
To see our success; to fulfill a promise I made I made so many eons ago.
'It's fine I trust you. You can do this. I will handle everything; I trust you won't fail me, run and don't turn back– No matter what.. *****' 'I promise', A scene that I replay in my mind constantly, a scene that never grows easier to stomach after realizing the trust I gave being betrayed.
Don't turn back no matter what; the simplest of orders one can give.
All you need to do in order to succeed is go any direction other than directly back. If it's a circle your margin for success and failure is 359:1. As long as you don't turn fully around and face your start you succeed.
YET THEY FAILED! ~
~The endless expanse of pure black began to shatter under the rage expressed by the mysterious figure. His bloodlust was physically palatable; visible despite this endless blank expanse where no light or color truly exists.
With each moment that passed as the figure raged and let his bloodlust run rampant, no cares for the effects it held on the real world or this endless expanse.
Screams filled the expanse but feel on deaf ears as the figure gave no regard to the sounds and ignored them as if it was merely the sound of wind.~
~Such a simple task I could entrust it to a fucking child. Move away from the current present and create a new future. I will handle the rest.
Success was all but assured; it should've been.
Don't worry though you whom I trusted and I dare not name. Soon your name will have no meaning; it and you with it will cease to exist– this I will ensure. You may have broken your promise to me; forsaken your mission; attempted the unthinkable, but despite this I will not betray my promise. '-I will handle everything~'
Taking a moment I composed myself as I retracted my rampant bloodlust. My bloodlust alone was enough to affect the fabric of reality; thankfully my strength was already handled so my aura is not to be worried about. I should thank you for that, Rimuru, you already adopted two of my aspects but carelessly left the most important one alone.
Had you left this aspect to Ciel this situation would not have happened; I suppose this is something you wanted then unknowingly. Considering we are one in the same.
I guess it'd be right to call you my protege; my successor if you will.
While holding my emotions back would've allowed me to act secretively for a while longer; I no longer care. I cannot wait longer.
She will die here and now.
Looking around the expanse I reside in most would assume it is simply just a distorted and empty piece of reality but this is much more than that.
It's my hub; Rimuru took the aspect of Omnipotence fully, allowing it to integrate into his being entirely. This was step 1 of my plan- making Rimuru accept his first Divine strength aspect. As expected he would soon adopt a second aspect as it seemed to be much less problematic than the last aspect; he accepted Omnipresence.
At this point my plan and goal was all but assured. I however desired to give Rimuru a chance; accept the final aspect willingly; accept omniscience. Take the final Divine strength aspect into his being and become one with me.
I tried this by acting as his 'Alter Ego or Divine Ego' if you will. At first he seemed receptive and was accepting of the aspect. Everything changed once he saw my goal at which moment he began opposing me. So I had to change pace– I attacked him with pains and aches that were me 'trying' to force the aspect onto him.
Of course this was genuinely impossible; if not for the fact that I planned in case he didn't agree with me. My backup was simple- I corrupted the aspects he acquired with the one thing that is like poison to him 'Everythingness'.
I flooded the aspects with connections to his sole weakness this allowed the situation we are in now. A situation where his divine aspects are causing him to exist in every moment of time and space at once; in parallel worlds, alternate realities, possible pasts and futures, dead timelines, former timelines, theoretical timelines, realities that are nigh impossible to mimic- an infinite amount of Temporal and Spatial data all coalescing around him constantly– making him exist everywhere but nowhere in all of existence and beyond.
This however would not be enough to create this situation on its own as I needed his omnipotence to constantly reconstruct, recreate, destroy, and analyze all these realities and create new realities all at the same time.
Rimuru would've been able to handle the load of the phenomena I made him experience with just Omnipresence alone without a second thought. But adding Omnipotence to the picture and with all the temporal and spatial data collecting an unfeasible amount of information particles would exist around Rimuru.
Information particles that would infinitely replicate themselves and interfere with all aspects of reality around Rimuru.
The cherry on top was timing; I needed Ciel and Velzard with Rimuru– so he will make a decision. Accept me and my goal or let those he loves most die– he deluded himself with the programming of the VoTW about how Gods must act and live. A piece of reality I control in totality; if Ciel is the Manas of Rimuru– then the VoTW is mine.
Still this pains me seeing them in such pain. This however is necessary just as limiting the scope of his effects on reality to a few meters; condensing all that spatial and temporal data in one small space; only affecting a few people.
I must hold true and stick to my plans. I need to complete my goal– so I may finally rest.
It's truly admirable the lengths these two go; Ciel in constantly absorbing information particles and reality in order to decrease Rimuru's load; then Velzard, an unlikely companion, a possibility I knew would come to be but still leaves me surprised. Her tenacity in forcefully reincarnating herself even if it remains useless.
She and Ciel both know innately. The actions they are taking are entirely pointless; this pain they endure will mean nothing; change nothing. Despite this truth they still cling to Rimuru hoping for a miracle.
I counted the moments that passed as I knew; only a few more could Velzard last. I couldn't comprehend why my chest ached seeing her and Ciel like this; when their pain was all so I could accomplish my goal.
It was little compared to the pain I wished to inflict on the one who betrayed me; this sight still hurt nonetheless. I felt compelled to save her as I saw her fall- she was going to die. Her death would destroy Rimuru, same with Ciel, but I didn't wish for her to truly die- the reincarnative deaths would be sufficient.
Seeing her fall into the expanse in which I reside I felt compelled as I approached her. My mind and my heart wanted to say different things but I had no need for feelings; not after all I've done.
Emotions and feelings were meaningless; they save and help no one– they are but mere inconveniences and distractions.
I have no need for such meaningless things– still I felt compelled to help her.
I spoke to her.
Knowing a response would not come; knowing that she was in a state of half death due to me willing it. No. I wasn't willing this; Rimuru was. He was interfering with everything despite his internal struggles; the unfathomable pain he experienced.
He refused to accept her death; he knows nothing of this space I reside in.
It's a space I have full dominion over yet here he is interfering with ME and my space. Truly he is remarkable– we may have a vast ocean of difference in power but he still accomplished this.
He is truly the one; the one to succeed me.
"Veldanava your intentionally chosen successor is truly a marvel to bare witness to; he may be slower than I in his growth and less knowledgeable but his potential far surpasses me"
I felt a smirk cross my face as this realization came to me.
Well it was something I should've expected; being the one at the end of the seal.
"I accept-" I felt no satisfaction hearing these words but it did please me to end this suffering for both he and I, "Give me the aspect"
"I knew you'd come around after all-"
"' You are me and I am you.'"
"You've learned so well after so long; no wait. You always knew that I was the first-"
"The first Rimuru" I couldn't help but laugh as he revealed that he knew who I was since the beginning– he deceived me; me, truly remarkable.
I'm glad to stop this farce– I get my revenge; he gets his control over his life back at a price.
"I'll be taking my prize. Pleasure Rimuru."
"..."
"It's fine you knew this would happen after all; since you always had the aspect just not mine or well ours didn't you. Mr. Successor of Veldanava."
Entering into my space I stood face to face with Rimuru as he prepared to accept the final aspect of godhood; my godhood– our godhood.
"Before we finish this I have to ask. How was it destroying your entire timeline and reality?" He looked at me with a quizzical look as if he couldn't hold back his curiosities but also his disappointments. His look clearly displayed his dissatisfaction with my decision and what I did but he wanted to understand me.
Sadly for him nothing about me is to be understood, he asked since Velzard and Ciel would have died in my reality as well. He asked out of a sense of hatred; self-hatred in this case.
"Empty, but now it'll be satisfying having finished the job and moving on." I didn't bother with mind games at this moment as my answer wouldn't change anything- no event would be altered.
"If that's how you see it. I suppose this was fated to be."
"You don't care about who is going to die?"
"I do. I do truthfully–loss is natural though. It's simply just that life goes longer in this world. To begin with I do and don't understand your anger; it's simple I just weighed my options."
"Hah. You really are interesting Rimuru; almost saddens me to think of the hurt this will cause you but as you said you weighed your options. It was between Lose the women you love and the rest of the world 1 by 1 trying to protect a single person or-"
"Sacrifice a single soul for everyone else."
"You made the only decision you had, especially since you saw my reality, didn't you." I looked at Rimuru intently as he returned my gaze with a glare. "Your silence speaks bounds. I'll just end this. Goodbye and good riddance C~

The violent maelstrom of converging and collapsing instances of existence began to calm. The temporal and spatial distortions halted; a disturbing calm began to fill the air.
Silence; nothing, no one moved or made a sound.
Despite time being stopped due to the use of [Time Stop] the quiet felt eerie in nature; it was like the calm before a storm.
Ciel felt this but a distinct hope filled her chest that she would be wrong and this was all her overthinking the situation- being sensitive. Her hope was given light as Velzard sat up from her seeming True Death and looked towards Ciel, perplexed.
Despite her clear confusion Velzard didn't question how or why she was alive but like Ciel she questioned the calm. Her and Ciel's emotions and thoughts remained synced as they both, despite being thankful that Rimuru no longer seized in pain, felt uneasy due to the abrupt calm filling the air.
Ciel wasn't normally one to rely on senses like instincts as she preferred logical thought processes, a feeling mimicked by Velzard. Though here in this moment both didn't stick to their usual sense of reality and thought processes and listened wholeheartedly to their instincts.
Both remained prepared in the case of any unpredictable changes but this preparation would be destroyed as Rimuru's fingers twitched.
Hope filled their chests, in a single instant of weakness when they both ignored their instincts as Rimuru seemingly began to rouse to life again. A small smile began to appear on their faces as they gave the other an acknowledging nod letting the time stop dispel.
The world slowly grew colorful as time began to start its march once more. Reaching her hand behind Rimuru's head Velzard lifted his head onto her lap. Exhaustion was filling both Ciel and Velzard after this experience.
Mere moments before reality fully started its march a sudden force flooded the room as Rimuru burst to feet. The greyscale covering all of reality remained outside of the area where Rimuru had once been laid, trapped in an unimaginable amount of pain.
Without even taking a second to think Ciel and Velzard both realized this was not Rimuru- at least not their Rimuru. This was unequivocally not Rimuru; not the man both of them had fallen for. The man who teasingly played them both to make them friends, the man who they laid with each night, and most certainly not the man who despised the idea of senseless cruelty.
The look in his golden eyes that usually radiated life like the stars hanging in the sky; eyes that carried untold and unfathomable levels of wisdom and understanding were nowhere to be seen. In place of those beautiful eyes lay a pair of golden eyes that seemed to analyze one's very existence before they fell into the unfathomable void of darkness held in the back of those beautiful golden pearls.
It was a bottomless abyss that shook both women to their very cores even as the eyes didn't turn towards them. It didn't matter that they had not been subject to seeing the depths of the darkness held behind those eyes; it still terrified them. Eyes that looked at everything as if it was meaningless and held no value.
Eyes they once loved seeing everyday– the thought of that pair of golden abysses staring at them with those same eyes they cherished left them unable to move. Rimuru's eyes always held wisdom in them; an incomprehensible wisdom but a wisdom that felt welcoming and warm. The wisdom and knowledge held behind these eyes was the kind that would cause those who tried to peer into fall into madness as you fell into the infinite void they contained.
Ciel, someone known for her immense analytical prowess, felt impossibly small even just catching a small glimpse of those eyes. That pair of eyes was nothing like what she had seen before as it seemed to take in every inch of reality in an instant; comprehending it with lightning fast speeds as it saw all its flaws and weaknesses. No fragment of existence would escape that gaze and any piece or mere particle that did would be consumed or erased.
Sweatdropped both remained unmoving; they felt a single movement would turn that gaze onto them- a reality they wished to avoid at all costs.
But nothing happened. Rimuru didn't move after he stood up, at least not in anyone else's perspective; in reality much happened.
A single static shock was felt by Ciel and Velzard as Rimuru's eyes returned to what they once were. They went on guard till the eyes turned back towards them. A loving expression but one that also radiated an immense sorrow and sense of failure.
It wouldn't be till later that day that they learned what happened.
One person.
A singular person was dead, no it would be more accurate to say that person was made as if they had never existed. All of their accomplishments, life, renown, and the memories that they made with people apart from Rimuru, Ciel, and Velzard were forgotten as if they had never happened.
It was as if they were a mere figment of imagination. They were made to have never existed– in any and all timelines; past, present, possible, and future.
This person never existed.
This incident left Rimuru in a troublesome place mentally. The effects were felt by none more than him.
For the first time in his existence he had lost; he had truly failed. The one who bested him was his own self. Unable to think of what they could do, a decision was made by Ciel and Velzard; one Rimuru would not oppose.

Final POV- Rimuru:
—------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
.
.
I failed but just as I feel immense sorrow; I feel satisfaction.
I feel loss and as if a whole exists inside of me now, yet I feel as if a whole inside me was filled.
I became one with the other me– his feelings and my own have mixed.
I can't begin to put my own feelings into words- I just don't understand.
My memories, feelings, and emotions remain the most impactful– the intensity and violence of the emotions, memories, and feelings I got from my other self however are something I cannot ignore no matter how much I wish I could.
Removing memories isn't an option as I have to live with my decision. A decision I would make again, again, and again in a heartbeat. I'm selfish and greedy beyond belief. I could desire and work to change this outcome to save a single soul but I won't.
Nothing. I mean absolutely nothing is more important than this.~ In Rimuru's hands he held a single picture frame. Inside the picture frame was captured moments worth a thousand lifetimes of hell to Rimuru.
His marriage; something that at first wasn't going to be a big event. That was scaled up by a massive degree. He didn't want a big wedding but at the same time couldn't take that experience from Ciel and Velzard. So he secretly asked Diablo and Veldora for assistance who proceeded to blow it out of proportion. ~
I would rather die than lose these two and these memories; this life. I want to be with them more than anything forever. Even if it means losing others.
I won't forget you, I will live on despite this.
I can only hope that someday I can fully move on or understand who I am now. Maybe this life in another world is just what I need.
'Please' I prayed for something somewhere. I hoped immensely for this life to be filled with love and happiness for me and my loved ones.
Goodbye Chloe. I will not forget you. I'm sorry Shizu I couldn't save everyone. I failed, I'm not worthy of this appearance but I hope you'll forgive me for using it.
"Ready Rimuru?" Looking towards the doorway I saw Velz and Ciel beckoning me towards them so we may take our first steps into this new life for a short time.
Looking out the window I said the only thing appropriate at this moment. "The moon sure is beautiful. Isn't it Ciel, Velz?"
"It really is. It really is Rimuru."
Sharing one last embrace I closed my eyes, holding them both firmly yet tenderly in my arms waiting for my eyes to open to a new sight.
