What happened, why does my entire body feel like it's being engulfed in flames? Why is my heart burning? Why can't I breath?
Shin stood in absolute darkness, lost in thought as the world around in blew up in flames. He lifted his head and realized he was in the middle of the street.
Isn't this my neighborhood? why am I hear? Shouldn't I be in the demon continent?
Barely able to breath, he scanned around and his eyes finally landed infront of his house when he heard it.
A beastly wail shook him out of his trans as his eyes darted up and met with the source of the unholy wail before flames erupted everywhere and engulfed everything in sight.
Shin planted himself into the ground and braced himself as wave of fire and air washed over him, scorching parts of his body. Whne the wave subsided, Shin had one eye closed and the other desperately trying to stay open while covering it with his hand shielding it from the flames.
He tried to take another look but his vision had already began to blur. All he managed to see was the red scales of the beast.
Satel! I have to save them.
He lifted his hand towards the creature and before he could speak a familiar voice called out to him.
'NO! Don't do it! You'll kill everyone,' the voice called out.
"I have to, otherwise they'll die either way. Atleast in this way there is a chance that Bael can stop it," Shin responded.
'Are you really going to risk their lives for a maybe. Not even Bjorn couldn't kill without bringing out his own and now you're going to trust someone you know nothing about to stop it!' the voice screamed.
Shin paused for a moment. Should he really have faith in someone he hasn't even known for a full month?
"What other choice do I have?" he responded.
This time the voice didn't respond back as if admitting defeat. Shin closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.
Watch over me.
At the doors of death a reflection appears. The grotesque mirror the snares at your soul. Rebuke it and become the monster you were meant to be. Accept it and gain the truest power of your soul.
Union of fire and wind. Bastard of life and Hellfire. Feed upon my hatred and obey it. Scorch everything that opposes it.
"True body manifestation: Hellfire Quetzecoatl,"
Silence.
In an instant, all the flames in the forest disappeared leaving nothing but charred wood. The silence that followed was deafening, you could hear a rat walking from miles away.
Shin's body gave way and he collapsed into the bow awake Satel. She looked up at Bael with blood leaking out of her nose.
"Bael, what's happening?" she asked in a hushed voice.
Bael didn't respond as his gazed was locked on the now scared Azure crocodile. He observed as it's eyes flicker between ocean blue and pink as if it was actively fighting against something that was possessing it.
Before he could think to inspect it further the boat below him went dark. Almost as if something massive was suddenly hovering above them.
Bael noticed that it reached even the Azure crocodile. Gathering himself he glanced up and his eyes widened. A large serpentine like creature with two arms floated above them.
It's red scales almost resembled the hue of fire, while the feathers on its head, ears, shoulders, elbows and Tail were read at the roots and gradually transitioned to green at the tips.
The creature let out a ghastly roar which sounded like a choir of folks being dragged on countless chalk boards. It was impossible to listen too yet it had a soothing tone to it, almost as if a mother was comforting it's child.
"Kill, it," Shin murmured .
