The door creaked open and I could see a familiar figure enter the door slyly from the corner of my eyes. As soon as I turned, I shrieked.
"Edmund! What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here!" My hand frantically searched for something that could hide my vulnerable self. I squatted underneath the tablecloth and showed only my face from the table.
But he ignored me. Straight up, he sent the rest of the bridal team away and that made my heart pound madly.
'What is it? Are we postponing again?' I stood up with trembling knees, finding the situation perplexing.
"Is something going on?" I croaked through the lump of my throat.
Again, he did not answer. He shut the door behind him and locked them, sending chills down my spine. Sensing that something was not right, I rushed to his side. To my frustration, the dress slowed my speed down, taking forever to reach his side. Even when I was able to grab his hands for assurance, I was unable to calm my heart.
