In the Abandoned Library…
Kristen carefully picked up an old, dusty book from the floating pile.
Kristen: "Finally! A book that might actually explain something!" 😤
She blew away the dust.
COUGH! COUGH!
Kristen: "Seriously?! How long has this thing been sitting here? Five hundred years?" 🤧
She examined the cover.
BOOK TITLE: QUEEN ELDA THE WITCH
Kristen: "Queen Elda the Witch… Well, that sounds promising."
She opened the book.
The moment her fingers touched the first page, the faint glow around her pendant grew brighter.
Kristen: "Huh?"
The pages turned by themselves.
Kristen: "Hey! I can read without your help, you know!" 😑
The book suddenly stopped at the first chapter.
WRITER'S POV
A long time ago, during the nineteenth century, a very rare girl was born.
She was neither entirely human nor entirely a witch.
She was half witch and half human. 🌩️
And the moment she entered the world… chaos erupted.
The land caught fire. 🔥
Rain poured from the sky as though the heavens had forgotten how to close their taps. 💦
The wind howled violently, throwing trees and rooftops into disarray. 💨
Apparently, even nature had decided to make a dramatic entrance.
And the girl?
She was born on a day of war.
Kristen: "Wow. Even her birthday came with a disaster package." 😶
As the girl grew older, strange things continued to happen around her.
Whenever something went wrong, people blamed her.
Villager 1: "Mother Earth has cursed that child!"
Villager 2: "She's the reason our crops are dying!"
Villager 3: "My cow refused to eat yesterday! It must be her fault!" 🤦♀️
Kristen: "Your cow probably just wasn't hungry, you idiot!" 😤
She continued reading.
Despite the accusations, the girl grew into a breathtakingly beautiful woman.
Her beauty was dazzling.
Men across Lupesia competed for her attention, bringing expensive gifts, writing love poems, and inventing ridiculous excuses just to speak to her.
Man 1: "Lady Elda, I brought you a bouquet of roses!" 🌹
Man 2: "I brought you a necklace made from precious gemstones!"
Man 3: "I brought you an entire horse!"
The horse immediately kicked him.
Kristen: "HAHAHA! Even the horse rejected your romantic strategy!" 😂
But Elda's heart belonged to only one man.
The King of Lupesia. 💘
Unfortunately, the King was in love with another woman.
Kristen: "Oh, no. Here comes the disaster." 😐
Determined to have the man she loved, Elda arranged a marriage between the King and his beloved.
Everyone celebrated the wedding.
Except Elda.
On the wedding day, she decided that she had suffered enough.
She killed the bride and forced the King to marry her instead.
Kristen: "WHAT?! SHE ACTUALLY KILLED HER?!" 😱
The King was furious.
He refused to touch Elda, refused to show her affection, and treated her as though she didn't exist.
Kristen: "Well… forcing someone into marriage isn't exactly a love potion, is it?" 😑
As time passed, the King married other women to strengthen political alliances.
Elda watched silently, her jealousy growing with every passing day.
Then she discovered something even worse.
The King had begun an intimate relationship with his favourite concubine.
Kristen: "Oh, boy. Someone's about to lose her mind." 😬
Elda could no longer tolerate it.
She secretly drugged the King and spent the night with him.
The following morning, the King discovered what had happened.
King: "YOU DARE?!"
His voice thundered through the palace.
King: "You will never be my wife! And if you ever have a child, I will never touch it!" 😡
Elda stood silently, watching him leave.
And that was where the first chapter ended.
Kristen slowly lowered the book.
Kristen: "What the hell… this woman is insane!" 😤
She paused.
Kristen: "But somehow… fascinating."
Her pendant suddenly pulsed against her chest.
Kristen: "Wait. Why are you glowing now?"
Deep inside the abandoned library, another book opened by itself.
Its title was the same.
QUEEN ELDA THE WITCH.
But this time, the pages contained a story that had never been written.
Kristen: "...Please tell me this library isn't going to get any weirder." 😭If you want, I can continue with Kristen discovering the next chapter about Queen Elda's pregnancy and the curse.
