"Voila!"
Startled, Ezekiel immediately flipped the tablet over and pressed it against his chest, hiding the screen from view as though it contained top-secret information.
Viola blinked in surprise. "What is it?" she asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
"N-Nothing," Ezekiel replied, a little too quickly.
The defensive answer only fueled her suspicion. A playful smile spread across her face as she folded her arms.
"I don't believe that for a second."
She took another step closer, her emerald eyes sparkling with curiosity. "After all," she continued, "I don't think 'nothing' would make my Zeke look so angry that he starts muttering about killing someone."
Ezekiel froze. Viola caught the reaction instantly, the corners of her lips curling upward.
"Oh?" she teased. "So there is something you're hiding."
"There isn't."
